Kassiel Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 ok, post the pic you want me to use, describe the background you want, and text you want me to put in. An example of my previous work is my current sig.
Kassiel Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 Yeah. Would you like one? I need some practice.
Chiri-o Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 (edited) I like mine, so no thanks for now. -With yours, the renders are hard to see and are often distorted and have pieces missing. -The whole sig in general is distorted. -You can't read any of it. The backgrounds don't seem to have anything to do with the render, or don't even match. EDIT: I suggest changing your avatar. This is NA, not gaia. Edited August 13, 2007 by Chiri-o
Kassiel Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 I know it's not gaia, and I don't care, I like it, sides, I didn't get it from gaia. Heres some more work i've been doing, don't forget my sig, i'll edit it in once I change it.
Guthwulf Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 The avatar is meant to look like his character dude
Kassiel Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 Heres the sig i'm using in the contest, in which I epically fail.
Chiri-o Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 (edited) I know it's supposed to look like it.\ I don't care if you got it from gaia or not. It's still a gaia avatar. Is this gaia? No. Get some creativity. Do you even have permission to use Gaia's things while not on their site? Edited August 16, 2007 by Chiri-o
Seigen Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Chiro, be quiet about the damn thing, they obviously dot give a damn about your opinion. So, they don't take the time to change there avatar every 3 days. And if thats the way you feel, tell most of NA to get some creativity.
Kassiel Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 (edited) here's a new one that I just made. Edit: Made this one right after. Edited August 19, 2007 by Kassiel
Chiri-o Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 1.Try putting a border on it. 2. The background looks like you just mashed things together. 3. You can't really tell what is going on with the render. 4. The text is hard to read.
Kassiel Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 1: I don't really like putting borders, and will only do it as a request. 2: I blended the effects of the backgrounds 'till I got an effect I liked, ask me for a specific one and I'll give it. 3: I like to obscure the render partially, because it puts more focus on the background. 4: I can read it, and like the style. Ask me for a specific sig and I'll make it, if you don't want a sig, then don't criticize mine, because I made all of them for me, not you, except one, for Azazel.
Takius Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 What's the point of posting these things if you're not going to accept any opinions/critique? You'll never get better if you act all smug and self-satisfied. -disappears from topic-
Kassiel Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 ok, fine, criticize away, just to say, i'll only take advice i think is good, and if someone would like a sig, please post here.
shizuki Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 There are only some ways to distort your renders and make them still look good. The one with Light is not a good one. Don't squash your renders.
Kassiel Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 I know, i didn't scale it right, but most of the new ones I do are fairly well sized...I think.
Takius Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 (edited) -You might want to not do text until you can get the actual sig down - right now, your text often (if not all the time) clashes with the sig. -Your sigs all have too much going on at times; try to tone down the lightning, bubbles, whirlpools, etc - and try to keep them in some sort of matching colour scheme. -I don't think you know what blending is: you say you try to blend your renders into the sig, but all you're doing is covering them up and sticking them in a corner. Instead of that, you should sort of 'mold' them into the background while keeping them as a focus - try to work with smaller canvases to achieve the effect desired. -Oh, and for your latest ones... you should put the "Motion Blur"ed layer on top of the original render and blend it in on... maybe Lighten, Screen, Overlay, Soft Light, or whatever floats your boat. ViperRKB Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 As I said in the contest thingy. The ying-yang has very little to do with naruto as a person. If you made it something like the Leaf Symbol it would make more sense. In the newest one the blur is a little to light around his face, and the symbol on the right should be a little more opaque. As is the text. -My opinion-
Kassiel Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 Couldn't find a Konoha mark....annoyed at that...so yeah.
Chiri-o Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Why would you want to take focus off of the render? Sometimes your renders and backgrounds blend together in a way that makes it very unappealing. Borders make things stand out better.
ViperRKB Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Because he had just the render and a blob of background with a big blank spot on the left.
Kassiel Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 ...at least don't be mean about it... and besides that, i like to make my backgrounds uber...swirly...and make people dizzy with them, also, like i said, you want a border on a sig? ask for a sig with a border.
Chiri-o Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I'll pass on the sig... You definitely need to use better renders, or don't warp them so much.
