Rilon Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Amisharo Suzuke walked through the ankle high grass. His black sandals brushed the dew drops off of the bright green blades. The bright sun beat down on the Tsuki Prodigy, the young man's golden skin shone, he wore what he had favored in life, his black pants with a large black jacket. The jacket was held under one arm, his body sported a mesh shirt that allowed the sun to brush his skin. His green eyes capturing the stray rays and reflecting them with a twinkle. This world he was in was calm and quiet, he had no use for his ninja arts that he had drawn upon so heavily in life. Something in the air changed, Suzuke turned to look at what had appeared. Happiness and sadness mixed when he realised what had materialized. The familiar figure brought back many memories for Suzuke, all of which were good. It's been awhile. Quote
Fluffywerewolf Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 When shodaan's eyes opened up, he was no longer on the ship. He was in a grassy field, and the sun bore down on him with a mother's gentleness. Clad once again in a black vest with equally dark, loose pants. A figure was walking towards him, a familiar shape, but one he could not quite place. Realization dawned on the young man, as the figure drew closer. Ebon hair, golden skin, and the glittering emerald eyes were all he needed to see. With his characteristic lack of emotional control he yelled out a name from is past. Suzuke! A single tear fell down his face, and he ran up to his friend, wrapping him inside of his arms. Shodaan's style remained unchanged in death, though he knew not that he was dead, and his reaction would have been easily predicted by those who knew him best. Quote
Rilon Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Suzuke returned the hug. He had not seen Shodaan is several months, although he was happy to see his dear friend again he was sure that Shodaan would have lasted many many more years. Suzuke felt that it would only be fair to tell him. Let's take a walk, Shodaan. I'd like to catch up with you. Suzuke turned and began to walk calmly, he didn't know how Shodaan would react to what he would tell him but Suzuke hoped he would take the news in stride. Coping with one's own death was a hard thing to do, Suzuke had struggled with the fact that he was no longer living for a week. The kindest thing would be to tell Shodaan softly that they were existing in the afterlife now. How have you been doing since I last saw you? Quote
Fluffywerewolf Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Shodaan followed Suzuke with out hesitation. He walked with suzuke, and for the first time in a long time, shodaan stood beside his dear friend looking out over the feild. Suzuke, how are we here? Didn't I... Shodaan's words trailed off, awaiting his friends response. Quote
Rilon Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Suzuke turned to Shodaan and smiled. We're dead, Shodaan. This is the afterlife, a place of pure spiritual energy where we may rest for eternity. These aren't our actual bodies but just representations, when I died my body had a hole punched through it, as you can see I'm in one piece now. This is just a memory of my form in life, represented by the purest of all chakras. Suzuke sat down in the grass, looking out over the fields. What's the last thing you remember, my friend? Quote
Fluffywerewolf Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Shodaan's face cracked into a grin. A deep belly laugh rumbled from him as full understanding dawned. Well, no sense in breaking it to me gently, huh? The large man flopped down into the deep grass beside his friend, gazing up at the skies, and replied to Suzuke's question. Well, i remember a sheep herder who hit me in the head with a big stick, poisoned me, and then put me in a boat... Then i tried to fight some woman, I dont know who it was, and then i think i blew myself up. Im not too sure, i wasn't quite up to par. You know, I took your life in the easiest way possible. I hope you felt no pain... The young man tried to make light of the conversation, but his voice trailed off nonetheless. It wasnt every day that one had to explain to a friend why one took their life. Quote
Rilon Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Suzuke burst out laughing. He couldn't help it, the matter of fact manner in which Shodaan told him of his last days on earth struck Suzuke as funny. When he was able to, Suzuke spoke. A sheep herder, huh? I wouldn't have seen that one coming, last I checked you were assassinating Kages and vaporizing ex-ANBU. No don't worry friend, I felt no pain, I didn't feel anything at all. Please forgive me for laughing it's just... Suzuke trailed off as he looked at the setting sun. He didn't feel tired, he couldn't in this world. He had no need to sleep or eat, he was a being of pure chakra now. He relaxed, feeling more at home in death than he ever had in life. Quote
Fluffywerewolf Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Gazing out into the distance, watching the setting sun, shodaan was reminded of a time before he had taken the path of a shinobi. For what seemed like the first time in ages, he allowed himself to relax and enjoy the scenery. He was beside his friend, and no longer had to worry about killing. I never killed any kage's, though i would have liked to. It's not everyday one gets the chance to fight off the most powerful of shinobi. He laughed again, shaking his head at the irony. He was able now to look back on his life without regret, despite having killed so many. He was at home here, in a world without violence, ninja, or schemes. His laugh trailed off into a contended grin. Quote
