Aberacht Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) 白滝 | Shirataki Ryouki | 諒生 ... ... My thoughts? Stay out of my head. __________ The character behind the character. User Data: Posting: About every other day. Time Zone: Central Standard Time. __________ Just the basics, nothing special. Basics about Ryouki: ☩Name: Shirataki Ryouki (白滝諒生) White waterfall, reality, life. ☩Bloodline: Īnstrūmenta Animī. ☩Village: Konoha. ☩Age: Seventeen years old. ☩Date of Birth: April 23, 2098 AA. ☩Sex: Male. __________ Hey, the details aren't important... Physical Appearance: ☩Height: 5'9", or 69 inches. ☩Weight: 125 pounds. ☩Hair: Ryouki's hair is a pale blond and is generally well kept. ☩Eyes: His eyes are a striking light blue and known for their vague intensity. ☩Clothing: Ryouki isn't a particularly flashy individual, and his choice of clothes reflects this fact. Plain cotton shirts with simple colors and designs abound in his wardrobe, and he often wears a button-down on top if he doesn't believe he'll be doing anything strenuous that day. However, he abhors ties and formal attire in general. As he trains in the art of warping his own perception on reality, he also wears on a cord necklace a miniature navy blue anchor. Made of metal, Ryouki has memorized its weight and appearance as it helps to act as his literal anchor on reality while distorting it. ☩Physical Description: The strength of Ryouki is to be found in his mind, not in his muscles. His physique is less than average, and in a one-on-one brawl he would certainly lose to almost any other guy his age. That being said, he is not a complete weakling, nor is he inclined against physical exertion - it is just that he focuses all of his training on improving the skills he already has rather than on tangible strength. ☩Mental Description: Ryouki's mind is in an advanced state of awareness thanks to the Īnstrūmenta Animī (Tools of the Mind) that he wields. He quickly solves complex logical problems and harbors a reservoir of adaptive thinking strategies. In addition Ryouki is excellent at meditation and constantly hones his mental focus to reduce the degree that his thoughts wander. That being the said, the Īnstrūmenta have also affected him adversely. He is prone to occasional visual and auditory hallucinations, and sometimes doesn't realize he has injured himself until a few moments after the pain initiated. Often Ryouki can be found in a stressed state when his rationality is difficult to maintain, but such minor episodes are infrequent enough to not interfere with his everyday life. Truly, his greatest advantage and disadvantage is his mind. __________ Didn't I tell you to stay out of my head? Personality: ☩General: Shirataki Ryouki is a multi-faceted character. On normal days when he is blessed with a clear head, he is a mild individual who does his best to accommodate the wishes and ideas of those around him in order to prevent conflict. Neither quiet nor obnoxious, he expresses his views often and possesses a good sense of humor. Determined and intellectual, Ryouki's desire to learn new knowledge never ceases, nor does his advancement in the art of genjutsu. However, he is not entirely self-confident and occasionally harbors a fear that his character is somehow hollow. When it comes to his intelligence he is arrogant and assured of his superiority over his peers, and he can quickly get anxious when things are outside of his control. During bad times, when the mental afflictions imposed on him by the Īnstrūmenta Animī are harder to bear, Ryouki's personality can radically change. As the stress and tension gets to him, he can become impetuous and impatient, wrathful and unstable. To what degree his bad points can be attributed to the Īnstrūmenta, Ryouki will never admit. But his good side always outweighs the bad, and in the end Ryouki's intentions are as good as he can make them. __________ My past isn't up on exhibition, you know... History: Chapter One: ☩Konoha, 2106 AA (eight years old):The world was rapidly spinning around Ryouki. Red trees, blue grass, and an orange sky all shifted and expanded, retracted and swirled. It was extraordinarily disorienting, and the young ninja couldn't understand what was going on. "W-wha?! What's going on...?! How did I get here, where am I going, why is everything so weird, why do I keep thinking, why can't I stop thinking, I WANT TO STOP THINKING!" His thoughts raced ever faster and faster as the landscape around him continued to deteriorate. He felt that he was running, but when he tried to look around everything was suddenly still - and yet it continued to spin. Was he floating now? His stomach was tumbling and his senses were failing. It was like stumbling through a dream - he was powerless to help it. The sky was now magenta, and it was speaking to him in a shouting whisper. Its voice was hard to hear over the screams of the blades of grass. "Ryouki! Ryouki can you hear me? Boy listen to me!" The boy did hear the sky, but couldn't speak back. By now his mind was ready to explode with the sheer amount of thoughts passing through it. Suddenly, however, he felt an incredibly heavy sensation on his chest - it was in fact so heavy that he fell to the ground as the force pulled him ever downwards. Scrambling to gather enough sensation to see what was happening, Ryouki noticed the glowing end of the necklace he was wearing, the object which was hurting him. It was a small gray anchor, strangely normal in the midst of the chaos. "Ah!" he gasped in recognition. "Ahh...so that's it," he mumbled in his head as he took the anchor with both hands. He calmed down as he lay there, holding the small trinket, as the setting around him dissolved into normalcy. The magenta sky fragmented and shattered, revealing the blue behind it; the blue grass and the red trees melted in a similar fashion. Soon Ryouki was lying in a plain Konoha meadow, with a man seated next to him. He tried to sit up but found that he couldn't. "Dad...that was pretty bad, wasn't it..." His father looked at him calmly but with seriousness. "You still need focus training. I...didn't think you'd fall that far into Dissociation." He looked away, sighed, but returned to his son with a smile. "But it is fine, don't let this get to you. I was wrong for letting you try the art so soon. No one in our family has ever been successful at so young an age." Ryouki looked a bit upset, but he understood his father's words. "So no matter how good I am with the other stuff..." he trailed off. "That's right. I guess your mind just isn't old enough to handle it yet. But you will definitely succeed when you are older." He helped his son up on his feet. "Come on now, you need to get some rest after that. Dissociation is no easy task, even for your father." ☩Konoha, 2110 AA (twelve years old): The world changed when Ryouki was twelve. The fall of the Empire was a dramatic event, no doubt, but it did not affect him too much. His family may have been through a few hardships in the recent past, but he had been too young to notice any serious issues. Now it seemed that there were only good years ahead for Konoha. During these years was when his mental power truly began to grow. "Come, brother," ordered Ryouki's elder sibling, Masaru. "Attempt to break into my mind without genjutsu." Initially Ryouki was startled by the proposition, responding with, "I thought I wasn't old enough to...use the projection as a weapon yet." He glanced around, and then thought out-loud towards his brother (an effective form of whispering): "Wouldn't father get angry?" But Masaru was undaunted. "Don't worry so much, I was specifically instructed by dad to start training your projection skills today. So let's begin: direct a powerful emotion at me." Ryouki was still apprehensive about the idea, but he trusted that Masaru was telling the truth; furthermore he knew his brother could handle whatever he could throw at him. So he breathed deeply and let his suppressive concentration lax while he increased his cognitive concentration. The boy already knew these basics from reading about them and accidental use of the skill before. After a few seconds of preparation, Ryouki conjured a dense, raw emotion in his mind and willed it towards Masaru. Unseen to those of the physical world - but detectable to those of the mental - the sharp bolt of neural might began to radiate immediately from Ryouki; but it then collapsed and sent a shock back towards its creator. Stumbling back a few feet, Ryouki narrowly avoided being knocked over. Clutching his head as if he had experienced a day's worth of headache in a moment, he stammered to his brother, "I-I don't get it - what went wrong?" Masaru responded bluntly with a sour expression on his face. "Easy - you released your concentration before the emotion was fully formed. And you used a badly shaped emotion to begin with. If you try and fight like that, you'll be completely useless. Come on, do it again." "Badly shaped...huh," Ryouki thought as he walked a few steps forward. "What kind of shape is needed, I wonder..." To his discontent, Masaru could hear his brother's thoughts quite clearly as he hadn't restored his focus yet. "Hey Ryou - don't ever let your suppressive concentration down except the moment you attack. Otherwise every enemy ninja in a hundred feet radius is gonna know what you're going to do next. Do it right," he emphasized. Ryouki intended to. Whether or not he could manage was another matter. Again, he focused on a raw yet undefined emotion and tried to shape it into a proper form as detailed in the manuscripts he had read on the Īnstrūmenta. "Into a javelin...no, wait! That's too concrete. More abstract...um...a..." Ryouki didn't know the word for what he was thinking of, but the form seemed abstract enough to work. He released it and again a bolt of mental energy was sent screaming towards Masaru. This time, to Ryouki's encouragement, the blow seemed to make contact! And yet, his brother didn't seem to be fazed in the slightest. Masaru, whose eyes had been closed, opened slowly. "Ryou, that wasn't even a knock. That was you poking a twig on the door of my mind. Such an obtuse form will never work..." He continued on about the deficiencies of Ryouki's attack. He really did expect much of his younger brother, especially since a month ago Ryouki had become the youngest person in the last two generations to achieve a decent level of dissociation. But when he saw how much his words were hurting Ryouki's hopes, he sighed and relented. Walking up to him, he put his hand on his brother's shoulder. "It's alright Ryou. You're new to this after all. Come inside, let's eat lunch - I'll try to describe to you the form my mental attacks take when they are still in my head." Ryouki was a bit sullen, but he was also glad to have an understanding brother. Still, he was disappointed in his inability to quickly learn offensive projection. He was determined to get the hang of it as soon as possible. That autumn of training... was a long one. ☩Konoha, 2115 AA (seventeen years old): "What does the future hold? What awaits my son next month, or even next year?" Ryouki opened his eyes and spoke. "That is what you thought, am I right?" His father smiled at him. "More or less. The point, after all, is to get the general idea, not the specific words." He was even a bit impressed. "And to pick up such a complex idea by form alone...truly admirable, Ryouki." The not-so-young boy grinned back at his dad. "So, so, does this mean I've perfected it? I've worked so hard on my sensory concentration these past weeks." But his father laugh good-naturedly at him. "Perfect? Oh no, son, it will take decades before you master any part of the Īnstrūmenta. But for your age, you are excellent." And it was true. Ryouki's cognitive growth easily showed his aptitude for the mental arts. His ability to dissociate had overtaken Masaru's two years ago, and the two brothers could mentally project thoughts at the same level as well. True, Masaru had a devious talent for somatization and was also training to be quite able in taijutsu as well (a distraction that few other ninja from the Shirataki family had ever dabbled in). But, each sibling has their own talents, strengths, and weaknesses. "So dad, you've seen my talent - how much greater do you think my skills can become?" To any observer, his father merely looked at his son for a few moments in silence. But Ryouki could hear the unspoken words, and grinned. He turned away and went outside, eager to continue his training. Chapter Two: United We Stand, Divided We Fall:On this day Ryouki, under the "wisdom" and "guidance" of his new sensei Toruka, met his new teammates: Yuuki and Zereon. The day quickly soured due to their collective foolishness, ultimately resulting in humiliating (and dangerous) trials. Luckily, the moment was salvaged when they were given pardon and commanded to assist the people of the Inuzuka clan. Ryouki was able to help a man locate a missing key, to what he did not know, using his talents in Mental Projection and in reading cognitive stimuli. Feeding the Wolves: A simple mission. Take out some sentries, investigate a camp. How had it gone so terribly wrong? Ryouki, along with his teammates Yuuki, Yuugure, and Zereon (with teacher Toruka) were attacked by a marauding band of nightmarish creatures. Only after a desperate escape and rescue by the Hokage himself was the group saved. Under superior orders, Ryouki has erased many of the details of the incident from his memory, and yet surely those creatures will haunt his dreams for years to come... Pax Post Terrorem: Beyond the terrors of the nightmarish mission, Ryouki rested for a few days before meeting up with Yuuki for some genjutsu training. After mental fortitude training, the two had a game of illusory hide and seek, in which after much hard work Yuuki finally managed to find Ryouki despite a number of genjutsu tricks and traps. Proelium Duorum: Yuuki and Ryouki have a short spar, which Ryouki wins convincingly. Sententia et Animus: Ryouki practices scholarship with his own personal investigation into the Scroll Arts. __________ Edited March 20, 2011 by Aberacht

Skills: ☩Current Skill Points: 6. +17 from leveling up. -6 from Bloodline skills. -8 from Positive skills. +3 from Hindering skills. Bloodline Skills: Īnstrūmenta Animī[Tools of the Mind] The mind is a powerful tool. When the sensory inputs of an individual are manipulated, in the process we like to call Genjutsu, even the heavens themselves can be brought as an illusory weapon against foes. But the enemy's mind is not the only place where a skillful ninja can work wonders - his own consciousness is also a blank canvas ripe for intentional exploitation. Those who inherit the Īnstrūmenta Animī are trained to separate themselves from reality, to open their mind to the world around them, and to spread the pain they experience to their foes. A thought is a threat. An emotion is a blade. And pain is the mechanism for victory - whether or not that pain truly existed in the first place or not. Cognitive Dissociation☩Description: Pain is something the mind creates, but it can also destroy the mind. Individuals who go through traumatic experiences, whether or not they endure any physical harm at all, can emerge from them shattered, with a fragmented way of thinking. Having an overwhelmed psyche is never a healthy endeavor, but the way to escape such pain, dissociation, may not be worth the relief - unless, that is, you are trained in the art. Conscious Cognitive Dissociation is a genjutsu-related art made for the sake of lessening the impact of pain during battle and other events. This is achieved by putting oneself in a genjutsu which disrupts mental capabilities, most importantly those related to pain - however, this comes at a price. While using dissociation a person becomes increasingly irritable and irrational as they lose their grip on reality on purpose in order to evade pain. Time may slow or speed up for the individual; he may become nearsighted and be unable to focus visually or mentally; his surroundings may warp in shape or color; he may even lose the ability to talk. However, at this point he is not 'insane' nor is he 'crazy.' Merely, he has chosen to loosen his grip on reality for a little while so that the agony of fighting may subside for a bit. ☩Roleplay Effects: Outside of battle, the character may still feel the residual effects of using dissociation and be a bit dulled to pain. However, his normal rationality is completely secure and functional so long as he has not left dissociation immediately prior. ☩Rank Requirements: ---Rank 1: Gennin rank, 2 SP. ☩Battle Effects: During the setup phase the user may choose to activate or deactivate "Cognitive Dissociation." Chakra regeneration is negated while the ability is active. Deactivating "Cognitive Dissociation" returns half of the user's concentration points that were reduced due to the use of this skill. Concentration reduction due to this skill is only once per enemy per turn. ---Rank 1: The user's concentration stat is reduced by 20% and becomes the sole defensive stat when calculating damage. It is also reduced by 6% after taking damage. Mental Projection☩Description: People are constantly projecting their thoughts into reality in the form of actions, but the physical realm is not the only place where a battle can be fought. The art of genjutsu was developed for the purpose of taking a conflict into the mind through the senses, where armor is useless and the foe much more susceptible. However even in these situations the attack is one involving hand seals and chakra. Not so for the ninja with Mental Projection - known literally as "having an open mind." Their thoughts and emotions are not limited to their body and are unshielded from the outside world. Stand close and you shouldn't be surprised to hear the faint whispers of their mind as if listening to a quiet radio on the other side of a room; if empathic enough, you might even be able to feel their emotions as well. If the ninja doesn't focus at all times, this can be a detriment to concentration since having such unbounded thoughts can lead to aloofness. However in battle this disadvantage can be manipulated deviously - powerful bursts of emotion become mental strikes if directed carefully, and genjutsu cost less chakra since the vocal mind can access enemies' consciousnesses easier. When under extreme duress, even standing next to a ninja with an open mind could result in severe mental scarring. ☩Roleplay Effects: The character is often either aloof or stressed, depending on if they attempt to control their thoughts or not. The character's thoughts/intents are occasionally revealed in part to others around him or her, with clarity of those thoughts increasing at higher ranks. A character may suppress the evocation of their thoughts at mental strain to themself or through long-term focus training. While under duress or any other stressful situation, the ability to contain thoughts is greatly reduced. ☩Rank Requirements: ---Rank 1: Gennin rank, 2 SP. ☩Battle Effects: The user is allowed to use mental basic attacks (in the form of mental outbursts, not illusory punches/kicks). These cost 5 chakra and deal 5 damage and get no regular modifiers. Instead, they deal an additional 1 damage for every 10 Genjutsu you have. This is considered a genjutsu attack as well as a mental basic attack. All decimals are rounded up. ---Rank 1: The user, in all instances, has a -10% chance-to-dodge and chance-to-hit applied before all other modifiers. Upkeep for stat-reducing genjutsu is 60% per turn. Neural Somatization☩Description: Somatization disorders are a rough concept in the world of medicine, but can be described as disorders in which the sufferer experiences physical problems without any apparent cause or source. The symptoms of such problems are extremely varied and can be difficult to treat. However in the context of the mental arts, somatization is a devious weapon, not a medical anomaly. Ninja who are trained in the skill of Neural Somatization can abuse their own suffering to the detriment of their enemies. When they are burned, impressed with a migraine, or even physically bound, a user of this art can vicariously take the situation they are in and replicate in detail that same experience in the form of genjutsu. These genjutsu are known for their realism as the user is not hazily conjuring up a situation from memory but rather mimicking a vivid moment that they are currently experiencing. While powerful, this skill is obviously not always successful because the pain itself can interfere with the concentration needed to form the proper genjutsu. Furthermore, it is a physically draining art that demands much of the user. ☩Roleplay Effects: Perceptive individuals may sense any afflictions the character has simply by being around him, but mostly there is no visible effect on the character outside of battle. ☩Rank Requirements: ---Rank 1: Gennin rank, 2 SP. ☩Battle Effects: The user's genjutsu that successfully target an enemy also inflict any status effect that the user is currently suffering from, as long as the enemy does not already have that status effect. The status effect has the same effect and duration that remain on the user when he uses the genjutsu. This skill does not work on ninja of a higher rank than the user, nor can it be used to inflict a status effect more times than limited by the user's rank. The target also rolls a D12 for each status effect: ---Rank 1: On a 1 through 6, the status effect is not inflicted. Every successful infliction lowers the user's chakra and genjutsu stat by 6% of its base amount. Note: The Īnstrūmenta Animī are not associated with a particular clan. Instead they are an advanced set of skills passed down in a very broad and loosely associated group of families. Positive Skills: Quick Learner☩Effects: +10% EXP From Missions and Training. EXP given as holiday gifts or handed out from events by the staff is not included in this. ☩Description: Ruthlessly intelligent, Ryouki greatly emphasizes his own power to learn swiftly. While his arrogance sometimes gets him in bad situations, arrogance alone does not mitigate his academic prowess. ☩Cost: -2. Path of the Scholar ☩Effects: Character gains 1 extra jutsu point per level Scholarly Mastery: -May gain 2 ranks of 'Scribe' for 1 skill point. -May gain 2 ranks of 'Scroll Arts' for 1 skill point. ☩Description: Acute knowledge of the world around them. This ninja has studied their world through many ways and is a quick mind when it comes to absorbing knowledge. With a keen eye for detail and a photographic memory to boot. This does not, however, mean they are good at processing this information. ☩Restrictions: Players can only apply this path to characters which actually spend a portion of their time, or have spent a portion of their time, studying in a scholarly sort of fashion. ☩Cost: -1. Elemental Abstraction ☩Requirements: Path of the Scholar. ☩Effects: The user can use genjutsu of any element without the prerequisite Subtle Elements and Combinatorial skills; however, elemental genjutsu that are used because of this skill count as "Void" for all effects and purposes. This skill does not grant the user access to other skills that may have elemental requirements, it only grants access to the use of elemental genjutsu. ☩Description: Genjutsu users have the unique ability to abstract situations which would normally be impossible to create. In their illusive techniques, black holes and continents could conceivably be conjured as weapons against unsuspecting enemies. A good scholar need not know the specific details of an idea in order to roughly replicate it; therefore, scholars who have gathered the general idea behind an elemental chakra can easily imitate it in their genjutsu with almost no noticeable difference in result. True, the subtle powers that are granted by properly combined chakras do not exist in these substitutions. However, the essence of the technique itself is maintained to the fullest. ☩Cost: -1 SP. Subtle Elements; Fire ☩Effects: May use Fire element techniques. All Fire Techniques deal an additional 5% of their total damage in burn damage (bleed damage when burn damage doesn't make sense) on the following turn, rounded up. ☩Cost: -0 (native Konohagakure ninja). Scribe [Rank 4] ☩Effects: You may inscribe techniques into scrolls. These techniques have 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, or 100% of the original posts/damage (depending on your rank in the skill). Any technique that ends up being a number less than one cannot be inscribed within the scroll. ☩Description: Following the Path of the Scholar, Ryouki knows well how to take the dynamic nature of a chakra-based jutsu and transmit it onto paper so that the ability may be called back at a later date. ☩Cost: -2 (Path of the Scholar). Scroll Arts [Rank 2] ☩Effects: You may use more than one scroll per battle. For every rank in this skill you gain access to one more scroll per fight. ☩Description: As a scholarly ninja proficient in the use of scrolls, Ryouki is able to use the medium multiple times in the short spans of time of a battle. ☩Cost: -1 (Path of the Scholar). Focused Movement ☩Effects: +10% to Genjutsu effects and -15% to dodge. Stances may be changed during the Response Phase or Setup Phase by sacrificing that phase and only one may be active at a time. ☩Description: By focusing on their genjutsu effects a ninja can increase the potency of their effects; however, at the same time they lose focus on the enemy attacks and evasion becomes harder. ☩Cost: -1. Hindering Skills: Merciful☩Effects: Whenever you would deal the finishing blow in combat to an opponent, you must let them live with one HP left, only applies once a battle. ☩Description: Even in moments of his greatest mental delusion, Ryouki has a basic, underlying shred of compassion which makes him averse to killing. He does not mind severe incapacitation of foes and he would always rather to not kill someone. ☩Cost: +1. Poor Stamina Manipulation ☩Effects: Before using a taijutsu technique, roll a d10. On 1 or 2, the jutsu fails. You may not take another action this turn, but the stamina is not lost. May not have Sealed Taijutsu. ☩Description: Ryouki, who has focused entirely on the arts of the mind, has entirely neglected physical strength training. He has just as much daily endurance as a regular ninja, but when it comes to hand-to-hand combat he is a complete failure. ☩Cost: +2. __________ My mechanisms of victory. Techniques: ☩Current Jutsu Points: 48. +31 from leveling up. +21 from Path of the Scholar. +4 from Special Events (see Monetary log). -3 from Direct Genjutsu. -5 from Indirect Genjutsu. -0 from Other Genjutsu. -0 from Other Techniques. Direct Genjutsu: Fulgurum Amārōrum [Impulse of Bitter Lightning]☩Type: Genjutsu [Personal]. ☩Rank: Gennin. ☩Cost: 60 chakra. ☩Damage: 60 ghost damage. ☩Effect: None. ☩Description: In this brute force technique, Ryouki does not manipulate the target's senses into seeing illusory attacks as with traditional genjutsu. Rather, he uses his skill with the Īnstrūmenta Animī to simply release a tremendous amount of mental energy directly onto the enemy's consciousness. Those unfortunate enough to have been hit by it say that it is similar to how they imagined being hit by lightning would feel - and despite the lack of any visible, vertical bolt, the idea stuck. ☩Points: 3 JP. Indirect Genjutsu: Terrōris Rubeī [Illusion of Red Dread]☩Type: Genjutsu [Personal]. ☩Rank: Gennin. ☩Cost: 60 chakra. ☩Damage: 20 ghost damage. ☩Effect: The target is "Afraid" for two turns. ☩Description: Ryouki is normally a mild individual, but in battle he is known for his brutal genjutsu used to quickly pacify enemies. In this technique, Ryouki makes the target see three orbs of blood which rapidly appear out of thin air. These morbid spheres surround the foe and explode into solid shards, creating the illusion of blood impalement. Needless to say, being caught in such a genjutsu easily leads to fear and terror. ☩Points: 3 JP. Afflīctio Constantiae [Tormenting Confidence] ☩Type: Genjutsu [Personal]. ☩Rank: Gennin. ☩Cost: 30 chakra [upkeep varies]. ☩Damage: 6 ghost damage. ☩Effect: The target's ninjutsu, accuracy, and speed stats are reduced by 10 for four turns. ☩Description: Through manipulating the target's senses, Ryouki makes an aura of powerful energy seem to surround himself. This apparent increase in strength is coupled with consciously instilling dark feelings of doubt into the enemy's mind, and helps to break their confidence. Furthermore, the initial burst of radiance that the enemy perceives is also an expanding wave of mental might - being caught unprepared in it causes a degree of pain. ☩Points: 2 JP. Other Genjutsu: Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique)Type: Genjutsu. Rank: Academy Student. Cost: 10x chakra. Description: Creates an illusionary replica of the user. It is unable to attack or interact with other objects, but can serve as a good distraction. Effect: Adds +5x evasion and +5x accuracy for each clone. Once a clone is hit it is destroyed, and the bonuses with it. A bunshin is considered to have 0 evasion and rolls to dodge whenever it is targeted in the user's response phase. The value of x is the number of clones you have made. Maximum of 8 bunshin can be made. Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) Type: Genjutsu. Rank: Academy Student. Cost: 5 chakra. Effects: Change your appearance. A character 25+ levels above the one who uses this technique can see through it. Description: Wrap chakra around your body to change your appearance. You take that physical form, but only to a certain extent, such as body shape and size. You cannot, for instance, turn your arm into a bow and start firing ammunition at an opponent. Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Substitute Technique) Type: Ninjutsu. Rank: Academy Student. Cost: 10 chakra. Damage: None. Effects: Evade the next attack aimed at you. Skip your main and setup phase this turn. You can only use this 1 time per battle. This technique cannot be used to dodge Ninjutsu, Taijutsu or Genjutsu Techniques. Description: A lifesaver, and a must-have technique. With this technique, the user is able to swap their body with a nearby object, usually a log, which will take the full force of any incoming blows for them, while they retreat to safe ground or search for an opening.
