  2. The Peregrine Falcons of the Forest Protectorate Those who protect the forest from high above the clouds Hogomori no Hayabusa | 保護森の隼 Species: Peregrine Falcon | Hayabusa | 隼 Residence: The Arboreal City in the Sky | Zujо̄ no Shinrinchi | 頭上の森林地 Family Element: Combinatorial; Shock clouds far above the eye can see a speck observes a screech the forest below a blur a flash of light sublunar fauna streaks the horizon fallowed ground trees of nimbus Hayabusa a vestal veil watcher, protector Hayabusa our avian Gods. An excerpt from the Nara Poetic Anthology of Ninshū Beasts Family Information Legend has it that the Hogomori no Hayabusa, or the Peregrine Falcons of their Forest Protectorate, live far above the tallest forest canopy, past the highest crest of clouds, and beyond into the heavens. The Hayabusa rarely travel away from their forest protectorate which resides below on the earth surface. Although much of they history of Shinobi has been played out in the forests of the land, the Hayabusa began watching over the world's forests long before humans began to walk the earth. Family Habitat The Hogoromi no Hayabusa live in an avian sanctuary commonly referred to as Zujо̄ no Shinrinchi, or The Arboreal City in the Sky. Like the sub-ordered Peregrine Falcons on the Earth below, the Hogoromi no Hayabusa make their nests in the the highest places available, only the tallest-reaching of tree branches. It is a place utterly unreachable by humans without escort from a member of the Hayabusa family. Not only this, but only shinobi with extreme fortitude can survive the journey, as the altitude and unfathomable speed at which the Hayabusa travel would kill anyone of lesser constitution. The habitat in which they live mirrors the forest environments they watch over. At some point between the dawn of the creation of the world and the creation of man, a whole forest of ancient trees shot up into the sky out of a vast network of cumulonimbus clouds acting as the "earth" which binds its roots.
