Stalwart, Mizumono received the punishing blows as if she wanted them to hit. Each strike shook her slender frame. Shoulder, Stomach, breast, arm, leg, she simply allowed herself to be pushed backward. The jutsu would finish just as a light breath would escape her lips.

Recoiling from the intensity of the NCIA soldier's attacks, Mizumono brought herself into a healthy stance once again. A smirk danced across her face, casting a rather impish shadows on her features. For a brief instant, her gaze shifted upward, into the leaves of the trees above. "You did rather well, for a bunch of wimps.", her compliment was honest, if not a bit sarcastic. Quickly, she flattened her hands and brought her arms together. Clap!, her hands clasped together. At that time, the many petals of the senbonzakura engulfed the soldier. It was at that moment that the questionable intent of the rampaging Hyuuga caught whiff of the other remaining soldier. Her left hand arced far to that very side, extending her fingers as far as they could reach. Thin appendages flexed, then curled into a fist. What would be perceived as exactly one half of the senbonzakura's beautiful mass then moved to asphyxiate the other soldier as well. Was it over at last?

Screams, fire, blaze, heat; all would erupt from the small little town of Kinomi no Toshi. From inside the desolate town, now its already miniscule population dropping through the deaths of its citizens. The Kumogakurean soldiers were in the process of destroying all buildings, establishments and relics in the town, ruining the festival. Despite the thoughts that the Berry Town would house shinobi of their own, they did not. However, there were two shinobi in the town; Soujiro and Tsukasa. Their ties unknown to the Konohagaukrean shinobi and only to themselves. But the two, they worked together in symmetry and compliment, partners as if they had for a long time. It was only unfortunate that the children would not see this unfold. But in the ravaging fires of Kinomi no Toshi, Soujiro battled with the acting general of the assault, along with a sundry of underlings, while Tsukasa provided backup support and also took the straight offensive time and time. The population was dropping though, the buildings were becoming charred with every passing second, every few minutes another was lit on fire. "Where is she?! The defect?” The general called out to the battling Jounin, his crimson tinted eyes never leaving the locked face of the general, his preverbal vision was enough to keep him protected, also armed with the support Genjutsu of Tsukasa to his back. "Why would I tell you? There's a reason I brought her with me, to protect her, and people like her from the likes of the Empire!” He shouted, his voice booming, emotions entwined in his vocals, a smirk spread across the violet haired general's thin lips as a cocky side was unearthed. "Fine, but she will be found, your team will be dead too. Or at the very least, she'll be tracked more. Hunter shinobi will find her, even if I die here too.” Soujiro was not happy by this, for it was entirely possible. Though, he did plan on watching over his children and guiding them, but he wasn't daft; he knew the consequences and what lay at stake. It was then, did Tsukasa call out meekly "Soujiro, I don't doubt him, I thought I saw and heard shinobi fighting up on the hill. I wouldn't doubt it was with our team.” Taking this in to consideration, he nodded, weighing more situations on his mind as he toyed with the general.

The battle had raged on, exchanging blows, more corpses fell to the ground, more lives became breathless and motionless. All during the duration of the battle of the baby Gennin. Namiko had stepped in, exercising her ability to heal, if only a short and basic degree. To some extent it aided them, helped the wounded and prolonged the life of some. But non could leave their town, none would escape. It was like a plague, from the village of Clouds. At the blast of an explosion, the inn the shinobi had stayed at, the inn of Namiko's family was burst in to flames, chunks breaking and crashing to the ground. "Namiko!” Tsukasa shouted in disbelief and shock, causing Soujiro to whirl around, scoping out the sights of his sister. The general he had been battling with was now, but a pile of ash. A final bout had proved Soujiro the winner, momentarily, but there was one battle that he could not win. A degree of shock and pain came over the Jounin as he rushed to his sister's side, her body crushed, bruised and bleeding. Smoke inhalation had taken its toll on her too. She laid on the ground, barely filled with life, her voice, fleeting. "…S..ou…jir…o…G-goodb…ye” She spat, before her eye lids closed, leaving her as a casualty. Soujiro, his face now covered in soot, turned to Tsukasa, a tear falling from his face, his voice stern and demanding. Suppressing emotion just barely long enough for the events to unfold. "Go. You know-" "Yes….I'm sorry Soujiro…I will take care of them.” Tuskasa nodded, several tears staining his face in hot salty pain as he dashed, as fast as his scrawny legs could carry him, away from Kinomi no Toshi. He did not wish to leave Soujiro, even though the NCIA shinobi still roamed about, but he knew it was the only way.

Soujiro was left in Kinomi no Toshi, clutching the corpse of his sister, while the NCIA shinobi began to gather, surround him and plan their advantage attack against him. From his kneeling position he stood, her body lifeless in his arms, his face patted with tears, his resolve unbreaking and his stare intimidating. "You…still persist? My sister did nothing to you…”

The shepherd, still in fluid motion trotted, up the hill, never looking back; but only forward, for it would pain him too much to throw a glance back over his shoulder, he already knew the stone cold truth. He already knew what would happen and was afraid for it. He had discussed their ‘plan' and knew of it for quite some time, but never thought it would be him, nor did he feel like it was rightful, but he would do it. For Soujiro. He was in pursuit of his children, the one's that he brought here, they were his goal. He knew he would arrive where he suspected them to be momentarily clashing. Time was against him, against all of them.

Spying ahead, he caught the vision of battle; blood painted on the grass, several of the Gennin remained in horrid condition, not fit for fighting, but still alive. The Hyuuga girl still stood strong, against two soldiers of the NCIA. Tsukasa caught wind of her movements, and in order to aid her; he swung his staff, the jewel in its core glowing faintly, the bodies of the two soldiers stiffened, taking the direct blows of Mizumono, and then crashing to the ground; two more souls to be guided to their final fate. Riding up to where Soujiro's students were, he looked at them sadly, shaking his head. His timid voice showed trace signs of leadership, but his words spiced his dread. "We must go, hurry. Now, follow me, ask questions later. I just ask of you to follow me, please.” He said, as he began to lead them away, their new sensei. From one questionable man to the next, all he asked was for their obedience, at least for now. They owed to Soujiro in the very least, he called t them, helping them if they fell, acted as a crutch if they were hurt.

It wouldn't matter how quickly they wobbled away, there was something in their background, in Kinomi no Toshi. The backs of their necks would feel immense heat, a sizzle to the exposed hairs on their body. The entire town was engulfed in an azure flame, a singular, cerulean fire. Soujiro was nowhere to be seen, nor was Namiko. No residence of Kinomi no Toshi would make it out alive. It was a phenomenal sight, a single flame that had devoured the town and its people, even the foreigners. As Tsukasa walked them on, he dearly wanted to turn around, but he would remain strong, for them, for Soujiro. While all the while, his face stained with his own tears. Leading them on In to the night, away from their morbid past.

Kinomi no Toshi; Concluded.
