The Ice Moutain

As Toru walked up to the mountain he wore his normal uniform but his shoes with cleats(sp?) and a dark blue scarf around his neck. The wind was blowing hard at the foot of the mountain causing his jacket to fly with his scarf. He stood there walking up slowly taking his time making a pace. His sword behind his back wasn't helping his trip at all but just added more weight. But there was no way he would leave home without it.

"This journey's gonna be hard... but I bet its worth it..."

He started to track up the icy hill. Not yet steep but was soon to become so. The only equipment he brang was his kunai pouch which may not have been efficient but this training wouldn't do much if he was completely prepared. No snow was in sight and no water aswell. Just hard frozen ice was amoung his path. He looked up to the very top. He estimated 200 feet high and sighed while saying

"Good luck Toru..."

To himself. And he started to walk off...

Kusugi arrived at the Ice Mountain. As he scanned the area he noticed someone hiking up the mountain. He walked over to the person and said, "Hey!"

Alex was running around the ice mountain, wearing warm winter clothes, with his family symbol in the arm, when suddenly he heard someone shouting...

"Hey!"

Was someone calling him? But he couldn't recognize the voice and he then thought:

"oh well, that's pretty weird, I can't see anyone else but me and I hear someone shouting. Whatever, I'll keep running."

And so, Alex kept running towards the pike of the ice mountain.

Koko also running was not prepared at all she had no wepons with her she just had a small back pack which had food for three days and a catapult with her that she'd found on her journey she ran and kept running untill she saw Alex and fired a small stone at his ass. She started laughing as it hurtled towards Alex.

"This is gonna be funny!" She said more to herself rather than anyone else her pet cat Midnight was by her side and perched on Koko's shoulder.

Koji sat against the rock about midway up the mountain breathing heavily. He wiped sweat of his forehead with the sleeve of his travelling cloak and slowly tried to open his eyes. As he did so, a horrific burning sensation spread through his eyeballs and he yelled throwing the palm of his hands into his eyes. The feeling didn't subiside however and he fell to the cold ground, writhing in pain. The whispering in his ear growing clearer and clearer. Yuma . . .

Koko sat and decided to fire more little stones at Alex as she thought it was gonna be fun Midnight jumpped off her shoulder and went off in search of food.

Alex heard something...or someone, behind him and before he could turn back something hit him in his butt.

"Hey Koko! funny as always eh?"

He noticed that Koko had almost nothing for her journey so he offered running toghether.

Then, after some minutes he found someone lying in the ground, he went to see what was happening...

Koji lay unconscious on the ground, in the shelter of his rock. A single trickle of blood ran down his cheek like a tear drop. The wind blew hard above him, making tortured noises in the cold air, as it whistled over the mountainside.

Alex ran towards Koji as fast as he could.

"hey! what has happened here?"

"anyway, i think we should carry him, while he is unconscious"

Koko looked at Koji.

"Yeah your right...we'd better get him to a safer place then we'll decide what to do from there!" Koko said grabing Koji and putting him over her shoulders.

"Come on..lets go" Koko said as she started to walk towards some trees.

"I saw a small hut on the way here it looked abandoned so i think we'll be safe there!" she stated as she walked.

"yeah...let's just rest here until he wakes up? I mean, this mountain is quite tough, so we should take it calmly..." Alex said, as he was sitting inside the hut

"do you have a way to make some fire? it might be useful you know..."

Koko put her bag down and pulled out some matches.

"will these do?" She said with a smile "i might come unprepared but never too unprepared" She said as she held the matches out towards Alex.

"hey! that was good!" "I thought i was prepared, but no matches in an icy mountain...I think i'll learn more than expected here" said Alex, as he took the matches and made some fire

"so, you come from the cloud village, don't you?"

"well du'h" Koko said as she pointed to her amulet that was around her neck.

"how'd you know my name?" Koko asked

"yeah...that was a retoric question, just wanted you to tell me a bit about you, hehe" said Alex with a kind smile in his face, "and about your name...i saw someone at the town talking to you, and i remembered that"

Koji . . . Slowly Koji awakened, hesitantly opening his eyes expecting unbearable pain at any moment. He sighed quietly when no pain came and turned his head only a little, looking about his new surroundings. He seemed to be in a dark room with a small fire throwing orange light across the floor. Around the fire sat two people he didn't know - they must have been the ones who brought him here. He guessed he better introduce himself and sat up slowly, gasping loudly as a bolt of pain shot through his head.

"Damn!" he yelled, clutching his forehead. Realising his actions he smiled sheepishly and looked up at the people by the fire. "Hehe . . . sorry"

Alex heard something when he was about to fall asleep

"Damn!...............hehe . . . sorry"

that guy was awaken! he could see him through the little flame.

"hey...are you ok? i mean what was up with you outside? oh by the way, i'm Gakyoha Alex, from Kiri..."

Koji looked across the room at the boy. He smiled and felt his relief growing, he was safe with them for the time being. They were young ninjas just like him.

"Hey, Alex. Im Ichimonji Koji from Kusa" he said, lowering him cloaks hood and revealing his village amulet. The next question was a little more difficult to answer though, Koji realised, and decided it was best to hold that back for the moment. At least until he knew these people a little better. He met the boys eyes and grinned

"I guess i dont know what happened to me outside . . . I was climbing up the mountain to clear my head and then . . ." he tailed of. He looked away for a second and forced the dark thoughts from his mind. " And then I guess i must have passed out and hit my head on that damned rock. That would explain the headache anyway!" he grinned broadly again, wincing only a little. That lie would have to do for now.

Alex noticed that the guy felt safe there, he was relaxed, but it did seem like if he was working his answers, thinking them a lot, maybe too much...but anyways, why should he lie?

"Koji...I don't know much about you but...if you don't mind i'd like to come along with you, i wouldn't like to see you falling, without help."

Alex wanted to help Koji, he seemed quite friendly, but anyways, there was something in that guy calling his attention...

Koji thought about this. It could be dangerous - for everyone involved - but he did seem to feel much better now. He looked at the boy and smiled.

"Well originally i came to this mountain to clear my head but i think that rock did a good enough job for me. So . . . yeah, i'd like it if you would come along with me, we could have fun i guess. . ."

Koji looked at his feet and silently thought for a second. He looked up again and said to the boy in a voice that was dead serious

"Promise me that whatever happens, you will be alert. If i pass out again, leave me. Understand?"

Alex was surprised, but that guy was hell serious, he knew what he was saying

"leaving you? well, you probably know what you're saying so ok, i'll be alert, koji. I just expect that not to happen, we'll have fun till the highest point of the mountain."

Koji smiled again. He hoped this guy understood how serious he was otherwise there could be problems.

"Great, i'll look forward to it. Right now though, I guess we should both get some rest - at least you should" he grinned at Alex.

"yeah, haha" Koji was right, Alex was sleeping when Koji woke up, so he decided he would rest some more.
