She first looked up in the trees, wondering if it had scurried up one. They seemed to do that a lot, well, they had when she'd tried chasing them.

If it had run up into the tree, she didn't see it. Sighing, she climbed up the nearest trunk and looked around.

"Hey..." She squinted, but still couldn't get a clear view. "Is that it, over there?" She pointed at a vague furry blob a few trees away.

Ryuu was in a his furry custome a few meters away, he had left Iwa for 3 days and had no food and decided that if he dressed like this he could catch a squrriiel or two. "Mmm I can smell them already" Ryuu said while drooling.

he sees this man dressed in a costume and said nothing. If you are trying to get food i would be more than happy to give you some back at my house he yelled at the squriels direction

Kanjii, thinking that it was a squirrel, said to Hakkai, "I don't think it can understand you..." She swung over to the next tree and noticed that the squirrel was pretty large...for a squirrel.

"Wait, is that a squirrel?" she asked.

Ryuu leaped at Kanjii thinking she was a squriell. "Rawr!" He screamed as he landed on top of her and started eating her hair.

Kanjii, instead of screaming like any other normal person ought to do, sat on the tree and looked politely puzzled.

"Er..."

She would've grabbed a handful of Ryuu's costume and tried to pull him off, but she really didnt' care much about her hair - it was really a bother, having to wash and brush it - and plus, she was just too lazy.

Ryuu finnaly let go after taking a big chunk of hair with him. "Oh man that was good squrriel." He said and turned around in shock that it wasnt a squriel it was a human. "Ahhh I'm sorry" He said and started to bow down over and over.

"...Okay," Kanjii replied, blinking and still looking rather confused. After all, how hungry was he to be hunting squirrels to eat?

"Well, I'm going to go and...see what's left of my hair now," she said, blinking again and climbing down the tree. She nodded at Hakkai and said, "It's been nice seeing you again. I'll come by tomorrow."

She disappeared through the forest quickly.

[[ And...yeah. gotta go. x__X; ]]

"Anyone around?"

Kanjii walked into the path and looked around. It seemed like Hakkai wasn't there, and it also seemed to her that there wasn't anyone else either. Then again, they could be hiding...but why would they want to do that? It wasn't like her death would make any great impact.

So she leaned lethargically against a tree and stared off blankly at the sky above.

Kanjii, startled, jumped, then quickly turned around to face Hakkai, attempting to look nonchalant and probably failing miserably. She didn't know, she couldn't see herself. But she felt awkward, so after a while she dropped the pose and slouched like she always did.

"Hey," she said, pushing some hair out of her eyes. "You didn't need to sneak up like that, you know. I thought for a second you were trying to attack me or something." She laughed a little.

Kanjii shrugged carelessly. It didn't really bother her right now. At the present, if he attacked she'd know, and so he wouldn't have any advantage. Besides, they were of the same village - why would he attack her? "I dunno," she drawled, looking idly up at the sky. A bird streaked by, but it was too fast for her to see what type. Well, probably wasn't a crow anyway. "Would you?"

"Ah, really?" Kanjii asked, curious now. Just slightly, her eyebrows lifted and her eyes were slightly more open than usual, but a decent amount of her pupils and irises were still hidden behind eyelids.

"Like...what kind of situations?" She noticed him sit down, but remained standing, and if she'd been asked why, she would've answered something along the lines of "Because it's wasteful use of energy to walk over and sit."

Shrugging, Kanjii thought it was an acceptable answer and didn't pursue the matter any further. Her interest winked out quickly, and so she moved on. "So, anything happen lately? Nothing here. My brother got another mission, which is good news, because my brother's a complete..." She frowned slightly, not knowing if Hakkai had any objection against swearing, but continued on anyway. "..a complete bastard."

Only half-listening - Kanjii'd spotted a bird in a tree - she replied, "Okay, I guess. My father's doing alright, even though my mother died recently. He's taking it pretty well. Same with my brother. I don't think he cried, he takes being a ninja pretty seriously."

Then the phrase "I miss mine" hit her like a bullet and she tore her eyes away from the bird and looked hard at Hakkai, trying to look through his expression. "What happened to your family?"

Kanjii laughed, and replied, "Oh, I can believe in the strangest things." She was curious again, and even knowing that it might be another touchy topic, she asked, "So, what did happen with your family?" She left the subject of his girlfriend alone.
