Now, her hair falls to just below her jawline, just above her shoulders. -Eyes: A pair of peircing green eyes are found upon Yaiba, and they are quite good for both glaring and incredulous looks, both of which Yaiba finds herself using often. Though for the most part hidden on her petit face, those close to her cannot miss them. -Clothing: Yaiba wears tight fitting grey pants, with a shuriken holster attached halfway down her left thigh and a senbon pouch looped around her waist (on right side).She has a loose barely see-through black blouse with short sleeves and a tight V neck line over a black tank top. -Physical Description: Yaiba has toned muscles, a slim build, and a light tan. Her wavy blond hair reaches down to the small of her back, and is fitted into a loose pony tail. Yaiba has toned muscles an a light tan. She is short for her age, but her main power lies in quick attacks, as opposed to brute force. Since her move to Kiri, so many changes have occured that she wouldn't expect her parents to pick her out on first glance. She has done some filling out over the past year, and the slim body she had worn for the entirety of her life has gained two new, large additions. She was only slightly freaked out when the clothing provided for her by the Resistance was fitted to her growing body. The long, blonde hair which she took so much pride in has been cut and dyed to a dark red which reaches halfway down her neck ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~History~ [ Locked ] Yaiba was considered the 'popular' girl in her age group. She has led a normal life, and has lived in Konoha her entire life, as have her parents. Born an only child, Yaiba was never able to experience the joys of having siblings. Her parents were non-ninja, though some of her good friends from the Konoha ninja academy were the children of one or more veteran ninja. Her best friend, Aishi, went to the academy with her, and they were inseperable. Yaiba loved attending the academy, and found that she liked target practice most of all the academy. She loved throwing weapons and stood out in her class as a resistant leader among the girls, who hated being shoved around. She tended to beat the crap out of anyone who tried. Three years before Yaiba left Konoha, Aishi suddenly dropped out of the academy. Yaiba was shocked and worried sick. She did every thing she could to find out what happened, and how she could help. Eventually she did. Aishi's older brother had been killed on his second C-rank mission by a couple of Iwa nins. Yaiba became exceptionally pissed. She went to the Hokage and persisted in asking him what had happened. At first he didn't want to tell her, but eventually he did. It turned out that the gennin team that had been protecting a traveller to Kusa. A situation arose and the traveller interfered in the mission of a couple of Iwa shinobi, who attacked him. The gennin team was forced to defend him against the attacking shinobi, who happened to be ANBU They lost. Badly. They had been considered "collateral damage". Though the Hokage was extremely upset by it himself, there was nothing he could do. At this point, Yaiba finally absorbed the fact that ninja had to kill people, and there were consequences whenever they did. Though this was taught to every prospective gennin, the reality of it had failed to sink in. Yaiba decided that she would bend that one rule, and try her hardest not to take a life unnesecarily. Therefore, she began to research new ways of fighting, ways that allowed her to be non-lethal. This of course, forced her to train harder. She realized that most techniques a ninja used were very deadly, and unless a ninja was a good bit stronger then her opponent, she could not have mercy. Yaiba decided that if she was fast enough, she could knock her opponant unconscious before they could defeat her. Aishi was fully supportive of this, and since rejoining the academy, was her full time sparring partner. They sometimes practiced all day. They bonded more and more, and became inseperable. The bonds of friends were truly the thing which Yaiba loved most during her childhood. Over the following year, Yaiba became more powerful, faster, and began to use senbon. She found accupuncture techniques and learned ways of incapacitating opponants. She was close to her goal. At the time Kumo attacked, Yaiba was incapacitated in a hospital due to physical and chakra exhaustion. She woke up three days later, under Kumo control. She was surprised, to say the least. Most of her friends parents had been killed by the Kumo nins, and the ones which hadn't had gone into hiding. Needless to say, her family took in a couple of orphans. Aishi had been killed in the invasion, and Yaiba was distraught and enraged for weeks. She pounded walls and cried herself to sleep every night. She resented the invading forces with a passion, and resisted them in every way she could. On the first day of a particularly hot summer, Yaiba was asked to do something by her mother. She was to go to Kiri, and meet with her cousin, Yamanaka Ainoko. First, however, she was to stop at a house a couple miles into Kiri. She was given specific directions, and set out immidiately. When she reached Kiri, she went through manysearches, evena lie detecting ninja checked her and asked her question. She didn't know anything about the resistance, or any rebel ninja's, so she was allowed passage. Upon reaching the house she had been directed to, she found it to be a resistance base. She was invited into the resistance, and accepted their invitation after a sparse amount of thought. She now heads through the city, hoping to find both training and hopefully her cousin. [ / Locked ] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Persona~ Yaiba's personality is quite variable. She rarely shows sorrow or fear to others, though occationally feels them. She is normally a happy person, and enjoys spreading happiness to others. However, she knows when to be serious and she can switch very quickly to her 'ninja-face'. She doesn't mind taking the lead of a group, however dislikes internal disputes. Therefore, she rarely attempts to take the lead, and instead helps when she is needed. Yaiba is quite charismatic, and usually has an oppinion, though she voices them only half the time that she has them. She knows how to be descrite, and she can adopt characters as well as any well-trained actor. This young kunoichi has a complex thought process, and likes planning ahead in lieu of spur of the moment decisions. When she is forced to make such decisions, she thinks them through quickly and carefully, choosing what she thinks is the best possible option. Cost: -1 Austral Shinjutsu (Southern Acupuncture Arts) Bloodline: No Description: Acupuncture is an art used not very often in the ninja word, as it takes both a lot of time, and there are much easier ways to achieve the same objective. For the basic parts. Of course, few ever make it to the more advanced and esoteric facets acupuncture offers. The strange thing about acupuncture, though, is that with chakra it may be used both offensively and defensively. Almost all medical jutsus which are usually signified by green hands may instead be created by infusing chakra into a Shinjutsu Senbon and aiming it at the correct point. Conversely, acupuncture opens up an entirely new path of offensive jutsus. Southern acupuncture originates from the islands located below Kiri, and in itself differs slightly from other acupunctures, as it uses far more varied parts of the body to execute strikes. There are a total of 343 acupuncture points located across the upper body according to Austral Acupuncture (Although the lower extremities mirror the upper extremities, adding on another 98 points, they are not used by ninjas, as the ability to strike an opponent in the foot is not very possible at times). It uses the throat line, the most basic area of acupuncture, however also includes the hands, thought to be a miniature map of the body when it comes to pressure points. The upper arms are the location of two major meridians, and can be struck also. The face, scalp, and ears make up the final area. The small group which spreads and cultivates the novice users of austral acupuncture are located in the island just below Kiri. Sometimes, an individual who acts as the outside observer to the group will travel to Kiri and other countries and spread the art. This is usually done by bequeathing a book to those who they see may have potential. In order to open the book and gain access to the knowledge inside, however, the reader must first sign a blood contract which prevents them from killing with what they learn from the book. Effect: User is able to use Austral Shinjutsu jutsu and skills. Shinjutsu techniques gain half modifiers from Speed and Ninjutsu. Defending stats are half Speed and half Resistance. Base chance to hit is 40%. Shinjutsu Techniques may not be blocked. -Note that Austral Shinjutsu techniques must use a Shinjutsu Senbon. No acupuncture point may have more than one senbon in it. Cost: -2 The Path of the Warrior Description: Many Ninja go down the path of becoming 'the strongest' of their field. They will stop at nothing to achieve this greatness and be esteemed among their peers. Effect: Gain 1 extra Jutsu Point every 5 levels. -Weapon Specialist: The skill 'Warrior' (weapon)' no longer has the lvl/2 restriction. May take 2 Ranks of 'Warrior (weapon)' for 1 skill point. Cost: -1 Restriction: Character may not have more than +8 points of Hindering Traits. Warrior (Senbon) Effect: An attack from that specific weapon will do +5 Damage. Cost -2 [4 Ranks] Yamanaka Meditation Bloodline: Yamanaka Clan Skill Description: Through intense mental training from childhood, a Yamanaka's mind is intensly organized, and it is not uncommon for one to relax through meditation when in stressful situations. The Yamanakas jutsu and clan secrets all delve into the rescesses of their own minds, so they must have an intricate knowledge of their own thought process. Effect: User may now purchase two ranks of Inner Calm for one skill point every 10 levels. Training for both ranks must be completed at the time of purchasing. Cost: -2 Yamanaka Technique ~ Mental Fortitude Bloodline: Yamanaka Clan Desciption: Yamanakas pride themselves on the degree to which they have mastered the discipline of their own minds. Firmly routed in their beliefs, is the fact that before leaving their own minds, they must have full knowledge of what lies inside themselves. Yamanakas will commonly meditate to learn everything that is within them before going without them. Once such meditation has been mastered, greater heights may be reached, such as the blocking of invading outside forces upon their own mind. Effect: User of this skill is immune to any attempts at invading or reading the their own mind. The information stored there cannot be accessed forcefully. This skill does not hinder Yamanaka jutsu used by ninja of a higher rank, nor does it affect the effects of genjutsu in battle. Once a clone is hit it is destroyed, and the bonuses with it. A bunshin is considered to have 0 evasion and rolls to dodge whenever it is targeted in the user's response phase. Maximum of 8 bunshin can be made Name: Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) Type: Genjutsu Rank: Academy Student Cost: 5 Genjutsu Description: Wrap chakra around your body to change your appearance. You can still use the features of the thing you can become, e.g use the claws of a clawed animal, but not to the extent of if you actually were that thing. Damage: None Effects: Change your appearance. Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Substitute Technique) Type: Ninjutsu Rank: Academy Student Cost: 10 Ninjutsu Description: A lifesaver, and a must-have technique. With this technique, the user is able to swap their body with a nearby object, usually a log, which will take the full force of any incoming blows for them, while they retreat to safe ground or search for an opening. You can only use this 3 times per battle. Damage: None Effects:Evade the next attack aimed at you. You are unable to attack the opponent the turn you use this. You can only use this 3 times per battle. This technique cannot be used to dodge Ninjutsu, Taijutsu or Genjutsu Techniques. Other Jutsus : Inner Tide ~ Sui Hari Type: Ninjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 5 per Needle Damage: 5 per Needle, max = number of needles you may normally throw. Damage may never exceed 60. Effects: Use one half of both Nin and Speed Mods to calculate bonus. Description: A simple modification on Sui Ibara, Sui Hari has more elongated needles, which are manually thrown, though still drawn from the air around the user. Yamanaka Yaiba discovered this jutsu through training, and now uses it on a normal basis. Points: 1 Shadow Shuriken Clone Skill (Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu) Type: Ninjutsu Rank: Jounin Cost: 8x chakra (x = amount of clones you want to make.) Max of 320 chakra can be spent on this. Effect:s: Multiplies the amount of the small weapons you threw by x. You throwing limit is uneffected by this, since it happens after you throw it. Description: A powerful technique. The user throws an object, in this case a Shuriken, and uses Ninjutsu to make it divide in the air, creating a few, or hundreds, of other real Shuriken. Points: 7 Name: Senbon Haretsu Kansei (Needle Explosion Trap) Type: Trap [Ninjutsu] Rank: Gennin+ Conditions: The opponent must have dodge the user's kunai/shuriken. Jutsu must be used in Response phase. The turn when this jutsu is being used, the main phase must be ignored. Cost: 20 per shuriken/kunai Damage: 20 per shuriken/kunai( maximum of 60 per gennin, 120 per chunnin and 320 per jounin) Effects: +20% accuracy( trap rule) Description: Before throwing a kunai/shuriken/senbon needle, the user added a small amount of chakra into the weapon. If the kunai failed to hit the opponent, the user detonates it in place. Full Chain Opening to any Intermediate Acupuncture techniques. After successfully inflicting Full Chain Opening three times to an opponant via this technique, that opponant is no longer effected by the damage or effects of this technique. This causes their brains to misinterpret signals from the body, and the opponent has trouble reacting to what is actually happening. This is not as dangerous to shinobi as it is to non-shinobi, as shinobi have learned to hold their breath for extended periods. It is, however, deadly if used long enough. Points: 3 Requirements: Must have Austral Shinjutsu Austral Shinjutsu Technique: Intermediate Acupuncture Point ~ Intestines Type: Shoujutsu (Shinjutsu) Rank: Jounin Cost: 100 Damage: 0 Effects: User may use this in place of one of their basic small weapon attacks, so long as the total chakra used during the main phase does not exceed the Jounin chakra cap. Metabolic Breakdown (1 turn) Description: A Shinjutsu Senbon is launched at one of the 49 acupuncture points on the body and chakra is expelled across the connected meridians effectively giving a fast track to the Intestines. Hitting this point causes problems throughout the body, and can throw off the functions of the body. Points: 3 Requirements: Must have Austral Shinjutsu Austral Shinjutsu Technique: Intermediate Acupuncture Point ~ Liver Type: Shoujutsu (Shinjutsu) Rank: Jounin Cost: 100 Damage: 150 Effects: User may use this in place of one of their basic small weapon attacks, so long as the total chakra used during the main phase does not exceed the Jounin chakra cap. Description: A Shinjutsu Senbon is launched at one of the 49 acupuncture points on the body and chakra is expelled across the connected meridians effectively giving a fast track to the Liver. A shooting pain unexpectedly hits the shinobi, causing surprise and confusion. As a result of this technique the liver releases an excess of toxins into the body. Points: 3 Requirements: Must have Austral Shinjutsu Kugustu no Jutsu<BR>Type: Ninjutsu<BR>Rank: Genin<BR>Cost: 5% Total chakra<BR>Damage: n/a<BR>Effects:<BR>- Allows the user to use a puppet. Puppets cannot be used without this technique.<BR>- Can only control a puppet with up to 250 Durability and/or 30 Part Slots.<BR>- May be activated in the setup phase, counts as 'drawing' your puppet.<BR>- Must be activated multiple times for multiple puppets.<BR>- Chakra is always spent in the cost of this technique, regardless if your puppet is a 'power puppet' or a 'control puppet'.<BR>Description: This jutsu uses strings of chakra from the user's fingers to control puppets like marionettes. Another useful quality of this skill is the fact that the puppet can take the form of another person, usually its user, allowing the user to trick their enemy into thinking they're fighting a living person. Any number of chakra strings can be used to control a puppet, but users with more skill using the technique can use fewer strings per puppet. Though the downside to this is that it takes a long time to learn and even longer to practice, so it is rare to find a ninja who can use puppets that does not concentrate on puppet fighting.<BR>Points: 8 Inner Tide ~ Heki Kuchiyose: Sui Hebi (False Summoning: Water Snake) Type: Ninjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 10 chakra per snake. Damage: N/A Effects: Ebb stance jutsu. Manipulates water around the user into the form of a snake, which then roams the field. The snake is at the users command, and can be a medium for jutsus. If it is hit by an attack which deals damage or used as a median for a jutsu, the snake dissipates. The number of snakes the user may have in the battle at once is equal to 2 plus one tenth of the user's level, rounded up. Description: Precursor to a multitude of jutsus, this was discovered, and is now employed by, Yamanaka Yaiba. Using Elemental Manipulation, the snake is formed, and a mental command channel is created. The snake is unable to do actions on its own, as it is simply an inanimate (well, sort of) form of chakra-infused water. And a subconscious command alone is what causes it to continually slither along the field. By using a concentrated effort, the user may manipulate the snake to their will. Points: 1 Inner Tide ~ Sui Hebi Bakuha (Water Snake Explosion) Type: Ninjutsu Rank: Chunnin Cost: 50 chakra + 20 per snake (max of 5) Damage: 25 per snake Effects: Stunned Description: The water snakes on the field congregate around a single enemy, and suddenly launch at him/her. Each snake explodes as soon as in the vicinity of the opponent. Opponent is stunned. Points: 3 Shintenshin No jutsu (Mind-Body Transfer Technique) Rank I Type: Clan Ninjutsu Rank: Genin Cost: 50 chakra + 10X per turn (X=User's level-opponent's level. Minimum of 10) Damage: See Effect Effect: For every turn after the first turn in which this jutsu is in effect, the user must roll a D100. On a roll of: * 40 or less; Nothing happens * 41-60; The turn is sacrificed * 61-100; The opponent breaks free While the Jutsu is effective, the opponent loses control of their character, and the user gains control of the opponent's character at the loss of control over their own. While in an opponent's body, they are able to see the opponent's remaining HP, Stamina, and Chakra. They may use any skills or jutsu the opponent has displayed previously in the battle. Any damage sustained to the user's original body is dealt to both bodies while the is active. Any damage sustained to the opponent's body while this is active is dealt to both the user and the opponent's body. If the Kagemane no jutsu is effective on the opponent when this is used, this jutsu is considered an automatic hit. If this jutsu misses, the user skips their next turn entirely. For every time this technique is used on the same opponent, they have a -5 to hit. Description: This is the signature jutsu of the Yamanaka clan; used primarily for spying. The user expels their spirit out of their own body, and towards the opponent's. Upon success, the user takes complete control of the opponent's body; however, if this jutsu misses, the spirit takes an amount of time to return to the user's body. Restrictions: When used against shinobi of a higher rank, reduce all minimum roll amounts by 10 per respective rank the opponent has over the user. May not be used more than twice per battle at the Genin Rank. You'll probably have to get permission to use it, or join the clan if there is one. If you can't, just change the name to something similar. But other than that, everything seems great. I especially liked the story!

I especially liked the story! Well thank you. The story was fun to write. Oh, and I actually did get permission fromthe clan head before I posted. One of the neat little things you learn from lurking, i guess.

But there're some things wrong. -You have 0 JP, because you took the Shintenshin no Jutsu. -Under 'Clan,' you need to put Yamanaka. Other than that, good job. The plot itself is not but just the word order and grammer is a little odd. Rei Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 (edited) If you character's fighting style is largely, if not entirely, Taijustu-based I suggest you chuck that bastardized Shintenshin no Jutsu* for a decent combat style. *Napper and I created several modifications to every canon and customized Yamanaka Jutsu. None of which were posted after my withdrawal from staff. If we're given a bit of time, control of the clan and my willingness to co-operate with the new systems Yamanaka should be up-to-date and better.
