Guest kuratg Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 (edited) Clan: Uchiha Character Name: Uchiha Ankoku Gender: Female Please note that all of these are IC from my character's POV. Enjoy. Expect my next scenario within a few hours. Scenario 1: Monday, August 29 Oh, how I hate Mondays. I do apologize for the depressing start of this entry, but I am quite down today, and in more than one way. The medic has informed me, as he does every day, that my ‘long nap' is coming closer and closer, but I suppose I've known that for sometime. Mentally, I suppose I'm lacking as well as this was the third time this week that I couldn't work up the strength to even leave my bed. And how that hurt! Not me, of course (my bed is quite comfortable), but my grandson. Apparently, I was supposed to go about teaching him some jutsu, but well, things come up-or don't if you're as old as I am. Regardless, I couldn't do it and his disappointment shook me more than I thought it would. But, perhaps that's why I'm writing today. Yes, as you must have noticed, my entries are dwindling, dwindling, much like the life that remains in these old bones. It is finally time for me to come to terms with the fact that within a few short days, I'll no longer be apart of this world. Strange, though, since it felt like only yesterday that I was pummeling that silly Caruso boy when he stepped on my white shoes; I was six, I believe. However, I do believe that if it wasn't for my wanting to pummel that silly Caruso boy, I wouldn't have joined the Academy at all. No, I would have remained at home, learning to be a proper wife from my mother. I remember him clearing running through my house, looking for my brother to tell him the good news. When I asked, I remember him shoving me to the ground, telling me that girls were too stupid to understand. Of course, I was righteously irked and stormed after him. He blabbered to my brother about his parents registering him for the Academy and then both boys went to ask my mother if HE-my brother-could join. She didn't even have to stop to think before she said ‘yes', but, the moment the syllables left my mouth, she sputtered and spattered and jibbered and jabbered, trying to figure a way of how to refuse to let me join. Oh, the unfairness of it all! We argued and I cried and she cried and finally my father, the justice of the house, stepped in. I don't believe I loved any other man more than my father when he put his foot down: If the boy can go, the girl can, too. While my mother was the old-fashioned sort who believed the woman's place was in the house, my father was the exact opposite. He told me later that he'd seen enough of war to know that a person was a person, regardless of their gender and that a person, again regardless of their gender, could move a mountain in their own way. Their own way. Yes, that stuck with me for years. My brother, bless him, was the symbol of irony. He was the toughest guy I knew, but he was so lacking in common sense that I was surprised he ever made jounin. I don't ever remember him giving up, though. Ever. Not even when we were cornered in the Rock Country. We were surrounded, outnumbered, and outmatched. Something had gone wrong with the concealing genjutsu one of the other chuunin comrades we had put up and we'd been spotted. From the hills and crevasses amongst the mountains, ninjas swarmed around us. If I remember correctly, there were five of us and maybe fifteen of them, but I suppose that isn't the point. The point is is that my idiotic brother, a brawler by nature, rushed out of his hiding spoke, Sharingan blazing, roaring insults. He met two shinobi out right and the rest of us realized quickly that it was either help or hurt. Well, being as it was my brother out there about to get hammered into the ground, I leapt out as well, damning his birth. So, by then, it was three of us against fifteen, no maybe it was fourteen, I think one of the guys got a Rocky early on. Regardless, our buns were being handed to us on a platter. The only one who maintained the delusion of victory was, of course, my brother. I suppose it was his courage, or stupidety in my opinion, that eventually brought the others into the fray. Somehow, we managed to confuse them and blow a couple up with a few well placed explosive tags. Still, though, we were losing. I myself had a couple of gashes running down my face and across my chest. Person who'd taken the most damage? Brother dearest, naturally. Honestly, I don't know how he was even managing to stay on his feet. His chakra was so spent that even his Sharingan was down and yet, he was still going, slamming opponents against a rock, a kunai, his fist. For a long time, I couldn't tell whose blood was whose that fell between him and another Rock ninja. After an eternity, he was felled by some sort of rock ninjutsu. From the ground, he struggled to move, to defend himself, to get back up. But they had him and they were ruthless. It took all the strength he had left to bite one of ‘um on the ankle hard enough to draw blood. The kicks to the face he earned for that stunt didn't stop him, though, I'm proud to say, as he just as quickly latched onto another ankle. He overcame and very quickly, picking up some sort of adrenaline boost from his desperation. The rest was history, though, as another squad who we were supposed to meet up with showed up and saved our butts. Our little troupe ended up in the medical ward for about two weeks, my brother for three. To this day, I'm still a little shocked to remember how he managed to survive that brawl and yet succumbed cancer after only a year of fighting. I'm thankful for the loser, though. If it wasn't for him, I don't think I could have gotten through teaching those little spazoids the Hokage set me with when I was first promoted to jounin. I hated kids. I detested kids. I abhored kids. And my first assignment? Coach green, bumbling twelve-year olds to become top rate shinobi. Oh, how fun. And yet, despite my general dislike for them, those first three were something special, I have to admit. One girl and two boys. The girl was feisty, rambunctious, and quite flirtatious, especially when it came to the painfully shy lad in the bunch. And the third lad? Well, he was clumsy, but he meant well. All of them were surprisingly intelligent, even so much so that they exceeded my expectations, but that didn't stop them from being completely moronic. Their first mission consisted of baby-sitting and, I swear, if I hadn't been there, the three of them would have died. I'd never seen a more troublesome infant before and that lot had no idea how to take care of anyone but themselves. In truth, I really didn't either-aside from my brother, I never really had to look over anyone but me. It wasn't long before we realized that we were in trouble. I didn't know how to teach them how to change a child, nor how to feed one, nor how to keep it from squalling. It just so happened that my brother, in one of his surprising fits of thoughtfulness, popped by to drop off my, and my kids', lunch. He realized instantly what we were doing wrong, in regards to the child, of course, and set out to teach us. Yes, all of us learned that day. The children learned one of life's more important lessons: Don't duck your head when changing a boy's diaper or you'll certainly get yourself a golden shower. I learned...hm...I learned patience. Now, yes, I could wait in a line for hours waiting for orders, I could sit still for even longer on a stake-out, but it was during that mission that I learned to be patient with my kids. If it wasn't for my brother, I don't think I could have instilled any sense of pride or dignity within that bunch. No, I would have ruined them surely by snarling at their mishaps and waving off their triumphs. As it turns out, those first three held the strongest genin, chuunin, and jounin, troop of their time. They didn't turn out nearly as good as my own offspring though, another little lesson that mission taught me. I learned that I did have the capacity to be a mother, even if children were on my top ten things to stay away from in my early thirties. A few years down the road, though, I landed myself a husband, my fifth cousin, like it or not, and had myself a pup. And what a pup he was. I expected him to be everything the Uchiha clan stood for: Power, might, strength. He held none of those qualities, though, neither physically nor mentally. He was mediocre all across the board it seemed, but he was diligent. Constantly, he pushed himself, striving to make himself better than he was. He never seemed to get any better, but I rooted for him, as did my husband, and any adult who knew him. And yet, despite that, I found that I didn't want to watch him, I didn't want to see him fail at his attempt to learn a jutsu, to be beaten by a stronger kid his age, to fall flat on his face and humiliate himself. I discovered that I had never wanted a weak child and that was exactly what I ended up with. It wasn't until his first try at the chuunin exams that I learned to accept him for what he was: my child. He may have lost out in the first round, but he put up such a great fight, showing a true understanding of the way of the shinobi, that he literally stunned most of the crowd. Although he wasn't promoted, I understood that, while he may not be the best ninja ever, he was a valiant young man. He never disappointed me again. No, in fact, not many things did after that. That whole ‘you live and learn' cliche is true to us old folk. I was able to cope with most things that came my way, even the loss of my brother, my husband, my old friends. And now, I suppose I do only have loss to look forward to, as bleak as that may sound. But I suppose I'm ready for death. My curiosity has been piqued of course, considering that I, painfully obviously, have never died. Like someone once said, death is only the next adventure. I hope they are right. Yours, Uchiha Ankoku. Scenario 2: "Ouuuch[/size],” I let loose a sorry, pitiful groan, slowly massaging a bleeding bump on the back of my head. What happened? Closing my eyes both from dizziness and in an effort to concentrate, I tried to remember exactly what happened. A mission with Tsuika...Infiltrate Oto base...An ambush...Pain...Nothingness... I sat up bolt right, eyes wide in terror. My eyes, red suddenly from the Sharingan's activation, blazed around the room, trying desperately to analyze the situation. It only took me one glance to realize just how screwed I was. Four, thick stone walls, one painfully small vent, a couple of holes in the wall, and no windows. More importantly, no Tsuika. Oh, gods, was he dead? Would I see him again? My mind scrambled and was filtrated with horrible images of my best friend being tortured, ripped apart, electrocuted. Even so, my mind was also desperately searching for a way out. Nothing...Nothing...Wait! There was something! A stone was jutting out of the wall at a very odd angle and I smiled, coming to a conclusion. Crawling to it, I budged it with my hand and it fell like, well, a rock. From the crevasse held my escape, or at least what I thought was. It was an intercom with two buttons, one red, the other blue. Now, I'd never been a lucky person, but well, something was just tugging on me. Slowly, my palms sweaty from nerves, I reached out, pointer finger quivering. My breaths slowly quickened as my finger drew nearer and nearer to the perfectly polished, wonderfully round red button. The tip of my finger lightly turned white as it met the cool, smooth surface of the button. It too trembled, feeling the alien pressure of my finger, but it did not withdraw back into the cold metal box it was installed into. Taking a deep breath, my finger still on the button, I prepared myself to press it. ‘Now or never, don't punk out,' I thought to myself, setting my jaw and preparing for both the best and the worst. Just as my finger started to straighten out– "EROOOOG! Good morning my chickadee. Sleep well?” I shrieked so loudly that I almost didn't hear the rest of the speaker's sentence. My finger, naturally, withdrew from the intercom's button and I stumbled so far backwards that I slammed against the back so hard that I fell to the ground. Pale in the face, I stared at the intercom, eyes wide with terror and surprise. It actually worked? I had thought it was just for show. Again, it turned on, as though it had allowed me time to answer. "I hope you did because I-" The voice paused, breaking into the most sadistic sounding laughter I'd ever heard in my life. "-I want to play a little game with you. You shinobi are constantly toying and manipulating the bonds between villages, vying nation against nation, brother against brother–" Whoever it was talking continued to rant on, giving me a little time to think. By now, I had mapped out the room completely, trying to find somewhere, anywhere, I could escape. I could use that justu, yeah, not a problem! Gathering my chakra, my sharingan pushing to the surface, I leapt to my feet. The chidori, passed down only to the elite of the Uchiha clan, was apart of my arsenal of ninjutsu and it took me less than a minute to perform its needed hand seals, and concentrate my chakra into my left hand. If the voice behind the radio knew of my intentions, I couldn't hear it in his speech. So, quickly, before he did find out, I rushed the wall opposite myself, red eyes blazing and giving me any insight it could to help me lock onto my immobile target. My arm stretched out in a graceful arch, straightening as it neared the wall. A wild smirk wrapped itself about my face; I would be out of this prison in about two seconds! Finding Tsuika should be no problem after this! For the first time all day, such a wave of relief passed through me that my knees quivered. My palm slammed into the wall, chidori roaring it's plight. I expected my sharingan to slow down the movements of rocks and boulders that came crashing down, but no, something else happened. From the far right and left of the wall, something like lightning sped towards me even faster than my sharingan could follow. Before I could move my arm, the lightning traveled into my palm, up through my arm, and dug a path of unimaginable pain inside my body. The pain was so intense that it push all the wind from my body so that not even a scream of agony could release at least a fraction of its tension. Just as suddenly as the pain had gripped me, it shook me free, sending me spiraling across the room to slam against the wall opposite. It was just as my wits returned that I heard the ungodly laughter from the radio's voice. "So, it seems as though you discovered something about this wonderful little room I've created. Ironically, your little friend did so at about the same time against the same wall you struck, although his ninjutsu wasn't as unique as your own.” My blazing red eyes stared shrewdly at the voice box, my pants came out shakily as the man's voice started his speech again. Although I really wasn't interested in what he had to say, he gave me ample time to let my body rest and recover from the torture he'd dolled out. "You see, to stop you from escaping, as I'm sure you, such a talented Uchiha, would want to do, I was able to...convince a Cloud shinobi to perform an S-Ranked Cloud caging ninjutsu on each of the twelve walls (including floor and ceiling) you and your friend are entrapped in. Any blow, whether it be by taijutsu or ninjutsu, will cause the lightning to zone in on you and give you a nice little zap. Of course, if you both happen to hit the same wall at the same time, like you did before, the effect is quadrupled.” He paused, perhaps to give me time to absorb this information but, honestly, he needn't have. He surely had things taken care of: all exits were blocked, all escape routs had been sealed off, and she couldn't even pound her way out of here. "Now, here comes the real rules of the game. On the panel to your right, my left (yes I can see and hear you-" He'd broken off at my gasp of sheer surprise to laugh. I hadn't expected him to have installed cameras in the room and, even though it seemed unlikely because of the lightning jutsu, had them filming. "I haven't finished my explinatinon, so, quite please. On the panel to your right, you'll see two buttons, one red, the other blue. The blue button will allow you to talk to Tsuika, the red, hehe, will send a wave of a powerful poison that will kill him in approximately two minutes. However, he has the same panel and the same two buttons. As it so happens, I've already explained the rules to him but, unfortunately, he's not taken the opportunity to speak to you. Instead, he's slowly been electrocuting himself trying to bash through a wall; I don't believe he's even made a crack.” "YOU BASTARD!” I screamed, rushing for the panel to break it. Just as soon as my fist closed in on it, a burst of lightning shot out, capturing me and giving me a hard jolt. A yelp escaped me and I bounced unhappily onto the floor. Small, painless bolts of electricity rippled across my chest and arms before disipating away. I turned to glare at the panel, ignoring the man's laughter. "Nice try. Now, if you'll allow me to continue: You both have, starting...now have ten minutes to decide on one simple thing: Whose going to push the red button. If you do it, you'll kill Tsuika. If he does it, you die. Simple, no? Oh, and one final note, if neither of you press the button within ten minutes, you both die. Have fun...” Just as suddenly as he'd begun talking, the voice had silenced. A digital clock had suddenly lit up in a dark space on the panel, flashing a vivid, red count down. Desperation had now set in. Gotta get out, gotta get out! Probably like Tsuika himself, I slammed myself from wall to wall, using all the strength I could muster after each painful zap of lightning to get out. Nothing! My attacks had no effect aside from the burn of lightning. Finally, feeling defeated, I slumped down and glanced at the clock. My breath caught in my throat and tears of frustration and hoplessness sprung to my eyes: Five minutes and fifteen seconds remained. Slumping forward, my fate closing in on my, I gave a sob. To my right, I barely heard the soft ‘crrunk' of the speaker coming on. "Anko...? Anko, you there?” I jerked around, staring desprately at the control panel. Crawling forward, I helplessly groped at the blue button, struggling to press it in. "Tsuika! Tsuika? Is that you?” I gasped, sweat filtering down my brow, my finger jamming in the button so hard I thought I'd break it. "Yeah, it's me, Anko. I'm scared...What should we do? I...I don't wanna die,” Tsuika whispered to me. I could hear the fear in hs voice and I honestly couldn't say I blamed him. I, too, was scared out of my mind. "I don't know, Tsuika. Waiting will do us nothing. You should press the button and get out here,” I said finally. I heard Tsuika gasp in disbelief. I was the punk's senior by five years, but he was just as powerful. He'd been a genius since birth and been promoted faster than you could say, ‘suuuuke!'. He'd been put under my command, however, and it had been made clear that it was my responsibility to look after him. And what a mess I'd gotten him in to, so I figured that it was only fair that I died for him. "No, Anko-chan! You can't do that. Konoha needs you! Hokage-sama would be very mad at me if I let you die. You press the button...” He said quietly and I could hear the tears in his voice. "Silly, you're better than me!” "You're an Uchiha! "You're younger!” "You're older!” "You're stupid!” "You're stupider!” I sighed; this was getting us nowhere and I cringed as I glanced at the clock. Another precious minute had slipped away. It felt surreal knowing that someone had set the time and date of our demise, something that not even the gods themself were supposed to know. We were soo screwed. We both knew that neither of us would press the button and kill the other. No, we were better than that and besides, we were practically siblings. As suddenly as a chuckle started in my throat, a gasp of horor shook it away. A realization hit me: if one of us survived, that evil jerk who'd kidnaped us would have free reign to torture information out of us. Tsuika hadn't taken torture training and I, unfortunately, had barely passed. On top of that, we were both prime targets for information, as we were both intertwined directly for some of the more secret projects of Konoha. I could see only one outcome. "Hey, Anko-chan, I have an idea...” It seemed that Tsuika had come to the same conclusion. "Why don't we press it together?” We asked each other in unison. At this, both of us burst out laughing. I myself worked up to tears of mirth. Only a minute left... "Ready?” "Yeah.” "Love you, nii-chan.” I was laughing and crying at the same time, even as my finger extended to the red button. I heard him press his own as well through the intercom. Simultaneously, green gas began to fill our rooms. I was still laughing and crying, even as smoke filled into my lungs, cutting off my breath. I laughed until all the air had been sucked from my throat and, even as the room turned dark, my eyes glazed with my amusement. Even as the life left my body, a smile remained on my face, as I knew, at least, Tsuika and I would be able to laugh together in the heavens. Edited June 18, 2006 by kuratg Quote

Nappers Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 (edited) So many Uchiha-want-ins... I guess I will enter - under no will of my own @ Sako:- - I feel like a whore.. Name: Hyuuga Azumi Alias: Konoha's White Rose Gender: Female Type: Warrior Scenario Uno: The Lingering Petal of a Whithering Rose To who is unfortunate enough to discover this, Flicking through the brief pages of this of this book and you will flash through my passing moment in time. In my time I have seen new life brought into this world, and I have ended it as well. People act in a singular way when there is a newborn, a waterfall of happiness cascades through their body, and their hopes and dreams are projected at an instant onto the child. So much we ask for of those who have yet to gasp the nectar of life. This contrasts to what I have seen to those who are about to die; begging for their empty unfulfilled lives to be spared, spurting out empty promises in morbid fear of death. And there are those who accept it. Accept that they have reached their limit - that they can go no further, that they must pass in order for the new generation to continue. Those who are prepared for death are those who are truly valiant. Always I have been curious to how I would act when the timer for me tics its last seconds away. How do I feel? The honest answer – Incomplete. I have achieved greatness and yet I am unaccomplished. I do not beg for more time because I do not know what it is that I have left to do. So; what have I done that holds any value? To those around me they will speak of my duties as a servant to the Hyuuga and Konoha. Of the tales of my reconnaissance missions in Kiri and how it helped fell a conspiracy to assassinate the Hokage; and preventing a subsequent war. My progressions as a shinobi of the village and the rate at which… None of these things are important to me. They do not define me and they do not build who I am; remember this, our actions do not define us and we are not bound to them. All that we are bound to are the limitations that we place unto ourselves and all limitations can be broken… bar time. Time is fragile… Reader, you may wonder what I have done in my life that I find value in. It is quite simple really. I have loved. The single most important thing that we can do in life is to love another, and there is no greater feeling than to feel that same love back from them, to be in love. A single embrace with them may only last seconds but the feeling at the time is as though the two of you are hurling through eternity, clinging onto each other lest you fall and are separated forever across the hallways of time and dimension. All around you ceases to exist, it is just you and them and nothing can separate you. When you find love you must hold onto it forever for there is nothing more important than that, I know that now. Her name was Seb. Her crystalline blue eyes were what captivated me, what lured me to her that day when I came off the boats at the Kiri harbour. She held my hand with a gentle yet firm grip as she helped to hoist me ashore. When our eyes met it was as though reality tore apart and shattered around us like a pane of glass; we were left alone together in the darkness of non-existence. Albeit just moments; that is was the first, and only time that I felt what it is to love. People will tell you that love is many things. That love is trust. And that love is patience. These are both true. But what is it ‘to love'. Love is when you have no need of words to have a conversation, when you need only read their body to tell their emotion, when you can answer their questions without questions being asked. Love is when you can spend eternity with that person in silence and never be bored. Love breaks all barriers of time and space; it traverses all planes of existence. The greatest distance between two lovers could not prevent them from loving one another, from knowing how they each feel. They can cheer one another up with thoughts alone. There is no more powerful thing in our plane of existence than love. I lied to you before. And I am sorry. There is one greater feeling than to be in love; to have your heart broken. She cracked a piece of my heart the day that she passed. She was never afraid to die, and she was not afraid of losing me, she knew that we would meet again one day. That day is today. You may believe that I have told you nothing of my life. But if you read deeper into my wordings, I have told you the essentials of life and what it is to live. If you fail to see these things then I am sorry for you as you will have to go through many hardships in your life until you come to that revelation; what it is to live. It perhaps surprises you that I, a servant of war, to be talking of love in such a way. I must emphasise that it is not our actions that define us. I have been told that I come across to others as heartless and cold. That is just the portrayal from my subconscious of the horrors I have seen. Why do I omit them - Because I choose to. I want not to be remembered as a slayer of a thousand men. But as someone who loved… Unfortunately my traits will not be passed on genetically. Mine and Seb's circumstances never allowed us to have children. Being a Hyuuga would forbid the mixing of the pure line with another. Not to mention the obvious that she was female. With my writings here I hope that what I have come to learn as the important values of life will be passed on in memory. That what I have learnt will be remembered and retained in the memory of you. I can already hear your heavy breathing as you trudged through reading this. Thus I will give in and you a short anecdote of when I was fifteen. Travelling out of the country making my way to Kusakagure no Sato on a worn pathway, the stars lit my path. That night I met a stranger and learnt an important lesson. As I crossed the boarder into the country an elderly man crossed my path. He had a satchel on his back, a small box in one hand, and a walking stick in the other. I offered him a hand in carrying some of his equipment for it looked to be a little much for him, but he refused my help; I was not bothered about going out of the way to assist him although it would mean a delay in my arrival with the remainder of the team who had set off days before. I said to him: "Please let me assist you. It matters not where I go, what is important to me is that you are safe on your travels.” He replied, "To trust a stranger and be so willing is foolish and may lead to your ultimate downfall my child. What you do unto others may not be done unto you. Be aware not of what lurks in the shadows but of what dwells within” With that said he continued along in his direction, not taking a moment to look back. I stared at him for as long as I could see his movements until he was forever gone, consumed by the distance. I continued to meet my team mates, and I thought about his words for they had troubled me at the time. I did not know what his cryptic message indicated. Yet now I know the true meaning of his passing comments. For you I leave to ponder on this message. Reaching enlightenment of this comment by one's self alone is the only way in which you can grow and overcome further challenges which may lie ahead of you on your dim path. One clue I shall give you – You are the key. That time has come for me to leave now I'm afraid. My last desire is to stroll around the Hyuuga Estates one more time. To feel the warm suns caress a final time as I observe my grand family, the old and wise, and the young and fragile. We are all one in the same, tied not just by our blood, but by our love of each other. Family. Family is important; and I wish to say goodbye to all of them before I take my leave. I have an important date tonight with a lady that has been waiting for me for a long while now – it would be rude of me to keep her waiting. Do not miss me, for I have lived. Promise me that you will not tread light footsteps in life as I believe I had. You must stamp your feet so that your impression is left on the ground, so that your presence echoes throughout the corridor of time so that you are never forgotten. Adieu, Hyuuga 'Rosé' Azumi ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scenario Dos: A Bridge Faraway From Existence Sitting in the corner of the room I raised my head towards the grey ceiling. "Ten minutes…” I had long ago accepted my fate in this hopeless situation. The box of a room, with its emerald green tiled walls and damp stone floor had been my home for a while longer than I can think to remember. In the opposite corner was a drain, one could force themselves to insanity in trying to count to litres of blood that it has cleansed from this room. Above my head, the vent from which my release from this constraint called a body will be freed. Opposite me is a brown, reinforced steel door. Affixed to the ceiling in the corner - the watchful eye of a black security camera, its lens rotating and focusing on me, a trapped nuisance. Smiling, I raise my hands and place them a top my head. Hmph… In ten minutes you can live a fuller life than you might in a thousand years. You know that too; don't you Wild Flower? My thoughts speak on their own as my attention turns towards the drain. From it the echoes of a whimper burst out and resonate in my room. On all fours, I crawl over and lay beside the wall, my head rest by the drain. I opened my mouth to speak into the drain: "A Wild Flower once promised me that for as long as we are together that she will never be afraid. I told her that our love will keep us together for all eternity. Do you know what she said?” "She… She told you that a righteous man falls seven times and rises again. That as you are of pure spirit and mind that you shall rise from The River and be reborn to continue your duties here. That is what she said.” "Heh. That is what she said. I then told her that I am not bound to this existence, and that my love for her will break me free from my schakles so that I can be with her. That no being will impede my being with you in this existence or among the stars. Do you know what she said then?” "She said nothing. She looked at you as though you were a fool. But she loved… Azumi… I love you.” Her voice was broken as she contained the flood of tears within her. "Yuya… We have a lifetime ahead of us before I meet you again. A lifetime of further waiting before your fingers interlock with mine, before I can see you smile again. When next we meet, I want you to cry for me. Let go of all that you have held in while you have been here. Do not forget this feeling. This test that we must endure, for it will bind us stronger. What generations after us will consider our suffering, I want to remember as the moment that aided us in becoming one.” The seconds passed unforgiving as I awaited a response. Yuya always had to over think things, but my wordings never helped anything much. "I promise. Azumi…” "You have seven minutes remaining. The button. Press it. You cannot fool us Hyuuga Azumi, the slayer of a thousand men. You cannot hide from your actions; you must accept your fate – your punishment. Tell your whore of a girlfriend Suzume Yuya to press the button and quicken this for all of us. Six minutes!” Their words fell on deaf ears. I had never denied my actions. I had been waiting for this day for too long and I thanked it, my mystery judge – I thank you. "Hmph. What is it Yuya my sweet?” "You once told me. That we can be closer than we ever could be in this plane, in thought alone.” I laughed slightly, "That is right. Why do you ask?” "Close your eyes for me.” Without question I followed her instruction. "Come with me. To The Garden, you took me there once before. I wish to be with you again once more before we meet to continue our journey together.” The Garden was a place where I took Yuya to years ago. When we first seeded our relationship. It is where we first connected. In it is a single wooden bench carved from a single tree. The floor at its base was baron and dry but beyond that stretched a field. The field was the mother of an unthinkable amount of different tree's, from which bore enough food to sustain an entire village. A single river flowed through The Garden, branching off into the distance. Opposite the bench, across the river were Two Tree's, they bore an unusual fruit which even I Azumi daren't touch, and I forbid Yuya also. The Garden was not a place that existed on the Earth, a place that existed in thought alone. It is a place reachable only by the pure; I brought Yuya with me to share its beauty. Opening my eyes I awakened, sat on the right side of the bench. My hand was joined with that of another, looking across the bench I was met with the smile of Yuya. I placed my spare hand on her naked thigh. One is never able to bring any material possession with you into The Garden, only self in your natural form. I smiled at her as I playfully caressed her thigh, with the other hand I squeezed hers gently. "Thank you for coming here with me Azumi” she said, squinting her eyes as she smiled, a droplet streamed down her face as she did so. Releasing her hand I wiped the tear from her face. "Why would I not come?” I said giggling, taking both my hands back I ran my fingers through my hair. Holding it at one end, and placing it as a bunch over one shoulder. "How long do you want to stay here to postpone the inevitable? We could be here for days, months, even a moment in time if you wish.” "I believe we have only four minutes left. And I no longer wish to postpone our fate. Eternity awaits us, and she has been waiting for far too long don't you think?” she said as she placed a spare hand on my cheek. "Yuya! Have we been together that long? You're beginning to talk like me” laughing together a flock of birds burst from the tree whose branches hung over us, shading us from the sun. They darted across the crystal sky, their chirps awakening the lazy critters that lived in The Garden. The jade leaves showered on us; all the while we continued to laugh, not fazed by the startled birds or the cool touch of a fresh leaf. "Is this what it will be like when we travel through eternity together?” The innocence in her voice is something that grabbed my heart when I first met her. I simply nodded at her in response. I leaned in slowly and kissed her on her cheek, into her ear I whispered; "I was told once that the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death,” Brushing a stray strand of her hair back behind her ear I leaned away to my original position, "and we shall destroy him together. Eternity shall aid us, this she has promised me.” I paused for a moment, as the faint voice of children could be heard, looking upon Yuya's baffled face I smiled, "Don't be afraid. Can you hear them too? The singing of the Children of Eternity? Listen…” Shine bright, morning light Now in the air, the spring is coming. Sweet blowing wind, Singing down the hills and valleys. Keep your, eyes on me Now we're on the edge of hell. Dear my love, sweet morning light, Wait for me; you've gone much farther, too far. Shine bright, morning light Now in the air, the spring is coming. Sweet blowing wind, Singing down the hills and valleys. Keep your, eyes on me Now we're on the edge of hell. Dear my love, sweet morning light, Wait for me; you've gone much farther. Too far. "Hm. Eternity awaits us.” Looking back at Yuya, she had broken down into tears, her weeping grabbed my heart – my pale eyes filled with water. Grabbing her I stood her up as I raised from the bench. Wrapping my arms around her our bodies came together, her cool flesh on mine. Her hands met my back, stroking up and down my spine before holding me closer to her body – tighter. "You promised me Wild Flower…that you will not be afraid while we are together.” "I-I-I am not afraid Azumi. I am… Happy… During all my time I have wanted to go with you on your adventures. But I have been resigned to waiting for you. Sleepless nights, perhaps weeks go without a word from you. But now that will never happen for we will always be together. I will always be with you… And I don't need to worry ever again.” "My greatest adventure has been being with you my Flower. You are the innocent who I protect from the evils of this world. And in the next together. We shall live among the stars, and we shall burn far brighter than the rest as we guide others on their path.” "You always…” "Shhh… Don't speak. Let us savour this our last moment. I just want to say one more thing,” I took my chest away from hers, my head align with hers I stared into her cherry red eyes. "I love you”, she opened her mouth to speak but before she could get a single word out her mouth was sealed with my own. Opening my eyes I lay on the floor on the cold stone surface of my emerald prison. The drain on the floor was sealed by a metallic plate, the vents shifted open with the key to releasing me from my silent life and send me on a journey among the stars with fake wings. I stood up and walked to the centre of the room, starring into the camera I gave my final words: "A righteous man falls seven times and rises again. Today I leave this world for another but another will take my place and I will guide them. Whoever rewards evil for good, evil will not depart from their house and I shall never leave yours. I beg you to begin to repent for what you have done lest our next meeting be of ill intent. My name is Hyuuga Azumi. And I… I thank you.” The gas continued to fill the room. I closed my eyes as at last I had come to my end and new beginning. I will be with you soon. (T_T) {Personal note: If I don't get an offer, I officially blame this essay. Guest MrSako Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Just be creative... use only the conditions that I set. And yes, once the reset happens, we are all starting over. Even if the option to keep your Clan is offered, as the 'new' Clan Head for both Clans (when 5.0 comes) I will make the following announcement: Anyone who currently is a Hyuuga or Uchiha or who has those bloodlines via stealing or transfusion will have them removed with the reset/5.0. Other than that, please enjoy... and post everything here. Now, please go and post here if you are going to try out. If you have already posted, edit your post. If you make more than one post, it will not look favorably to me. Quote
Guest Ichi-kun Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 (edited) Name: Hyuuga Kieto Gender Female Clan Hyuuga Medical Nin Essay One Titled: Entity of One The open window spewed in sunlight refracting off the clear glass, the white drapes flowing elegantly in the cool summers breeze, a single desk and chair lay still in front of the window, slightly ajar. A young man of small stature sits, his legs crossed under the table, pen to paper but nothing written across the blank page. Curling his lower lip into his bright lush red lips, biting down upon it he pondered of what to write. Staring out the window at the sun slowly setting over the horizon cascaded over luxurious green hills, several lemon trees glistened from damp dew that lay evenly spread out amongst the orchard, birds chirping a melodic melody most humble to anyone's ear. Contemplating what to write, surly to be a last entry before the inevitable bestows him, for what one has done with a life such as his is at times regrettable but un-mistakenly something that is not for the faint of heart. For this journal lies the true thoughts of someone who is sought after like a fine wine, the older it gets the better it gets. Here lies the true thought of someone who was once thought of as a leader, a role model and above all someone who would be remembered. Knowing what lies in his future, his life no longer in his hands but in another, truly sad for the sins he had committed it would be time for him to repent. The pen etched on the paper, each stroke fluid and even, the ink settled on the paper leaving delicate words behind. His hand moved from side to side across the paper in a consistent rhythm, seemed the words had been planned . With the last stroke of the pen he signed the last page of the thick hardcovered book that he had been keeping his memories, his thought, his crimes, his life in. Thinking of a fitting way to end his own era he ended with five simple words after his signature. So long and good night. Standing up after sitting for what seemed like ages, brushing the hair from his face he stood in place staring out the window, the time had come. He slid the book into the drawer, replacing his pen for a sword, like the saying goes the pen was mightier then the sword, for this young mans journey the sword was mightier then the pen. Memoirs of Ketseuki Koumaru Dear journal, This will be first and foremost my last entry I will ever write in you, let alone write anything. I will take you through something that is somewhat of a mystical journey, but be warned the details of this tragedy are not for the light hearted. These are my thoughts, feelings and of course the things I have done over the course of my life, things im not proud of but the thirst to prove ones self outweighed the incoherent thoughts that dwelled in the back of my mind. My name is Ketseuki Koumaru, a shinobi, one that is not proud of their illustrious past but regrets nothing, this story is one of epic tragedies, from childhood to the present day, I will retell my tale, the tale of a genius and a madman. Really there is not much surprise that someone like me turned out to be cold hearted and malicious, is there really any doubt that I would not turn out this way? I call myself a genius, an inventor, a pioneer while others label me the title of freak, cruel, power seeking. Really all of those terms are interlinkable, and anomaly in themselves, without one label on can not self actualize and reach true potential. Or so I though at one point in my life. As much to contradictory belief I am in fact a man of brilliance, a man who fell in love with their own legend, surly someone who has achieved so much in so little time would be infatuated with their self. I hope whoever reads this can appreciate the coldness of the world and fathom what it was like growing up as me. I did not come into this world with anything nor do I intend to leave it without something. Without much timeleft to talk I guess I should start with the person I was not the man who I became. If the world was not so cruel to me, would I have turned out this way? It is a question I ask myself on a daily basis but whom I am does not concern you does it, you are wondering why I turned out the way I did? Many years ago I was born and raised in a broken home, sure I had parents and a brother with sister as well, but is their a point to a family if there is no love, no compassion, no connections? At the time I assumed that everyone was the same, that no ones parents loved them, I gave myself false pretenses that I could move on, but deep down, rooted inside of me lay a dormant personality. Oh sure I was a happy kid, I could put on that happy visage to manipulate who ever I wanted, I could never reveal that the true me was not the real me, but someone else. That is where the true problem lies, there is two me's, a twisted, cold hearted killer on the inside. And a mild-mannered push over. Of course attending school brought out the good side of me, but what happens when you add cruelty and despair in the picture? You get an attitude that resents what is given to you. I was made fun of heavily as a child, my years at the academy were not the best years I encountered. My skill was limited, my ambition thrown to the wind for something as meaningless as a girl. The true crime was not that someone had told a lie to the girl, that I was stupid and useless and she was lead to believe, but the true crime was that it went unpunished, no retribution until later in my life. Graduating the academy was not an easy task for someone with limited skill as I, still even as a Gennin I was made fun of by the other kids, put down for being reserved and quiet. Here is where the downward spiral began. Being a dual personality person is not hard when both personalities are roughly the same, but when one is a push over and the other a dominant violent ruthless killer then there is a problem. My team consisted of three other Gennin, me being the weakest was made known to me by the others. The blame always cast on me when something went astray, why? Because it is easier to pin the blame on the weakest link of the chain, but if the chain breaks then the engines stop running, you severe the ties between teammates leads to distrust. On one of out missions I was teamed up with another boy, the boy who had given me the hardest time growing up. We were climbing on a steep rock face, attempting to take a short cut that he had recommended but I insisted we go around. He fell from the cliff and I grabbed onto his arm as he fell, all that held onto his life was my hand. What if that hand were to slip? Would years of torment and ridicule become retribution or would it lead to suffering? At this point the dormant personality was out, he was out for good. I laughed hard in his face, a twisted smirk smeared across my face. I could see the fear in his eyes as he started into the face of pure evil, the face that would soon be most feared, my face. The last word I said before my life changed for ever was "sorry.” Why would I be sorry for someone who made my life miserable, who allowed me to succumb so such pain? I was not sorry as I let go, and I will never be sorry for anything else I decided to do from that day forth. Soon after his tragic death my true powers became realized, with my true personality comes great power, powers that I would let swarm my soul, engulf me in strength and vanquish my worthlessness. From then on I became what they refer to as a mad man, a twisted demon who's soul goal was power, but I would not let that stop me, labels are but words, words that can be placed on anyone and taken away by anyone. I would let the world know my name, let them see my true strength. Within a few years my powers were limitless, every new day brought additional power, my normally calm secluded self became outgoing and manipulative. I became a squad leader of the elite unit they call ANBU, a special unit designed for my new passion killing. We were tailing after a Nukenin or what they call a missing nin, someone who has betrayed their village. This man had stolen a scroll with secrets of the village would benefit anyone who read them and leave them to suffer. My unit was highly skilled and captured the Chuunin, we questioned if he had read any of the scroll which he had admitted he had, he started to reveal the contents of the document. It had the secret, that lead me to who I am today, that one sentence and that sentence alone turned me into a ruthless killer. It was way to become immortal, a way to live forever, incased in ones own love for themselves. Feeling a way to free himself from chains of restrictions, the thirst for power was insationable, right here in front of him was the key for becoming the ultimate power. Something inside my mind snapped, this secret could not get out, this secret was for my eyes only and no one else's. Before anyone could react my sword was out and I killed my squad, the thirst for power was to much, they could not understand what it meant to be me, weak and worthless, but now, now im able to show the world why I should be god, I alone shall conquer all. Of course I feel in love with myself, basking in the self fulfilment that I had found, the scroll was mine and mine alone. Its contents hard to read, but the formula was complex and needed more human sacrifices. I decided that to gain immorality I would need to kill, and that's what I did. I killed many before they realized where I was hiding, I too am now a Nukenin, someone who up to recently I was sworn to kill. Further analysis of the scroll leads me to believe that the forbidding technique is far more complex then something Im capable of. There is no chance that I am able to preform the jutsu and become immortal, I know at the present time there is an army on their way to get me, but I leave you with this, my faithful reader: Is there any possible way that the life I lead could have been different? It's the classic case of nature vs. nurture, was I born this way, sick and twisted. Or constant years of cruelty that lead me to the way I am. I hope whoever reads this can find that answer, whatever good is left in me is begging for a way to stop myself from killing again, but I can't control it. They are outside my door, I can hear them, the only thing left for me to do is to take as many with me as I can. So long and good night. Forever True, Ketseuki Koumaru Essay 2 Titled: Adulation of Brothers Kouza (Me)- speech Kouza - thoughts Tobikomi - speech Others speech "This is suicide, why would the Hokage send just us two for a recover mission, is he insane? Ni-San why are you not saying anything, you have to listen to me, we need to turn back. We can just lie to him, we can tell him that they moved their base of operations. Please Ni-San, im not ready for this, don't make me do it!” I said to my older brother, both of us looking strikingly close in appearance but he is much different than I. My voice cracking in anxiety the nervousness was slowly getting to me. The other shinobi, my brother looking calm and collective as ever came to an abrupt halt, standing on the edge of the cliff staring down a small village. Loud cheers and laughter could be heard echoing through the chasm, we stared at each other, our gaze not parting until he spoke. "Listen to me, your going to be fine, I know this is your first mission as a Chuunin, but your with me. Don't have to worry I will protect you.” The last words dug deeper than any kunai ever could cut, words such as those, elegantly used flowing together, it seemed time stood still after hearing those words, a sense of security swept over the me. A gently breeze tossed my long hair from side to side across my now pale sickened face, we looked determined to achieve what was needed to be done, recover the stolen weapon but deep down I was more scared then a mouse fighting a lion. The team of two brothers is a name I gave to us since we are in fact blood related, two men but our hearts beat as one. We sat down on the cliff edge, our feet dangling over the edge the silence of the night, darkness spreading over our souls, fear slowly creeping up. "Ni-San? What happens if were caught, I mean will they kill us or ask for a ransom? Im scared to be captured, tormented, killed. Please I ask you one more time wait for backup they should be here by dawn, its only a few hours away, I cant take it! I can't do it! Don't make me do it! My brother grabbed my face, held it near and dear to his own, his hands soft, delicate like a child but his piercing stare was cold like a man who has seen what we have seen. "We have to do this, I have faith in you!” For the first time in my life my brother put any sort of acknowledgment in my skill as a shinobi. But was it too little too late, was he purposely doing this, making me get a false sense of security and luring me into his own wheel of greed. Taking the mission for himself and not waiting for backup, was this his way of trying to be a hero and take the glory. "Ok, they have started taking shelter for the night, now is our chance when most of them are asleep. Stay on me, never part more then two feet from me, got it?” We both leapt from the cliff landing perfectly silent on a tree branch only seconds away from the main gates, the gates were black and gave off an eerie feeling of uneasiness. Infiltrating the village would be the easy part, the hard part would sneaking past the guards and snatching the weapon back without arousing suspicion. The air thick with tension, it was sticky and hard to breath, a figment of ones imagination or, reality sinking in that this mission was a death sentence. Time seemed to stand still, the inevitable succumbing to this, my brothers hand reached around the guard's neck, twisting the bones, snapping them like twigs. Tobikomi grinned maliciously, a sadistic grin smeared on his face, was he enjoying the killing of others, this is not the brother whom I had before, the kind hearted leader who's sole goal was to help, not to lead a death march. The alarm cracked the nights silence, men yelling, sounds of metal clanking, they were battle ready, but the question was, were we? We tried desperately to escape but were quickly circles enticed with the feeling of no escape, outnumbered at least fifteen to one. I contemplated giving up, not wanting to die as I knew we would if we were to fight. Fear taunting me, a voice in the back of my mind telling me to fight, don't be afraid, incoherent thoughts swirled in my mind, two distant voices bickering back and forth. No time to react Tobikomi jumped at the chance for a fight forming handseals as he ran into a large group of men, his face deemed insane, the look of a demon. "Ni-San no! I need your hel....” My words faded, I could feel my eyes narrowing, seeing nothing but black, fading into unconsciousness. Dreams churned in my head, thoughts, memories of good times we had, memories of laughs and smiles, memories of a time when things weren't so bleak and dismal. But now nothing could prepare me for the upcoming events, the true sinister potential of the human race. I was trapped in a cell, bars thick as my wrist, no chance of breaking out, was this the end of me? Would I really be left here to rot, would there be a chance I would be let free, if they found out who we are maybe they would release us, not wanting to start a large scale war. We were Shinobi of the Mist, these men, of the Sand, ruthless killers? I hoped not, for my life was in their hands, that word life, it can be thrown around so nonchalant but its something that is important to sustain one's soul. So I thought at the time, life, so precious to some but to others something that can be thrown away like a piece of garbage. My body numb with pain, all over my body bruises were covering my skin, these men must have beat me even when I was unconscious, the cruelty of human nature. Across from my cell was another one, a man lay face down with tattered clothes, even from the distance I could see blood slowly oozing from him, the smell of blood was thick in the air. My bright blue eyes half sealed shut from a beating that ensued earlier, but non the less I was able to recognize the man lying in that cell. "Ni-San! Wake up, wake up, don't leave me like this, you were going to protect me, you let me down!” I cried, warm tears pouring down my face. "Always the same, crying. Do you ever get tired of being weak and useless, why can't you be strong like me. I at least fought I even took a few down wit me, but you, you stood and watched me lose the fight not to mention my pride. Do you know what it feels like to be a loser, well of course you do, I mean look at you, you're a disgrace. You bring shame to our family, you're a loser and you always will be!” This was not my brother, he loves me, this man was cold hearted and bitter, my brother whom I loved was not this man, an illusion? No, this man before me is indeed my flesh and blood, my brother. "Don't put this on me, you know all my life its been my fault for everything, don't tell me how it is! You have no right, im always in your shadow and now because of you we are stuck here left to die, for once in your life listen to me, I was right we should have waited!” The words poured from my mouth, I had never been this angry before. "Kouza im sorry, I should have listened to you, its my fault for landing us in here.” He was going to say more but the door swung open and several masked men came in, their faces hidden from being seen. "In ten minutes time, both of your rooms will fill up with a deadly nerve toxin that will kill you instantly. However, the large red button on each of your walls will send the gas into your brother's cell. This will allow you to escape, whoever hits the red button shall live, but if neither of you press the button then you will both die. Remember they have the same option as you so try and use discretion, enjoy!” The men left the room leaving my brother and I staring at each other, speechless, lost for words a feeling of hate brewing inside of me. After all it was his fault for getting us captured, that button tempting me, taunting me, asking for it to be pushed. I can't. He is my brother, my flesh, my blood how can I make the decision for him to die, it is not possible. "Should I press it? It would be so easy.” We kept gazing at each other, still lost for words, my mouth dry. He smiled, like he had before when I saw him kill that man, what was this? Was he planning on taking the easy way out, letting me die to save his own hide? "Should I press it?” My brother stood up and walked over to the red button, placing his hand around it as if toying with it. "Give me one reason why I should not press this button? If you do, ill let you press your button and I will die without a fuss.” "How can you even thin....” My words ceased, I didn't even finish what I was going to say, my brother, my soul pressed the button, the gas started seeping into my room. I could feel my lungs swell up with the toxin, my breathing became shallow I could feel my throat closing up and sealing my fate. The last view I ever saw was my brothers face, smiling twisted, that smile was the last thing id ever see, my own brother laughing, laughing as I lay dying. I could feel the warm sensation of tears streaming down my face, why? Someone who swore they would protect me is the one killing me, even worse then the pain of death is knowing the pain of sorrow. If only I had pressed that button. Essay 3 Titled: Picture Perfect "Another gallery event eh? They even want me to host it and be the final judge of the art pieces. Im sure its going to be as tasteless as ever, I have yet to see a good piece of these functions, frankly im a little apprehensive of doing this. It's the third one this year and always filled with such ignorant people who are just here for the novelty of it. Can you pass me my shirt dear?” His voice, slowed in pace bland at best, his monotonous tone sounding borderline reluctant to do the job that he choose. The art gallery was having an event showcasing this years new and up coming talents. But it was just another excuse to have the rich and glamorous having an justifiable reason to spend their money so trivial. Con artists are what he called them, the whole gallery was having no real reasons for throwing these events, just a way to make money. "Are you honestly going to be wearing that dress dear, it does not compliment your curves very well, I suggest you wear that ravishing red one that I bought you.” His voice sounding just as dry and drivel as before. The ride there was silent and long, the couple were more of a show couple rather than a loving couple. He was a wealthy art lover whose soul job was to stare at particular art pieces and give his opinions on them. Helping her damsel out from the car, he took her hand, taking her elegantly by the hand, kissing the black gloves that matched so celestially with her striking dress. Walking into the mosaic of different culture that were always attending such events. The lights so bright you almost needed to squint and the light refracted off the crystal chandeliers cascading even more unnecessary light. They were directed to the main stage where he had to make a speech to the public and explain why they were all there. His speech was slow and stagnant, the way the words came out you could tell that he was not into it. "Now lets us reveal the art!” He yelled, for the first time his voice had meaning behind it, it was jubilant. The large crowd made their way over to a large wall, the background on the wall painted marvelously with the entire wall as one large painting. Six large painting hung on the wall, all of them covered by a crimson drape, a gold rope hanging beside each one. "Now I will unravel the masterpieces and judge the winner! Upon choosing the winner it will forever hang on our gracious walls while the other paintings will be put up for auction. I hope you all brought your checkbooks.” The sheep roared with laughter, any joke involving money was gold to these kind of people. They were like children, when they get what they want they fall in line, but show them something wrong and it's like a temper tantrum. "The first piece, shall we see what it is?” He pulled the golden rope causing the crimson cloth to fall to the ground revealing the painting. Quiet talking began as the people talked amongst themselves, others said nothing but stared and they always made the same face, their heads tilted on an angle looking puzzled at the pictures. Was there a reason you had to tilt your head to admire pieces of art? When the talking had ceased the next picture was unraveled. The same familiar talking began and the same people stared at it. The same procedure was used in the rest of the pictures until the very last one. "And now, the final piece of art of the night!” His voiced trailed at the end, sounded very much disappointed with the previous works of art. As the drape fell off this one, his reaction was like nothing like the other ones, he was speechless, this was the work of a genius. Dropping his glass on wine of the floor, he did not care he still stared at the painting. "I do believe we have a winner, this years winner is quite something. This is most likely the best piece of art I have ever seen!" Still taken back at the work of art, he sat at his desk writing a report about the winner for the local newspaper. He tried to think of what to write but the words were much too arduous to think of, what words could possible describe such beauty. Pondering hard for quite sometime, he finally thought of something to name it. "Picture Perfect” The report for the gallery was even harder, he had to write a detailed synopsis of what the picture looked like for the archive records. His pen etched the paper leaving behind trails of dark black. The winning painting is a paradox in itself, the colors jump off the page as if to say look at me and don't look away. It was Renaissance influenced with the background with bright blue skies and the sun streaking in the sky. Large roman pillars surrounding men kneeling with their heads up looking at what appeared to be their leader. The apparent man or god on an elevated rock his hair flowing in the wind, his face stern and menacing at the same time. Such a fearsome looking leader would intimidate his subordinates into submission. He gave off a powerful aura through the colors the artist used, the blend of these were beyond words. Every detail appeared to have been planned and made with swift skill, each elegant brush stroke brings its own story, its own gracious beauty. His sword still in its sheath, thumb on the hilt ready to be drawn made to believe these men were of battle stature with commendable respect. "By far the best painting ever, its picture perfect.” Edited June 4, 2006 by Ichigo Quote
Ravage Nocturne Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 (edited) Ravage Nocturne--Uchiha "Copycat" Asher [Essay One/Two--The Ironic Fates] ((Merged the first and second assignment together. Should be about 4k words. Memoirs alone are boring. I also altered the second essay's scenario slightly, to help aide the story. Hope that's all right, since it's the same circumstance)) Curling supple fingers around the handsome quill, the smooth hand reaches to a small ink well, dipping the tip of the feathered utensil into the scarlet liquid, cautiously brushing the thin tip across the edges of the container before gracefully maneuvering the pen across the parchment, leaving traces, lines, and intricate lettering upon the paper, crimson ink drying slowly, into a darker shade as exhalation spills upon the conclusion. Signing the letter, he drops the quill into the ink well, and seals it with his ring. Void like eyes scan the introduction, thin lips dampened with a tongue, alabaster skin tightening as a faint smile tears through the definite structure of the face. The immobile smile struggles to rise, but instead fades into a silent grimace of sorrow, and detest. Dropping the quill upon the paper, the young man rises to his feet, dusting off his naked shoulders, and inhaling sharply. Closing his eyes, he rejects the persuasive tears that begin to slowly flow upon his sullen cheeks and countenance, deftly wiping his tears with his hand, before grasping the dirty letter with his hand, and sliding it beneath the doors of his prison. Glancing up to the ceiling, his mouth curls around silent words and vowels, before finishing his silent prayer. Opening his eyes, crimson as the way blood is seen, he washes his face with burning tears. "FORGIVE ME." -------------------------------------------------------------- The Memoirs of Nanashi-- Uchiha Asher Dear reader, This compilation of the life and times of a forgotten hero are not recorded for the viewing pleasure of the fickle mind, but perhaps morre devoted to the broken heart of another lost soul. This excerpt is the account of I, Uchiha "Nanashi" Asher, the nameless rendition of the shadow of others. I pray that this letter shall not leave you with a sense of weakness or distress, but instead, help you reveal the hope that does lay in the pit of your heart and soul. I leave not a tangible reference or material object, but this will is to persuade the intelligent mind to write their own destiny, and not have it written for them. Temptation is nothing more than the feat that compels us to satisfy. Success is overcoming these obstacles, and proving your satisfaction through lack. True happiness, perhaps, is nothing more than being content with imperfection of reality. I have no sons, and I have no daughters. I have no father, and I have no mother. My brothers and sisters have long since perished, and I am the last of my family. Others of my blood do still walk this earth, but none hold the same level of connection, bond, that my immediate family did. I have no will to leave, aside to a reader of fate's choice. I have no possessions to pass along, besides this letter. Perhaps the wisdom contained in this document will be enough. I pray that the contents of this letter will inspire the reader to pull above what I have, to save their own self. The obstacles in my life that took me by surprise, these are what truly what had warped me, and turned a good heart into a wicked one. Perhaps, this will be my atonement... It all begins the same way. Bright kid with a bright future. Nothing can keep them down, and no evil in the world can tempt them away from their unbreakable dreams. You see, it's kids that have it all right; forget everything that isn't in your agenda, and strive for what you believe in, no matter what the cost. Perhaps we, the adults, should take a lesson from them, for once. However, as age deteriorates youth, this state of mind is broken, and the less important things concern the child. Over time, everything but what is wanted is lost. Instead of dreaming of things that should be neccessity, only things that are lusted for are desired. What simpletons, we all are. How pathetic is it, that we lose sight of what really matters, all for the sake of useless possessions and positions? Who really needs strength? Who really needs control? In the end...I thought I did. It had been a hot day, when we had first graduated from that academy. Back in those days, I had figured that my life would have been nothing more than the adventure that the child's mind lusts so dearly after; the temptuous taste of danger and fear, right at my eager fingers. It had been of my interest to graduate so highly in my class, and to form rivalries with others, perhaps due to my hapless nature, and craving for purpose. A foolish and ignorant mind preys on others to feed the ego. That is, those rivalries were crafted in interested to keep me excelling, and having purpose to succeed. What a feeble mind, in retrospect, did I have. I had always been told of my latent potential, my bounding leaps of probable growth and success, but hadn't the faintest Idea that I was nothing more than the product of a cruel typicality...with great power comes with a tragic downfall. Even the greatest die without honor. No true legend is remembered, and the greatest heroes are the martyrs, that die for a reason that ascends above all that may be understandable by a sane mind. Who would have believed that fate would have landed me in such a situation? Konohagakure, the Hidden Village of Leaf, within the Fire Country...this was my home. This is where we all (my blood kin) once lived. We had developed our talents with fire that had surpassed the levels of most. We held the ability of the Sharingan, which allowed for an exceptional edge in battle and wars. We were used for our talents by the country, and in return, betrayed it. If you are of a calculating mind, keep this in your thoughts: For every Uchiha you see, there is a seventy percent probability that he will abandon his country for his own good, and in the end, serve his penance for his sins by an early death. These kinds of Uchiha, they don't live past thirty. The criminal Uchiha, they always get caught, and they are always publicly executed. There's nothing badass about a criminal's beheading. However, the few Uchiha that do not follow this path, they rise to greatness. It is said that perhaps the next pure-hearted Uchiha will rise to Kageship. The complete ruler of a country, it is possible to be held by an Uchiha, despite our high rates of falling out. Perhaps, it is indeed easier to swallow a sword, than it is pride. This, is our curse, you see. We will always fall by our own doing, no one else's. We have perhaps the greatest blood within us, and we tactlessly use it, and die a fitting death for it. Why it is, exactly, the gods curse us with the pestilence of pride, I cannot figure. However, I do know that it is possible to rise above fate, and this is why this letter is being left to you, dear reader. I must encourage you to not die by the hand of fate, but instead, to choose your own undoing. Do not fall because life tells you to, but instead, fall where you find it most fitting. Do not seek power, for in the search of power, you lose it. Do not search for love, because when you do so, you will be blinded, and forget what love is. Seek nothing more than the future. Put your sails to the wind, and blow against it. Make turbulence with fate, do not give it an easy path into your soul. Never surrender what you are, dear reader. Hope is the only thing we've got left. Seperation anxiety; it's the fear of departing that which you know for certain, and entering a void of the unknown. Everything you once took for granted, swept away. This is the point where we lose ourselves, and seek to devise a world with our own hands. We cannot do this; we are not gods, and therefore, may not create our own world, and dominate it. This is our fatal flaw. We must learn to adapt, and not fear that which we do not understand. For every step we take forward, make sure to not take two steps back. It is indeed a difficult thing to surrender this fear, but it is required so certain for strength of heart, that it must be done. For one with the heart of a god is the one who will obtain true strength. I, it seems, am not fit for this title. I will never obtain it, for I have forgotten myself. I screwed up, as we all do when we allow our arrogant perspectives of our own selves reach our heads. The moment we lack a clear grasp of reality is the moment we are downtrodden, and defeated. My blood, it holds this curse of arrogance. This belief that we are capable of lifting oursleves above all others, and obtain the title of a god. We are, in fact, ultimately in full belief that our clan is destined for godship. Ironically, this askew view has landed each and everyone of us in our mortal grave. Mortality is a cogwheel that is fit in every piece of machinery in creation...without this important mechanical aspect, the whole will not function. If the wheels will not turn, no motion will persuade the machine to function. Such is true greatness. I had been a fool to never research our forefathers, for every account does hold proof that we share the same end. Our loyalty lies within our own selves, and none other. We will betray our loves, our country, and everything one could hold dear, all for the sake of our own greed. Our avarice is our sin, and our pride is evidence to sentence us to our natural conviction. Although I swore an oath to my country, in the end I had abandoned it in search for true existence, as had my ancestors. It is surprising that we are at all anything more than an infamous definition of criminal. Why, it is, exaclty, that we do exist at all is baffling to me to this day. Why does our homeland accept us, and not exile our evil ways? Why are we trusted at all, and not hunted to extinction? Where has our ultimateum been all this time, besides in our own hearts? I have foolishly sought power, and thus have been guided to my fate. Of course, true sin is punished such that we are unable to resist it. That is, if we care not for ourselves, it endangers others. Thus, perhaps it is indeed my fault for the one I love to be by my side, even at a time such as this. Perhaps it is love that should be sought. Perhaps love is the ultimate level of power...not the power to rule others, but to condemn the heart as your own. Perhaps it is the very key to satisfaction, and the only way to save our blood. Dear reader, I am a criminal. I am the low-life you read about in your studies in the academy. I am a murderer, a thief, a consumate liar, and the ravager of all that is good in this world. I have more blood than may be comparable than the sand within a watchglass, the same glass that times my own fate; the ironic twists of life should take me not as surprise. I have been captured by my homeland, and put on trial. Found guilty, without a plea any one way from my person, I was convicted for execution. However, the woman I love, that damnable loyalty, has persuaded the authority that she was in fact the criminal mastermind behind this all. I suppose she does love me, despite my whole life's rejection of the possibility of such a love. Perhaps this entire time I had pushed away the possibility of happiness, I had it all along, my ignorance blinding me only further than my natural foolishness. Her plea has landed the two of us in a peculiar situation of fashion. Who could honestly hold such a judgement to a curiously out of the ordinary 'criminal' angel? So, the idea came around, to spill the truth. Seperation through thick walls, and grated ventilation systems dappling the floor, walls and ceilings, information has been passed along that a toxin of fatal properties will be released in a mere twenty minutes from this exact moment. Now, confession is pressured for survival. Admittance to the deeds recorded in the documents taken previously will be acknowledged by death. A red button holds the power to take the life of the other (in this case, my love) in hopes to prove that the one whom presses the button shamefully admits to their lover's guilt. I suppose in a psychological sense, it could be falsified, but the system has yet to be abused. If I press this button, the woman I love will choke upon the toxin, and I will be set free to wander the world once again, as a carefully watched and evaluated exile. Either way, I am convicted. One way will result in extending my pitiful life, the other in contradiction. Will she press that button? She is innocent of every charge. She, the embodiment...no, personification of goodness and virtue, has never dipped those fingers into the blood of another without doing so in hopes to compress a wound. No vile sin has plagued her soul's record. She has every reason in the world to admit her lie, and send me to my well-deserved grave. However, the one obstacle that stands in her way, is that acursed love. Her undying devotion to me, despite her knowledge of my rotten heart. She told me, earlier, that she believes that I will overcome who I am, and with her death, will aspire to become a better person. You will be a hero of enormous, secret change, she assured me. But, the question is, if I do let go of this person, the one I finally understand as my love, will I truly hold the potential to become a better person? Will I not indulge in my hatred, my sins once more, with guidance from a rampant, broken heart? Do I have the hero's heart? Will I admit my guilt, and signal for the guard? Will I commit myself to death to save her life, and live as both a criminal legend, and as a legend of true love? Or will I instead abuse her love, take advantage of her soul and good heart, and take her own life, by either failing to admit to my sins, or by blaming her own precious soul? There is no heroics in cheating death. The true heroes are the ones that die for a reason. The real legends are the ones that are forgotten. The kind you read about, but never really understand. The criminals or heroes in history, the overlooked reality. Not the typical daily belief in new-age heroics. Even the bad guy can be a hero. The question is, do I have the courage to rise above my fears, my selfishness, and my own pride? Will I have what it takes to surpass my own desires, to save the life of the innocent? Will my wicked mine tempt me into living my own life, while taking hers? Oh, what an unjust world, and what a plague that has stricken me. Like a puppet I dance upon the cruel stage that life has presented, all in hopes that I may one day be cut free. However, it seems that even the gods have a sense of irony, and that they too enjoy the typical tragedy. Amusement...perhaps that is all I am, entertainment. It's a curious thing, the level of enjoyment that is expressed through the guards. Every day, before lunch, there is a period where the guards are allowed to gather, and take turns 'questioning' the prisoners. Of course, this translates into the typical beatings and unjustified torture that you see in old movies and in books. And as I sat before them, receiving whatever punishment they found themselves to be in the mood of dishing out, I began to wonder about the woman I loved. Did she too undergo such treatment? Did she endure worse? Why would she, that is, take so much pain, for me? Were they raping her, beating her, abusing her body? Would you truly stand fast in such a situation, all for the sake of me? Am I worth protecting, desite my crimes? Can such an ugly heart still be loved so dearly? The only smell that could be termed as having a more distinct flavor would be the sewage-like molds and debris. This small room, there's this drain; well, it's where all the piss and shit go. This is where all the sweat, blood, and body fluids go down, when they are spilled in excess. For sure, mine have many times reached the point where they had to open it up, and remove a tooth that had stuck in it, and caused it to back up. This process occurs due to the vacuum of pressure that is used to 'suck' up the fluids. When the air flow is blocked, pressure builds up; the only way the pressure can go, is down. Problem is, the bottom is packed with piss, shit, and other materials, so it can only push up. This causes all the shit to rise up, and explode into the room. Yeah, I recall this occurence coming about at least three times this month. All that crap they teach you at the academy, you find is useful after all. It's easy to keep your mouth shut, even when they drill the first bit into your supple thigh. You can still keep your cool as they cut your wrists, and pull out your hair. You can hold any guilt within you, even when they resort to burning your face and your body. Threats such as severence of the tongue, and plucking of the eyes; these things are empty threats indeed. For sure, if the authorities had any idea of this kind of activity, the guards would get it, even if it was expressed on prisoners. This shit is illegal in even the worst of places. But, you give a good injury or two, the kind that doesn't look bluntly like it couldn't be an accident, and you get off free. Even if it's a burn to the face, which can't really be explained, as long as it isn't drastic, they can turn their head at the happening. It's a sick world we live in, but, what can you do? I do recall the head of the guards continuously blessing us with his scrawly appearance every so often, seeking to drive the answer out of us without having to keep this charade up. They figure, if they can get it earlier, and not take two lives, they don't lose anything. However, due to my unsure nature, and my lover's stubborn love, neither of us did indeed take the blame, each and every time. What an asshole I am...endangering her life, simply because I fear death. I can't free the one person who meant anything to me, because I care more about myself. The only person in the whole world who would put their in such danger for mine, and I'm taking advantage of that. I'm using her. She does this out of love, holding silence. I do it for my own self. What kind of person am I, really? I guess...I know in my heart what it is that I should do, but demons dance around my countenance, persuading me to press that button, and be done with it. If she is so willing to die, than let her, and let me free. But then, if I were to do such a thing, then I would truly no longer be human. This situation...if I were either a hardened criminal or a decent man, would be no problem for me. I would either kill her, or myself. If I were of pure evil, I could press the button. If I were of good, I could call for my own death. However, I am stuck between the two, in this disgusting form of confusion. I stand a man of disbelief in self, and unsure footing. My soul...it's contents lost, my heart, so unwilling to choose a side. I'm such a fool, and a coward, for not doing the right thing, or even the wrong. This is why I must do what I believe is right, for me. I know my heart, and know it is a cruel one. But perhaps I can change it. Perhaps, with a little more time, I may die a man of not sin, but of virtue. With every small step taken, I believe that I may be able to atone for my sins in life, and then, not have to do so in death. Perhaps I may escape hell yet. This is why I have made my decision. This is why I must do what I believe in so powerfully. I must tear myself away from my emotions, and do what is right. They say that you must follow your heart...well, what if it is misleading you? What if the heart is the most crafty and deceitful of all? Perhaps this love that I feel is nothing more than a brainwashing systematic technique that fate has devised? Perhaps she is allied with fate, and seeks to bring me to my end! Was this all a vicious plot of some sort? I cannot stand for this. There must be freedom, and it's so close to my reach. There is a time for love, and a time for logic. This time calls for logic, not heart. I must be free. Goodbye Dear Reader, You will see me around, doing good. You will be the only one to know of my past, and will know that I have changed. Freedom awaits me, and hell I shall escape! Uchiha Asher Little did Asher know, the moment he reached for the button, his fingers stretching closer and closer as he closed the gap between his body and it, his lover had finally broken. They say that no matter what, someone will always break; it just takes time. As much as she loved him, she could do it no longer. With nothing to do but think about the situation you got yourself into, it isn't strange to find yourself talking yourself out of the original intentions. You finally realize that it is a trivial matter, and far less important than originally thought. When you love a criminal, you will always wonder if the change is truly possible. In this case, it was not. The moment his fingertips touched the rusted button, the burning sensation in his nostrils alerted him to the invisible death. Mere seconds rendered him paralyzed on the ground, body thrown into convulsions as it attacked his brain, spittle and drool crawling from between his lips, eyes beginning to slowly bleed from crimson to its original darker color. The gas, it's the type they use in wars to destroy the heart and lungs of the enemy. It enters through the sinus cavity, and slowly seeps into the lungs. This is where it begins to decay the physiology of the respiratory system, and creates thousands of blood clots, as the gas molecules bond with others to form inorganic, solid molecule formations. This causes the heart to back up, and essentially, explode. Meanwhile, the brain is slowly ripped apart, microscopically for the same reasons. They call it nothing. There is no nickname for it, and there is certainly no reason for one. It is merely known as 'the gas'. Earlier, they had attempted to use a different gaseous compound to extract information or the truth out of prisoners, with a truth serum-like approach. This was quickly discarded, as they found the ability to use Chakra to protect the brain far too easily effective in defending against such means. So, they resorted to terror; to threaten with a powerful gas. This began to sift the cowards from the heroes, and if all else failed, killed those who didn't give in. Now, it was used for executive purposes. It only took moments to put him in his ironic grave. "We knew you would break." The guards told her, escorting her from the prison, and into the bright day of the Konoha village. Raising a hand above her eyes, she mutters her doubtful belief in such a statement, and begins to weep into her hands. As much as she had tried, it was all for naught... Even love can fail, she realized. [Essay Three--Art...] ((In my opinion, the most odd requirement of the three...how bothersome. I HATE ART. My apologies; this one will surely be my worst...)) The two of them sat upon the white fence, staring out into the clean streets of Konoha, the flowers and trees blossoming into gorgeous spectacles of aesthetic quality. The two of them, pressing lips and tongue into the same ice-cream cone, the way young lovers do, they sit together, one hand upon the other's, enjoying the spectacle of the new day. For sure, the end could come, and they wouldn't mind it for one moment. They had everything they ever needed right there. For the instant, they were timeless, and unbreakable. The Uchiha, often times stereotyped to be incapable of love, indeed sat with his lover, pressing his lips against hers, although the streets did have passerbys that shot strange glances. The lips exchanged, at that time, cool temperatures, and when parted, released a small dissipating cloud, as one mouth warmed before the other. They had been given some time off from their training, due to some odd business of the higher-ups. Apparently, there were issues to discuss with much seriousness, and they most certainly did not affect the youth. And, they did not mind in the least. However, there's always that one moment that curses the others...the kind, that asks for something. "You know, I seriously hate these little 'I need you to do this' get-togethers you seem to keep throwing..." The young male mutters spitefully, chewing thoughtfully on a strawberry pocky that he had persuaded his friend out of. Shaking his head and shrugging his shoulders, he rushes a palm through his scarlet hair, and sighs heavily. "Do you really think that I want to do this?" He inquires, the tone seeping with venomous challenge, clearly warning his friend to choose his response carefully. The silence, that awkward pause that friends often times find themselves in, lasts for several moments, before she quietly states 'No.' Being the person that he is, the young Uchiha closes his eyes, and raises his face to the warm sun. "It's peculiarly warm today, isn't it? What an odd day to hold such a contest. Won't it interfere with some of the entries?" He asks cautiously, looking to dodge this bullet in whatever way possible. Finding her reply to be somewhat counterproductive to his motive, he exhales sarcastically. Of course it wouldn't. This wasn't any ordinary art contest...it was the worst kind of all: Sculptures. Those rocks, the pitiful renditions of what the artist believes to be a 'creation', all nothing more than a simple chipping away at a block of...stuff, and making a slight resemblence to something else. The least it could have been is paintings; those are at least colored. Pressing hard against the fence below him, he explodes from his sitting position, and lands onto the pavement below, rising to full height shortly after doing so. Stretching out his arms, he cracks his neck, and looks up towards the young woman with a look drooling with sorrow. "You...sure you need me to do this? I know that your mother's sick, but come on...this is seriously harsh." He spits, scratching the back of his head roughly, cursing himself for making such a remark. Sometimes, he could be so tactless. Her mother, the poor girl, was dying slowly. A terminal illness, they called it. It was always a slip-up that would land the girl in tears that she struggled to hold back, knowing that her friend was indeed far from cunning; but that's only because she loved the dear fool. Choking back tears, she takes the hit, and turns her head, hoping to not show it. But girls, they always show their pain, and guys, as stupid and ill-mannered as they can be, tend to pick up on these acts. They can see through them, no matter how dense they may seem. Grimacing, he jumps up onto the fence next to her, and takes her into his arms, kissing her forehead lightly. "Hey, hey now...sorry. Of course I'll take your place. You go visit your mom...don't worry about a thing." He insists, holding her head into his shoulder, stroking the back of her head gently. He could always try to soothe her body and mind, but he knew that her heart was another matter. It wasn't just him and his moronic reactions, but it was the serious damage that had already been permanently scarred into her heart. No matter what invisible thing he could notice with his eyes, he could never see into her heart. This is why the only thing he had left to give her was his loyal service. Ineed a bother, the contest was as interesting as babysitting. Every five minutes, a new spectacle was brought out for evaluation, always near identical to the previous. Such similarity, it made it quite a bore. When a soul rages for adventure and excitement, it is highly recommended to not judge an art contest. The brevity of the human life is boundary enough, but who would waste it staring at abstract scupltures? Slouching into his chair, the young male spreads his fingers throughout his hair, sighing in an exasperated manner as he mutters his grievances about the boredom, the sun, and just about everything thing else that he could think of. The third and second places had already been decided. The Third place, the sorry excuse for art, of a pidgeon. That's right, somebody spent who knows how many hours crafting the image of a common bird from a slab of rock. Critics claimed it to be quite classy, but for the poor Uchiha, he could only wonder about the sanity of the contestant. Second place, hardly a step above the third, was a sculpture of a dragon; the mythological kind that you find in books and magazines. The exaggerated tusks and teeth, bright colors, and fire-breathing snout. It's typicality was enough to choke on, and it somehow managed to rise above third place. "If I had my say in this contest, they would all be third place. Not a single one of these are worth mentioning in higher regards..." He sighs in a crisp tone, shuddering at the thought of himself housing such a thing. Who would honestly wish to keep such...things in their homes? Moments later, a familiar face steps forwards, smiling brightly at the man. Waving hello, her beaming face pokes from behind her scuplture, winking as she droops an arm around the neck of the piece of art. Near dropping his jaw in both admiration and confusion, the young man stands out of his seat, and points. "B-But...You were...er...how?" It was indeed his friend from earlier! She hadn't visited her mother at all? She laughs, explaining that she wanted to surprise him with her artistic rendition of him. Her ultimate idol, and her secret love. Of course, he was young, and failed to see the loving connection that stood so apparant to others, as they stared at first the work of art, and then him, comparing, contrasting, evaluating. Indeed made in the likeness of the Uchiha, down to the hair it was an exact replica. Detailed markings where the dimples in his cheeks form when he smiles (As rare as this may be to some) down to the posture. All of it, an expertise untouched by other contestants. Laughing softly, he smiles at the woman, truly exhibiting his underlying good nature, as he assumes the pose of the statue, winking at her. "Go figure...you are quite sly. Thanks, for this. I'm honored." ((Alright, so it's 1000ish words; deal with it. It's a crappy requirement, what can I say!? I can't work under these stringents! T___T The ending sucked, and so did the details. I don't mind. I think I did more than well enough to cover for it in the first two. >_< So there.)) FINISHED Edited June 4, 2006 by Ravage Nocturne Quote

Azure Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 (edited) Azure Hyuuga Warrior- Hyuuga Yatako (may change first name) Genser: Male Essay #1-The rambelings of an old Hyuuga forger (written by current character) Oh, how I detest mornings. In my days of youth, that was my complaint that I had spoken as a catch phrase, waking up to my alarm clock and welcoming the day. Of course the occasional weekend was the brake from it. Eventually, my body couldn't take it, so it decided to sleep when I didn't wish to. As getting up at unnatural hours of the morning wasn't enough chore for one self, going to work through all the frequent weather conditions just added to the internal pain, dragging me on. The same thing over, and over got tiring very fast. That of my youth, those D ranked missions I called work, as they provided no entertainment but it was community service for the rookies. Ah, I was born to my mother who I only knew for the first 7 years of my life. I had hardly a care in the world being of the age of 3, in my childhood, I had fancied the shinier things in life. A delightful day for me as a child in the Konoha market place. Normally, I would be at the Hyuuga market place, but that would lead to the chance of running into my mother. The time where my father had given me the money I was to hold so mother wouldn't get suspicious on the day of their anniversary. He was buying her a gift and I was to meander around away from him with the money. I was happily frolicking around when I had a glance of a shiny red super ball. I walked up to it to get a better look. It was big, round, red with a swirl of gold on it. Being a child, I needed it. I discussed the prices with the merchant there, and it ended up that he asked me how much money I had. I quickly stated the amount, oblivious that this altered the price. He promptly raised his price to $10 under my total amount with a fiendish smile. I wanted it no matter what, so I had bought it. I smiled as I walked around showing off my new toy. I reached my father and told him my tale! He was much less enthusiastic than I was. But, he could only laugh at himself. That was the day that I had developed my merchant problem. Well, the rest of the day was fine, it ended up that the ball was the anniversary present. My mother did not care that it wasn't expensive…to her knowledge. After my father had told the story, she just laughed and smiled. One summer ago when I was at the age of 7, we were at a small summer shack that my father had built in the forest of Konoha. My father was out fishing and my mother and I were preparing a fine summer dinner. I was to go out to pick berries for the desert. While I was picking them, ninja from the village hidden in the grass attacked. Now that I look back, I have no doubt that they were missing shinobi, but they wanted a base of sorts to hide from the ANBU. I had heard all the fight and ran to my father at the stream. When we returned, they were gone, and her body was dead. We returned to our house and held services the very next day. We have not returned to the shack since. The second worst day of my life would have to be the point of it of what we ninja call the "team survival training” or TST for short. In the end, it was introduced as a nightmare and it qualified as a living nightmare. My jounin was called Uchiha Ichimaru and some how got our most valuble possessions of sentiments. Mine was my mothers own urn! Oh, how I wanted to extract revenge, I had even tried but then I was smacked back into reality by being turned up side down and a kunai to my throat. My other two team mattes were Uchiha Ankoku and Kiichigo. I apologies to her but at my old age, I forgot what her last name is. Blasted old mind of mine! We were sent into this Seer's house by ways of being lured. We were split up and barely survived that. Personally, I fought against myself, as my clones accused me of my mother's death. I was almost murdered by myself, whether it would count as suicide or not, I can not come to a conclusion. After we came back together, more or less by force. We had found a spider that used kiichigo's attacks against here. Ah, then we had found our possessions after the spider was done away with. Being the one of pure evil that he was, Ichimaru decided to calculate our failure before hand, and then fail us any way after he had said that even Chuunin would have a difficult time with the test. Then it was all a blur and when we saw Ichimaru again, he was nice to us and it confused the daylights out of us! The time after that until I was about 70 years old is more or less an empty void in my memory right now of my current writings. My mind isn't that bad, I am just a tad forgetful. Yes during this time I had retired my ninja ways. My family had to pry me from the forge I had taken over from my father. Now, my son runs it and is accompanied by my grandson as an apprentice. Yes our family is the Hyuuga forgers, we find it entertaining and it puts food on our table. In the world of the ninja, someone has to do it! Now, they had put me in my own little retirement castle, the attic. My old bones hurt from the temperature changes. Heh, as I look at my writing I see that my memoir isn't very useful for all the blank years. I guess those years, so much happened I couldn't comprehend that much and only remember it sometimes. But it is the time for this old man to rest…I will embrace the black wings of death when they come to lead me to my next adventure if there is such things, just the ramblings of an old man. Signed, Hyuuga Takumi Essay #2- The Tradgedy of Love Captured; trapped inside of an unknown world of endless torture of body, mind and soul. I sat in a damp, dark cell deprived of all life except myself. I was placed in a lonely stone box, a red button put in front of me, mocking me, telling me to push it. It was placed there as a final ultimatum of life and death. I wanted to leave this nightmare but that would mean disserting my love. I had lost all sense of time and all trace of memory. I knew that one time ago, my love and I were taking a walk in the local park one sunny May afternoon, close to dusk. We laughed, and were in love, the first time in our lives. All of our lives up to the point where we fell in love, felt empty. Then the blur of cruelty stole us from society, and hid us in this prison. 10 minutes, that's how long one of our lives was, unless we decided to both die. That button was our freedom, but only one of us. We were to die of poison gas filling our lungs are obliterating our internal organs. If one of use pressed that button, one would escape seeing the other one die. They had placed upon us the worst mental problem to be faced. Greed against love, Curiosity against self discipline, sin against the soul. It was unbearable; I couldn't begin to imagine what my love was thinking. Ah, my love, hair of a flowing brunette, eyes of crystal blue with a fusion of emerald green added. Always optimistic and laidback yet faithful, and a lively personality. Now that we were quarantined from each other, I feared that she would stop being optimistic. Trapped in these walls of isolation, I could only see the button and a small door where a guard stood near. My soul was crumbling as was my life. Then, as if an angel descended from heaven, the guard's heart had changed from black to a softer grey. His voice interrupted the everlasting silence that tortured my brain and made me fear, as I was loosing my sanity on reality. "You…kid, I just want to let you know…your girlfriend over there, well, she keeps on saying your name and is in constant prayer. She has a strong spirit; usually people would break under the pressure, as I expected you would. But, I know you will but having some humanity in me, I want to ease your spirit.” "You, I don't know who you are but, I thank you from all of my heart, not just the bottom of it. But, sir, why are we in here. Wheat have we ever done?” I question him, but no avail. He remained silent and didn't breathe a word to me. My soul was relived. I yearned to be with her and I had not the slightest clue what would happen. But I thought, whatever happened, I would not grieve. I had no intension to press the button because of my love, but I have never been put in this situation before. A new guard appeared through the tiny opening that I could see through. He whispered something to my guard that had helped me and I had heard pouting coming from there. Softly I heard him spoke, "Tell her…I'm sorry, I just…” His voice trailed off and a new voice stole the silence. "She will be informed, that it was in the line of duty and a noble cause.” I had realized what was going on, he was being put to death! Death for telling me the truth, now the guilt of that was put on my shoulders. My conscience had told me it was his decision, but I felt that it was my fault. Where ever we were, was the once of the worst places that humans could create. I felt sick to know that my fellow "brothers” were doing this to their family. I refer to us all as a family so they are hurting their family and have no regrets from it, only glee. The pain I was enduring was severe only a few minutes left until judgment arrived. Each second was another needle stuck into my nerves. I had felt the urge to get up and press the button to release myself and engulf the girl that I love in a gas that will kill her body and my soul. That is why I decided not to on many occasions, my humanly greed tried to overcome me, but I denied it to do so. I do not know if it was an act of mercy or of final torture, but then the opening that I saw ceased to be. It was air locked shut, as my time was up. I had no idea if my love had pressed the button. The wall that was next to me slid below me to reveal a looking glass with my love on the other side. She looked at me and me at her. We smiled as we knew our time was over. I mouthed an "I love you" to her as she closed her eyes. Gas filled the room intoxicating us to our demise, but our love had shown through, as we both died that day. Darkness covered me as my body ceased to be. Some where, beyond the sight of man, our souls slept and we slept peacefully until we were given the chance to see each other again through unworldly ways. Essay#3- Local Judge A judge I was, for an artistic contest. I was honored to be here, even as a local judge for a local holiday, festivities were happening and the air had a giddy feeling to it. I smiled as a looked from artworks to creative designs. The sun was drawing west to the point that it splattered a watercolor of pink to the sky and turned the clouds golden. The time had come: judging. There were four other judges besides myself. Over some controversy, three paintings were selected to be the top three best in the town. As according the judging rules the third place receives its prize first. This was an oil pastel of a tiger in its habitat of the jungle. The artist had blended the colors of black and a lively green to create an astonishing color of grass green. The tiger was positioned to pounce on its prey. It was crouching next to a leaning tree, coving it from normal sight but only visible form a certain angle. The tiger it self had its piercing golden eyes narrowed cutting through every thing else just to concentrate on the one prey it was hunting. The tiger was a blend of orange and a hint of yellow to create its coat. The stripes were jet back but on certain points, a bit of silver was added to spice the picture up a bit. Second place was a working model of a rotating carocel. It was hand made with velvet cloth to cover the top of it. The poles that the animals were attached to were golden and the poles themselves were in a double helix form. The animals were created accurate with an assortment of ponies, elephants, horses, cats and even a giraffe. There were also little benches place on the carocel. The working model even played a catchy tune, but that wasn't enough to claim the top prize. The First place winner was announced last. It was a glorious paining of a glorious dragon. The body of it was curling itself into a coil and was surrounded by fluffy clouds. The color of the body was a gleaming sea green. At the temples of its head were magnificent tusks that were blood red, just poking into the clouds. Along the back of the dragon ran pale yellow spikes going down its spine to its tail. The tail was painted into a triangular shape, outlined in a bold purple. The dragons face was starring right at you with platinum-white eyes like two moons that looked as they stared into your soul judging if you were worthy of seeing a magnificent creature of lore. Guest MrSako Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Well, if I ever go inactive if my medical school stuff gets really busy, a spot will open up for someone else, and I will create some rules for the Clan during my absence, and also appoint a Clan 'vice' Head to take over some of the duties. With the next update, I will also give up my sennin character, and Naru will be gone. I will start at Square One with everyone. Quote

Guest Zionward Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 (edited) Clan: Uchiha Name: Uchiha Hinode Gender: Male Essay #1 - Dried Flower Memoir Dear Journal, It has come to my attention, that the brevity of human life is by no means under-exaggerated. Should I close my eyes, I fear I'd see my entire youth again, but be unable to bear it. Where did it go, I wonder? Those years, those minutes, and those hours; all lost. I wonder if at the center of this thing, existence, there is a whirlpool that drags time down, absorbing all of the unused seconds and bringing the dawn of death ever closer to our horizon. Truly, it must be there. For few people would like to see that terrible majesty, death, spread its black wings and fall upon them. In this foolish world, we spend lives without a second thought; that much, I do know. The wars are endless, the feuds are ceaseless, and the shattered lives are countless. Look at us, I pray thee! Did ever another world send its children to fight each other for the hollow words of honor? Does honor fill an empty belly or satisfy a parched throat? I think not, I think not. Even I remember my own training of the art that is bloodletting. Honor and pride were our meals and supremacy was our dream. To be the best, that was what made the most sense. To be the best at killing, spying, maiming, subduing, and capturing. Did we crave a purpose? Or did our twisted souls desire to see blood be spilled? I do not know. And yet, I do remember the single flower that grew in the bloodied garden of my world. She was everything beyond me. She was both mature and understanding. And how I used to tease her for being so competent! I was a fool. She was not odd, as I had said, but merely a person who had developed a little bit faster than the rest of us. During class, the rest of us would clamor for new strategies and tactics for battle, while she humbly requested the knowledge of healing. It was surreal, in a sense. Whenever we were hurt or became wounded, we sought out her help. Despite this kindness, we still mocked her for the way she displayed pacifism proudly. What I'd give, even now, upon my deathbed, to hold her in my eyes one last time! As it came to be, I was eventually placed in a group with her. Admittedly, at the time it was much to my dismay. However, I tolerated this and did my best to ignore her. My best was not good enough, though. I found myself attracted to her, but at the time I wrote it off as merely curiosity. Somewhere deep in my mind, rooted at the center of myself, I knew there was more to it. More and more, she became the center of my vision. Whenever I could, I'd watch her. Supposing to myself, no doubt, that I was ogling how bizarre she was. It never penetrated my conscious thought that I could possibly be smitten with her, but there it was anyway. Amidst a roiling storm of politics and violence, I managed to find a tranquil grotto where I could always relax. And that place was her presence. Whenever I was around her, I seemed to lose all notions of being hyperactive or rude, and felt as if some measure of serenity fell upon me. In contrast, there was very little that could calm my heart whenever she touched me. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump… I could hear my own heartbeat in my ears, and I could feel myself flushing immediately. The younger part of my conscious was appalled at this and would begin would squirm constantly until the feeling went away. However, the older, more mature part of my conscious secretly treasured those fleeting moments. Perhaps she saw through me and knew that despite my teasing, I did care for her. But I'm being absurd, of course she did. Etched deep into the halls of my mind, I can still see that one glorious day that I regarded above all others. A warm, clement summer day spent napping and resting. I can see that one moment, where I found my head in her lap and was staring up into those comforting hazel eyes. Still smiling a little, she closed my eyes with her fingers and whispered for me to sleep a little more. Upon waking, I felt as though I had been given all the time in the world to rest and was feeling utterly invigorated. Yet, even with that blasting excess of energy, I laid where I was; just watching her quietly. Wordlessly, my hand reached over to hers, and squeezed it gently. She gave my hand a squeeze in response, and I remember holding hands for the longest time… Even during our training exercises, I found that I was beginning to find more and more points of grace in her being. I could find no flaws in that woman, except for the fact that she loved me back. Though we didn't speak soft words in public, it must have been painfully obvious that we were very close. Truly, it was surreal. The foolish child that had been teasing and mocking her for years was suddenly so swept up in her, that he tried to become better for her sake. Did I grow up, during those days? Most definitely, my memories do not lie. Our cooperation during battle was beginning to become a thing of legend, as well. With her healing my wounds and curing my ailments, I was able to fight with such raw fury that I knew absolutely no fear. Except, I think, the fear that it would not be me who would be gravely injured or killed, but her. And so, the fury seemed to feed upon itself and evolve into a passion realized in violence. Where my clumsy tongue could not express how I felt, I instead let my every action during battle speak volumes of how stupendously convinced that I would not let a single finger of calamity fall upon her. I know it was quite thoughtless of me to fight without reserve, but even if I were given a chance to alter my past, I'd not change a thing. More so than the desire for honor and pride, was my conviction to her. I had sworn allegiance, not to my village, but instead to the person I cared about. Where had that foolish boy gone? When had he been replaced with a love-struck man? I do not know, I do not know. No matter the measure of love, devotion, or gratitude one feels, it may one day prove too little to save your significant other, as I learned. It had been a raid on our village; one of the first in recent years, no less. It came during the night and was a horror to behold. Screams dipped in agony, bodies drenched in blood, and families oozing disconsolation. Flames, there were too many flames. Could be considered a firestorm, or perhaps an inferno… Fighting through sheets of the stuff, I tried to make my way to her home, only to see it consumed utterly flames. Fear could not hold me, then! Despite the burns I would suffer, I charged inside and started wildly searching for any signs of her. Plunging through the chaos, I found her coughing and choking on the floor. Without a moment of hesitation, I scooped her into my arms and darted outside. When my eyes fell to her, and drank in her condition, an inferno burning brighter than the sun ignited, and held within my soul. I had never realized that I could lose all rationale so simply. When I saw the burns scattered across her body, and the ruined face…I lost myself in something. Hatred, rage, hell, I could not tell you. But whichever it was, it fed me some sinister strength. And when I caught the shinobi responsible, finishing up with spreading the flames over her home, well…there was nothing ‘twixt heaven nor hell that could stop me. Each and every blow fell upon him like the wrath of god. Hammering away at his flesh and bone, I could only see his mouth widening to shriek in absolute agony as I beat him to death. There was no strategy, no tactics in that fight. It was simply a conflict between predator and his prey. My attacks rose and fell like the tide affected by the pull of the moon; rhythmic and without pause. I pray that whatever gods in the sky there are, that they have pity on the soul of that shinobi, for I was not about to give him any of mine. And when the deed was done, I watched with ferocious eyes as blood trickled between the patches of scorched flesh on my arms, though I knew no any pain during that time. With all the weight of the world upon my incapable shoulders, I returned to her. Using my care and love of her, I poured chakra into her so that she might heal those grievous wounds. But, love can go wrong, or at least, we can say that. More accurately, the love went right. I could feel the healing pulse of her chakra and mine being returned to me, healing the would-be fatal burns as though they were minor scrapes. It was wrong, it was all wrong. Totally, inescapably wrong. That, while laying there on the dirt, dying… That she'd heal me, instead of herself. I can't go back to save her now. For those accursed black wings spread and took flight and as soon my wounds had been mended, dark death fell upon her. The death of the perpetrator meant nothing to me. My youth was spent on the love of my life. And as I lay upon my deathbed, reminiscing of those lost years…I can still remember my greatest injustice. I had never been able to say it; never had been able to say ‘I love you' to her. So I make my amends now, and read this well, my dear. Meet me in the sunshine; I'll be there waiting for you. -Final entry in the journal, Youkou no Warera (Sunshine of Us) Essay #2 - (To be named) Tick, tock, the clock won't stop. With a great sigh, he slightly shook his shackles; testing their weight. It was futile of course, but the shinobi within him never gave up. And for that, he hated himself. Even so, he caught his wandering eyes searching for any possible escape routes from within the chamber. There were none, why, none at all. But as sat, shackled to that chair and staring at the seemingly innocuous button, he was already forgiving the person in the next room. For there, sitting in that adjacent room, his little brother was shackled to a similar chair, perhaps utterly consumed with fear. So, he longed to reach out and comfort that young sibling, but there were no weaknesses in the walls. There were none, why, none at all. As surely as the sun rises, only to fall away during night, his little brother would press the button. More likely than not, after being driven mad by fear and panic, the button would be pressed. And from the vent in the middle of the floor, would come up some sort of deadly, noxious gas that would squeeze his life away. So, in the silence, he was already forgiving his little brother for the sin he would commit. Children are often like that, unable to make calculated, rational decisions in the face of pressure. He had enjoyed being able to help raise his brother. There was no end to the possibilities that lay open and waiting for that boy; even if he didn't yet realize it. Big brother, he had played that role for his little brother. It was a role that had allowed him to educate the young child in subjects his parents could not; without their scruples turning against them. He taught him how to fight, to kill, to hide, to steal, and, of course, to escape. Perhaps that was the slightly hesitating emotion caught in his throat, he was simply proud of his brother for surviving his crash course test in staying among the living. Unconsciously, his hands were trying to pick at the lock of the shackles with a senbon needle that he swallowed before being captured; another of his uncanny abilities. While doing so, he thought about what his younger brother could possibly be thinking of, and, about. Were the maddening fangs of fear beginning to eat away at his rationale, and mind? How long could that boy hold out, before inadvertently killing his older brother? The clock did not stop, but it displayed that they had been confined in these separate rooms for at least twenty or so minutes. Like most young brothers, his suffered from the predisposition of being unable to conquer his fears without immediate support. That and guilt. Not yet jaded by the injustice of life, the boy still had years before he'd become hardened and calculating. And that was the only way people survived these days, through a tantalizing mixture of betrayals, alliances, and sabotage. In order to survive, you had to be the best at those things. As long as you found no better, then you could continue living in relative security, knowing that you were the master of all those awful things. It was a shame, to comprehend the fact that his little brother would one day be as cold, merciless, and programmed as he was. But if you can't be permanent, then isn't living to see the furthest away year the next most prized goal? Simple logic: be the best, or be manipulated by the rest. There was no way that he'd let his brother be manipulated, no way he'd let his brother be beaten to the bottom of the pack for such transitory things, such as scruples. The less you had, the better your chances of surviving at any cost; besides, gods punish the prideful as much as they punish the sinful. Didn't they? Edited June 4, 2006 by Zionward Quote
Cloudnine Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 (edited) +Hyuuga, Kokeshi <---Has bad habit of adding 'hime'. +Koko-chan <---I gave him a pet name. +This is a guy. <---My first male 'protocol'. +Medical <---I played rock-paper-scissors. Essay One: Strawberry Fields My name is Miyuki. I woke up to the scent of sterile chemicals and the sight of stark sunlight filtered by inexpensive white blinds, as well as the faint blips of a hulking machine at my bedside, attached to me by a cruel incision through my flesh. The windows are open and prompt the drapes to billow. I can hear the noises outside. They are the not the same exact city sounds I recall the last time I woke up- but I recognize it. It is morning. On a weekday. The schoolchildren are gathering to rush to school, a mass of giggles and chatter congregating outside the partly open window. Small carts clatter upon the cobblestone path with their wooden wheels, advancing towards their posts as street vendors. Aromas begin wafting through my open window, bringing me soft scents of fresh fruits, vegetables, baked bread, and roasting meats. I can decipher everything my ears pick up, even the steady hum of the air conditioning. A part of me yearns to join this type of habitual practice I hear, but I really do know better. There is a reason to why I am here. Everyone has his or her reason to where he or she is. This place is my prison, my solitude, and my punishment. It is also my dwelling, my companion, and my sanctuary. It is my porthole from which I gaze into the reality and my barrier from the hands of the people. I own nothing except what I wear and the air I breathe. Everything is gone, unneeded in this protective confine. I recognize no human face other than my own. I do not remember another life beyond these four fair walls, nor do I seek for reminiscences residing beyond the door. Like those people outside, this is where I live. I will continue my existence in this room until I become a gray ghost. I know for a fact that my entire life hadn't been spent under this ceiling and within these walls. I know I came from a mother and a father, who, in turn, come from a set of grandparents. Although I have no grasp on their whereabouts, or any means of contact, I know they exist, but their statuses remain unknown. I do have things to tell them, many things. How I want to know them better, although my life is fixed here; how I'm sorry they were so easily erased from my memory. The doorknob creaked slightly and twisted. Apprehension crossed Miyuki's face as the door creaked ajar on its oxidized hinges. She drew a breath and left the pen to fall out of her slacking grasp and clatter onto the floor. Remaining hushed as an unfamiliar face peered at her through the opening, she stared intently back at the face. The angle of the door widened and a young man hesitantly strode through the room towards the woman on the bed. Miyuki's eyes continued following the man- an older teen, possibly almost entering his twenties. His eyes were the color of earthly verdigris, opened wide in what seemed like revelation. "M-mother,” his voice cracked as he choked out a sob. Slowly, he knelt to the ground beside the bed and reached down to pick up the fallen pen. He offered to return the pen into his mother's possession, remaining on his knees. "M-mother…” Miyuki continued to stare. This man- who just emerged from the outer world into her own inner realm- claimed to be her son? Her trembling hand extended towards the pen. Instead, she rested her palm on her son's. As she expected, he continued. "You've been asleep for almost twenty years.” His rough hand closed upon his mother's delicate fingers. He gazed at her bewilderment. "You don't remember me?” He asked; his voice was cluttered with dismay. His long golden curls partially covered his vague eyes, but even the blonde, boyish locks failed to hide the message of concern on his brow. "Child,” Miyuki's voice wavered as she clambered closer to the young man kneeling at her bedside. Her tremulous voice hardly sounded like her at all. Hands grasping both sides of his face, Miyuki leaned in to examine this boy's features. The mask he dons looks so familiar, his eyes are of oxidized copper, she thought, pushing back the strands of the flaxen mane veiled across his eyes. "Never once have I seen your face. I have known no face other than my own.” "You have no bond to me," He paused, mouth gaping for words. "No sixth sense," His voice faltered again, his jaws springing shut with a click as his prey escaped. A slight moment of looming silence broke out among the room so that the light whine of stillness weaved an awning between the walls. "Nothing to remind you of the ties to your only son?" His malachite eyes seared into his mother's face, prying. "Child," Miyuki repeated, her voice as insecure as before. "I recognize no face but my own-" Her bony fingers stroked the fine mass of hair clenched between her fingers. "But your eyes are as flecked and shattered as mine." Her similar gaze rose to meet his searching eyes. "A black void placed in the center of turmoil...My boy, I have no story to tell you- nothing to pass on." Her feeble body teetered as she leaned forward to plant a kiss on his forehead. Her skeletal frame racking with a shuddering lament, she conitnued. "But I will love my son very much. I want him to know that although I have forgotten the roots of my being, I can never lose my human fiber- emotions, a mother's care for a child. I could never forget my reason of bondage to this bed." From under the covers, two stumps lethargically writhed. "My legs were severed to cover my baby from mortal harm, my mind relinquished to keep him under the wings of angels. I love my child very much." Her child never once lifted a hand to aid as a support to her fragile deformity; never once lifted a finger to brush salty tears from his mother's eyes. He nodded gravely. Despite his wolfish facade, his actions were ever so tender as he slid his mother's hands from his cheekbones. He pressed the pen back into her palms and stood, popping noises emitting from his unbent knees. Without a second glance at the woman he was departing, the man paced to the door. All that lingered was the decisive click of the securing door echoing hauntingly off the spotless walls. A shock- there entered a most unforeseen visitor. My boy- whom I will in no way know- left the room. It was only the briefest of times. I can call no name but my own. He left with only a few words; only his scent is left behind. An overdose of cheap cologne and a dash of foot deodorant. Although I am unable to set any tabs on him, I feel at ease. When my eyes first opened this morning, I thought not one person would keep me in mind. A son I never knew…he stopped beside my bed. I am grateful for this one memory of another human face- meeting another pair of eyes like mine. He will be back, and when I am gone, he will come back for this. I am devoid of anything to leave behind; my memories do not broaden out of these walls. But I feel a wellspring of words to write. I want to share with him something I haven't had before. My time is withering, and I could see broken misery glistening in his eyes. Thank you, my son. I have never been sated so. Though the visit was momentary, I see my connection to the outside empire. You have given me something to leave as a memoir of my empty passing. In my drifting, I have always worn a small chain about my neck. A small silver heart-shaped locket dangles from it- I can open it if I try. I opened it once, I only saw two beryl orbs. I thought- these must be what I am looking so blindly for. And through ruthless shrouds of cruel blizzards and freezing rain, I dreamed for someone with those jewels. At last- at the moment of my waking, I have stumbled upon you, child. This memory is worth more than I will ever be, I do feel the ties of mother and son. My child, I know not your name, but your heart. I leave you all my dreams and visions, and my undying love and devotion. My time here is almost ending- I accept that. I promise that we will meet again over the arc…when I'm searching through a wide sea of eyes… I will find that one pair I will forever recognize. ---First and final entry of Miyuki, the Lost Bride. Fine~ -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Essay Two: Dirty Little Secret "Yoru," his name slipped out of my lips like a silk skirt swirling off bare thighs. I curled up in the dank corner of my enclosure; far away from the switch jutting out from the stone wall like a claw, away from the solid door which would mark my escape, away from the tiny drain in the center of the room, and away from the silly little two-way speaker the cruel bastard used to communicate with his unfortunate captives. "Yoru," I hissed again, clutching my cell phone. Savage throbbing skulked in the back of my head, spinning my senses about and sending my thoughts topsy-turvy. A burning sensation filled my throat between and during every breath I took. My stomach groaned and ached more in contamination than hunger. "Who the hell had the grit to slip shit like that?" I muttered, clenching the phone harder as my body started to recede into that drugged state again. Stay awake, dammit! A sudden jolt in my palms temporarily carried away any symptoms of my ailment. The cell phone flashed it's bright lights and vibrated like no tommorow, all the while blaring a song Yoru and I had set solely for giggles. Gwen Stefani- Bubble Pop Electric. 'Tonight is theeeeeeeeeee night.' It felt like everything but a joke right now. Immediately, I flipped up the cell phone. Text message. The only means of communication when both of our throats were scorched by bane. [boy]: I love you too. I moaned in desperation. 1:31AM. We have eight minutes. --- ((Flashback)) "You have ten minutes. Your destinies lie entwined with each other- you live or you die. Whether it be, you will live alone or die together." Hina's lip curled. "What have we done to deserve such a thing?" although her eyes and lips were screaming, her voice only came out in a hoarse trickle- nothing louder than the faintest of whispers. Galled, she tore into her fake Coach purse- a gift from her partner during a trip to the big city. Cell phone drawn out, the girl quickly sent a message to Yoru. [Girl]: Can't talk. I love you. --- I bit my lip, quickly exiting my inbox, replying to the message. [Girl]: I'm scared. I hit send. A barrage of messages flew back and forth. [boy]: Press it. [Girl]: No you. [boy]: Plz. Make it out alive- tell family. [Girl]: No. Together. [boy]:Hina plz. [Girl]: No! I cant [boy]: Ur being selfish greedy! Each message felt like another blow to my crumbling foundation- soon I was bawling. I don't know what to do! Hastily, I flipped open the cell phone to check the time. 1:37AM. Shit. [Girl]: I dont want to let u go. [boy]: Me 2. I love you. I stood up. It felt like a dream- my vision blurred and the bricks seemed to whirl around me like a swarm. My knees trembled as I clumsily shuffled towards the switch. I'm dreaming- when I wake up, Yoru will be there. Nothing bad will ever happen. [Girl]: I love you too. I'm pulling the trigger. . . At this point, time froze. Then it paced into a blur. Simultaneously, as the switch was pressed down, the concrete door to my confinement swun open. Blindly, I dropped all I carried and lunged at the opening, finding myself flung outside onto the cold pavement in the biting rain. I let myself lie there for a moment, dwelling on what I just did. Yoru! Yoru! Scrapes from the fall stung as fat, salty tears began to roll down my cheeks, only to be pounded away by the rain beating relentlessly on my drenched back. He told me to tell his family. What do I say? He calls two people 'dad', and one person 'mom'. He has a younger sister named Chiyu. What would they do? I haven't fully acquianted with any of them. I've talked with Chiyu once, when I was teacher-aiding in an elementary school. Coincidentally, Yoru's sister attended that class. They were having a discussion on their favorite things. "What's your favorite place?" She asked me as the entire class sat in a circle on the floor. "Me? I'd say. . . in the arms of the one I love." I replied, receiving a flurry of giggles. Chiyu laughed. "That's silly! My daddy always hugs too tight!" -insert angsty mushygooey stuff here- Slowly, I rose. One hand bearing support against the walls, I walked. Surely we both had secrets- but this will be our best dirty little secret. -insert some more angsty emo stuff of doom- I approached the car- a silver mustang GT. Yoru's car. I sank, leaning my back against the tire and waited for him. ((Okay. . .so. . .reallyreally rough draft? This will be heavily edited. Nurr. . don't expect anymore from me for a while- finals. Hardcore Skittlez Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 (edited) Hey, I know the unlikely-ness, but let's shoot for a Sharingan anywho. Clan: Uchiha Name: Uchiha Makiba Gender: Female(Woot, Woot?) Essay 1 A lone woman sat behind a sizeable oak desk. She seemed to be laughing, laughing as though she were having the most joyous time of her life. Though, this was quite the contrary. This maniacal woman was, indeed, dying. And as her laughter ceased, her pen began dancing along her journal's pages once more, spelling out the events of late. Isn't this ironic? Isn't this just so damned ironic? I spend my life preparing to save the ones I love from this accursed disease, this 'blessing', as that man called it. But, here I am, suffering from it. This blight carries on despite that it still goes unnamed. I would have never thought that this would be the way I die. I always wanted to end my life with a bang, taking down the single enemy that opposed my proceedings. But I guess it will not be so. He stabbed me with a sword, can you believe it? He stabbed me with a damned sword! Stabbed me, damn it! Do you even care? Of course not, all you want are my possessions. The same possessions I intended to guard you with. Some family you are! I would just like to let you know--You can't have any of it. And by that, I mean any of it. She paused a moment to release a peal of laughter, while eyeing the collection of fabled items she had gathered over the past years. What an irony, I tell you. It's a shame that I'm dying, isn't it? Our empire is crumbling before our eyes. Crumbling away! And what do you care of this?! All you want is to profit from all of this! Profit from my death and our downfall! I hope you'll hear my screams of agony as this disease conducts its war within my body. I want you to hear them in your dark dreams, where you cannot deny them! Hear them and regret, regret the fact that you let your most prized heir slip away, all because you wanted a stupid object. I will perish in spite of you; my family. Spite oozing from my corpse! My spirit shall forever be chained to this world, until I drag you down with me. All of you. I will seek out this "giver of blessings", and use that very blade to bring this empire down to the dirt. Drag you down and make sure you never get up! Ever! My time grows short, as I can feel the taint taking over in my flesh. It's begun replicating more quickly. Be careful, I'm the beast you have always feared--The beast we always feared. Now, because of your ignorance, this 'blessing' is turning me into that abomination. Of course, I did have my good times in this world. I enjoyed watching my little sister grow to be the wonderful genius that you claim she is today. Tell me, where would she be without my guidance, without my care? Nowhere, I tell you; nowhere. If anything, she is the lone person that I truly love with all the capacity of my heart. But, because of your arrogance, I must kill her as well. My sorrows, oh my sorrows. I have so many and yet none at the same time. Is it this hard to bring to bear with words? I suppose it is, after all, you are deprived true mental facilities. I regret being able to bring our legacy into something that people could love. I regret not being able to educate you against yourselves, against the call of power. But, Humans will always be humans, right? Now I go to drift in sleep now, to ease these pains. I go to dream, only to awaken with a howling bloodlust: a final call of my humanity to get free. Next time you lay eyes upon me; I will be the hideous nightmare, ripping into the throat of some innocent person. And blessing that victim should they manage to survive my ravaging. I now understand this taint. A shame you never will. Essay Two--A selfish decision A man sat in a dark corner of this killing chamber. He had been sitting for quite some time, waiting. The situation had been explained to him twice now, but he still didn't understand. There was nobody he loved, nobody to love him. You see, this man had been self absorbed for all of his life. His only goal was himself, his only support was himself, his only burden...Was himself. Indeed, he tried to love once, to give back to the beautiful world that gave birth to him. In return, he was hated. This lonely man made friends for a time, only to kill them off in an attempt to save himself. This man was all but a coward. Quite the contrary of course; this man could love himself, and only himself. The clocked ticked and it tocked, drawing the time of this man's death ever so closer. He didn't dare look into the window provided, to see his loved one, as he had no loved ones. All he would see is the reflection of his empty heart, his selfish heart. Another minute passed, and curiousity killed the cat. He stood, and peered through the window. Hah. A mirror, isn't that great? he would think to himself, staring into what seemed to be a reflection of himself. That is, until the relfection moved indepently. The man jumped backward on both sides, moving closer again to see his oddly seperated self. What perfect timing for the man's memory to work; he saw the button that could free him. Yes! He could free himself, but at the price of killing himself. What would happen, if his mirror died? After all, it was himself. Decisions, Decisions. The man continued to ponder, imagining vivid results of the gas that would be released. His time drew near to its end. Would he push the button, and kill himself to get free? Was he that selfish, as to commit suicide to live? What would happen if he did press the button? All of these questions soared through the man's concious. One minute remaining...He had very little time to decide. Thirty seconds remaining.... the intercom would call. Twenty....Ten...The man had no time left. With a final hesitation, the man made his decision. There was a click to be heard, as the man pressed the button. What kind of monster was he? Humans killing themselves to save themselves...Truelly irrational creatures, they were. One supposes that the will to survive can cause one's own death. It goes to show, Humans will never be thankful for what is given to them, Even life. Edited June 12, 2006 by Kaosu no Tama Quote
Guest MrSako Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 (edited) @Ichigo: Just finished reading your essay. While the content is satisfactory, you have a few grammatical mistakes that could use correcting, such as... we're vs. were (we're means we are) or you're vs. your (you're means you are) I think that you would be more suitable to roleplaying a male character than a female one. Finally, if I were to offer you a position, you would probably fit the 'Branch' family instead of the 'Head' family. In conclusion, I think that it is decent. If there are no other completed Hyuuga entries by next week, I will make you an offer for a male, Hyuuga, Branch family. You need not respond to this post nor should you edit your essay. If there are other submissions by then, then I will compare and contrast, and make my decision. Next Saturday or Sunday I -will- be offering 1 position in the Uchiha Clan (if any finish) and 2 positions in the Hyuuga Clan (if anyone else finishes). Edited June 6, 2006 by MrSako Quote
Seigen Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 (edited) Clan:Hyuuga Name:Hyuuga Aero, Gender:Male Rank(Warrior, perferably) Essay 1:Regretful Warrior An old man finshes his days work of harvesting. He is not worried about the profit because he would not live sto see how much he would make.He has been doing this 50 years straight and suffering. But tonight, his suffering will end. He walks into the house slowly. After, he puts on his night close and becomes a little weary. He eats what he knows is his last meal and looks at all of his rooms in rememberance. Then he heads towards his room. The old man walks over to his bed, hands shaking reaching for his pills and water. He sits on his bed and pulls out an old journal, one that seems like hes had it for years. He begins writting. Dear Journal, It has been many years since I have entered a battle field. Many years since I have shed blood or seen blood sheded. I have become useless to myself and to others. I let my love ones die without ever getting to really know me. My tears have dried out from all the nights I have cried. All i can say is that I will die with so many regrets, so many things I want to change. I remember when I just became gennin. It was one of the happiest days of my life. Team 19,yes that was the name of it. There was no one extrodinarly special on our team, not even me. Our jounin was strong, but not nearly as strong as the others, and my team mates, ah my teamates. One was lazy and the other was just, dumbstruck all of the time. Some how though, we always manage to complete our missions well. I dont know if it was because of teamwork, or because of my jounnin. During those days though, I was innocent, not knowing what was in store for me. I became chuunin at age fifthteen, three years after I first became a gennin. One of the top chunnin of my class I was. It was also during those times, that I lost one of my comrades on a mission. After becoming Chuunin, every once in a while team 19 would still go on a mission with my former Jounnin teacher. Together we went on four B- rank missions, and two A-ranks. One day, when we were returing from our second A rank mission, we were ambushed by four missing Ninja. We were overpowered easly by their force. Me, of Hyuuga blood, overpowered with ease. Our former teacher told us to make a run for it and he would stay behind and fight. We tried to have him reconsider, but he told us to run. I was too nieve to see he was trying to make sure the younger generation stay alive. So I went for the attack one more time and ended up with a hole in my right shoulder before we left, The team had barly made it back to the village before the missing ninja caught up. We had cheated death, but our teacher had not. After that, I had done my all to gain wisdom and power. I learn the pinical of Hyuuga techniques. From, from the divine strikes to even having complete 360 vision of my byakran. I was going to be the best. For eight years, I had been detrimined to become smarter and stronger.I became the strongest Chunnin in my village, even stronger than some Jounnin. All to live up to the genies name my clan was suppose to be, as they would say.I became Jounnin around that time and age.Twenty-three or twenty-three if I am correct.Even then, it was a sad time in my life. One of my former teammates had was KIA and the other whos injuries were so severe, she could not be a ninja anymore. I know that A ninja was not to have emotions, but I have grown to love them as much as they loved me. After them days of sorrow, I began to have a cold heart. I felt like I couldnt be saved from this never ending reign of darkness. In missions, I showed no mercy what so ever to my enemies. When I led a team, I picked out the ones who only followed orders and would not speak to me unless it was about the mission. I lost most of my other friends during that time in my life. But, I didnt care about that. I just wanted to be alone. All it was were missions, eating and sleeping. No partying, no laughing, no festivals, nothing. When I turned thrity I met the love of my life. Her name was Hyuuga Jezabella. She had just become a Jounnin and put on the same squad as me. During the mission, she kept trying to make small talk with me. Eventually, I began to respond to her questions and talking. I dont know how she did it but, she had gotten me to open up just enough for her to sqwesh right in. After the mission, we began dating and eventually had gotten married two years later. Heh, we even had kids of our own. Even though we still had missions, we were still happy. Well, at least untill the war broke out. Hidden Mist had some how became a super power from under the villages nose. The village had went into war status. We went to war with the hidden village of Clouds and Hidden village of sand as allies. I was sent into the battlefield and Jezabella had stayed to take care of the kids.Seven months I was gone. I had been through just about everything I had thought. From fighting thousands of ninja, to helping the bystanders get to safety. The casuties had become so bad that eventually, we were sent to do a head on attack to kill the Mizukage. I was in a group of 10. Three from Kumo village, four from suna village, and three from Kohona. Two men from Kohona had already lost thier lives breaking through the place, and there were only 4 of us left after we fought the Mizu-kage.He had used many forbidden techniques, so I had to cut off his charka supply completely. After he was diffenseless, the others handled him with ease and we headed out for the escape. We barely had made it out alive before the other mist ninja set off so many explosive tags. We had won the war, even with great calutises. The troops and I was expecting the greatess homecoming ever when we got home. That was not what we had gotten. The village was torn apart and beat down. I immediately ran inside and was shocked at what I had seen. People dead on the streets, some kids and men armless. The generation I had fought so hard to protect were mostly wiped out. I had ran home to check on my children and wife. The doors was locked so I used juken to get it open. What I had saw was discussting and had almost killed me of shock. Three bodies, all mutilated, with some body parts missing from the body. It was my wife...and 2 boys. I ran to the Hokage of the village and demanded what had happened here. He just replied in a soft voice."Aero, while you were away we were ambushed by the enemy, we manage to fight them off even though we had little men compared to them. So many people died, im sorry for your loss".I felll on my knees and began hitting the floor crying. What I cherished most was gone. Its been 50 years since that dreadful day. I had not remarried or even had a relationship since then. I had quit the ninja way after that incident and became a farmer in the country. Heh, who would have guessed a great ninja like me would now be planting peanuts on a farm for a living. Now, I am writing in the book my wife had given me for the last time. Fairwell, may the new generation live in a better world than I did. My Final Thoughts in this Beloved Journal of mine Hyuuga Aero Essay 2:The Day Is Done, And So Am I. I had awakened from a punch to the gut. Im in shackles and theirs no way I could get out. Even a ninja of my caliber has weakness, and they've found mine. They had told me im being held hostage and my wife his on the other side of that wall and that soon, gases would kill either both of us, or one of us if a condition was met. Its either me, her or both.At the end of the day, I knew one of us would be dead if not both. I began to remembered what exactly happened to lead up to my capture. I was coming home from a mission and my wife was at the village doors to greet me. I had smiled and waved at her.She said she had a wonderful dinner waiting for me and it made me even gladder to be home. The two ninjas guarding the gates were telling me that I had a good women. As I had gotten closer to the door, kunai and shirkens flooded the place. The two ninja once guarding the doors where now dead beside it. My wife had hit the ground a few minutes after but didnt have any blood on her. I ran toward her with intensidy but then slowed down for some odd reason. My body had began to go numb and soon I was on my knees. I had been hit by a dart and hadnt noticed it. My body hit the ground hard. The 3 shinobi had jumped beside me and began talking, but I couldnt hear everything because I was passing out. So is this the one that killed ******* Yea, how should we make him suffer? Of course, we will avenge ******* death. Take him to the ******. At that point I had passed out. Next thing you know. Im here in a slimy place in a very bad position. I had struggled against the shackles and everytime I tried, they would toss water on me, and then electricute me without mercy. They laughed at the look on my face. I wanted to kill them so badly,no mercy, just death. Then, I had heard the screams of my wife on the other side of the door, and my anger completely took over for a time. LET GO OF HER!! ILL KILL YOU!! I SWEAR I WILL!! They snickered and began punching at me so many times I couldnt count anymore. Blood was dripping from my face and I was barely able to see. The blood from my face had gotten on to my hair and made the matters worse. It was very hard to do,but I had summoned up enough energy to talk again. Honey!!!ARE YOU OK?!! The response I had gotten back were screams. Screams of my beloved wife being toturered. She didnt deserve this, it should be me and only me. What did she do wrong.I yelled in rage as I tried to get the shackles off of my wrist. I moved around as much as I could and in return my wrist and knucles were cut.Blood had been dripping fast from my wrist and I felt as though I was about to pass out from it. I will either die of blood loss or because of the gases now. But I have to save her first! I began moving around more and more hoping that the chains that binded me to my death would let loose. They did not and the three men instead of two came back with a whip. The first man ripped off my shirt had let my chains loose enough so that he can set me on the ground.I took that oppertunity to strike. I didnt have enough energy to use byakran, so I head butted the first guy,was taken from behind by the other two. After then had hit me from behind, they immediately tightin up my chains and began beating me with the three-tailed- whip they had brought in.My back had little flesh left on it and I felt as though I was half dead. Dont die on my yet Aero, not until you save her!! He had kept telling himself that. They gave me one more sucker punch before they left, and I was about to fall unconicous. Then I heard my wife crying. The pain I felt in my heart when she cried was unbearable. It was like a sharp knife slicing at me.I couldnt take it anymore. She was suffering and I wanted it to end. It was 3 minutes left and she was being as faithful as she could to bear by me, and I the same, but she shouldnt be the one to die. I have commited the horrible sins of killing. It was the ninja way, but killing is killing. It was about time I died anyways. I would gladly give my life up for hers to be saved. So, I came to the conclusion. Honey? I need you to press the red button on the wall. If I do you will..I know, its ok. I wont die in veinI just cant do it Aero, I just cant leave you here to die alone. It would be pointless for both of us to die in this rechid place. That is why I chosen to be the one. So that you can live out your life and become old.So press the button...ok?I love you Aero,(cries) I love you.So do I, and that is why you must do this, because you love me and want me to be happy. Well, I cant be any happier of you do not push the button. It was less than two minutes now. HONEY,PUSH THE BUTTON NOW!!!! The gases began to come out of the vents and I smile. Thank you My eyes close and I see all of the great faces of my wife. I thought to myself that it was a good way to die.My body began to shake as the gasses continued to pour through the vents. I felt pains, but it didnt matter to me anymore. She was gonna be okay now. The day is done, and so am I . Essay 3 -Art in the sun. It was Marlboro day. A day when everyone comes out for the games, competions , and food. I had been appointed to be a judge in the art contest. I was reluctant at first but a little money can change a persons mind.So now im stuck in this booth with a bunch of little kids art projects, and I was already bored out of my mind but , had decided to stick with what I said I was going to do.There were two age groups of the contest in total. There was age classes six through ten, and eleven through seventeen. The first picture I seen of the contest was hideous. It also gave me the assumption that I was in for the worse. The picture was suppose to be a picture of a bear under the tree, except that the bear looked like a giant blob and you couldnt tell what the tree was if there wasnt a short skinny stick under the green circles. I had just continued shaking my had in discuse as I moved on , but the art work had gotten better thoughout time. Some where pictures of ninja killing samari , and others of just abstract art. After I had looked at them all I had chosen the art that would win first, second , and third place. The third place art was flashy. It was a picture of the village, Kohona except with a slight variation. It was tye-die colors. Where areas were suppose to be red, it was purple, blue, and so on and so on. I found it quite good though so that was my decision. The second place winner was made by a uchiha it was nothing special but I think his father used sharingan on me. The picture wasa bit more clearer than the last. It was a warrior fighting down a bear. The bear was made of light and dark browns, and the warrior was a big black male with a huge spear.First place winner was the one who caught my eye, naturally. It was a picuture of a Hyuuga in a kage outfit. It put a smile on my face when I seen that picture and I dubbed it First place. After I selected the contest winners in the first age group, I went over to the second. There pictures were much better than the first groups but I shouldnt compare because of the big age difference. So i began looking at the art work for the second group of art. One person had done excellent art work. It was that of cleopatria in a brownish border. If only I havent seen it before, I wouldnt of had to disqualify the 16 year old female. I was getting tired and sick of looking at the art work of others. So I moved on to the next so I could get it over with as fast as I could. This was the prize that had gotten first place in my eyes. It was a picture of the war that took place so long ago in Kohona. It showed the legendary Hatake Kakashi defeating over twenty oppenents with one jutsu. It seemed unrealistic, but it was true and I knew it. Second place winner was a picture of kids playing this foreign sport known as football. One kid was shown in the air catching what seems like a rubber ball and others were trying to catch him.It was a great picture. I walked through a few more picutures until I finally met the third place winner. The picture consisted of the same man creating different seals. The seals were all labeled on the bottom, boar, horse, bird, ram, dog, rat, tiger, dragon,Hare, snake, and two more. After I finsh judging I began to head home. Marlboro day was up, and I even got myself a some chump change for a easy job. When I got in the house, I kissed my wife with relief. How was your day Aero? Tiring. It was just a bunch of little brat art work. Well, get use to it. We are going to be having kids of our own soon. Yea, I know, isnt that jolly .Well im going to bed dear, good night. He walked up stairs and put on his night close. His wife had followed him and he smiled. Art in the sun was done, and at least he was bout to have a good night. Done!!
