History: Karada was born into a farming family, staying with her mother and learning the basics of housework and cooking at an early age. Her father was a rice farmer who lost his farm in the famine and had to take up working as a farmhand for someone else. Isogi was completely livid at the Otogakure government for spending so much on military when he could barely feed his family. Isogi got caught up in the Famine Riots shortly afterward and after the clash of ninjas against the angry peasants Isogi was lost in the confusion. Kana presumed him dead, although no body was ever found. Kana was forced to participate in the more "unfortunate" professions available in Rice Country. Debt eventually piled up until Kana had no choice but to give up Karada to the ninja academy for support. Karada blatantly refused to be a ninja, still holding on to hopes of making it big and saving her parents. Out of desperation, her mother insisted that it was a cooking academy, and so Karada quietly acquiesced, trusting her mother. Of course most children would have realized it was a lie the moment she arrived, but Karada's trust in her mother was enough for her to either ignore obvious inconsistencies or outright hallucinate that things were perfectly normal for a cooking school. As far as she was concerned, she was learning "cooking" techniques when she was practicing cutting and fighting. For that reason, she never learned any genjutsu, saying it wasn't relevant to her studies. Subconsciously, she probably knows the truth and will instinctively use expert tactics if her life truly depends on it, but as far as she knows consciously, Karada is just a cook. She graduated from the academy, partially by dumb luck and partially on her unconscious skill. She lives on a ninja's salary and small baking jobs, just barely enough to make ends meet in the economy of Rice Country.

Style

Name:Serpent Style

Effect: Venom Charges reward the user bonuses based on the amount of charges that they currently have. If a user is ever struck by a critical hit from an opponent they immediately loose all Venom Charges they have.

0 Charges: No bonus.

1 Charge: The user gains +2% chance to Critical Strike with all Taijutsu techniques.

3 Charges: The user gains +6% chance to Critical Strike with all Taijutsu techniques.

4 Charges: The user gains +8% chance to Critical Strike with all Taijutsu techniques.

5 Charges: The user gains +10% chance to Critical Strike with all Taijutsu techniques.

Additionally, the user may at any time during their Main Phase spend a Venom Charge to increase the chance of a single attack to critical by 25%. This skill cannot be used in correlation with other skills that increase critical strike chance. This skill also does not stack with other skills that passively increase critical strike chances.

Requirements: Otogakure Ninja or 5 post training session with a ninja who already knows this skill.

Description: To control one’s attacker you must control their joints and pressure points. Thus is the philosophy of the Serpent Style, which uses a series of setup strikes to build openings in an opponent which can lead to more devastating attacks as well. By taking advantage of join manipulating strikes and pressure points on the opponent’s body, a user of this style can chip away at their opponent’s defense and create their own openings that will lead to even further punishment to the enemy. This style was derived from a very harsh Judo philosophy that originated in Denchi no Kuni. Taught and practiced by farmers as they traveled between villages for trade to help protect them from bandits, the users of this style would often find themselves against opponent’s who were stronger. It was because of this that the style evolved as it did.

Cost: -1

Name: Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique)

Type: Genjutsu

Rank: Academy Student

Cost: 10x

Description: Creates an illusionary replica of the user. It is unable to attack or interact with other objects, but can serve as a good distraction.

Effect: Adds +5x evasion and +5x accuracy for each clone. Once a clone is hit it is destroyed, and the bonuses with it. A bunshin is considered to have 0 evasion and rolls to dodge whenever it is targeted in the user's response phase. The value of x is the number of clones you have made. Maximum of 8 bunshin can be made.

Name: Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique)

Type: Genjutsu

Rank: Academy Student

Cost: 5 Genjutsu

Effects: Change your appearance. A character 25+ levels above the one who uses this technique can see through it.

Description: Wrap chakra around your body to change your appearance. You take that physical form, but only to a certain extent, such as body shape and size. You cannot, for instance, turn your arm into a bow and start firing ammunition at an opponent.

Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Substitute Technique)

Type: Ninjutsu

Rank: Academy Student

Cost: 10

Damage: None

Effects: Evade the next attack aimed at you. Skip your main and setup phase this turn. You can only use this 1 time per battle. This technique cannot be used to dodge Ninjutsu, Taijutsu or Genjutsu Techniques.

Description: A lifesaver, and a must-have technique. With this technique, the user is able to swap their body with a nearby object, usually a log, which will take the full force of any incoming blows for them, while they retreat to safe ground or search for an opening.

Snake Fatal Wound (Hebi Chimei Kizu)

Type: Taijutsu [Oto; Serpent]

Rank: Gennin

Cost: 80 Stamina

Damage: 25

Effect: The opponent will suffer from 30 bleed damage for three (3) turns. The user must have a bladed weapon.

Description: The user of the Venom Style will use their bladed weapons as vicious combo to open deep wounds upon their opponent. With the weapons in hand, the user cuts into the target's left arm, followed by spinning around and cutting across their right arm and then finally twisting around to cut a dip just below their neck. At first, the damage seems small, but in a short amount of time, the wounds open and the full force of the attack is felt. When the wounds heal, the scratches will look like a snake's body curling around its prey.

This looks fine, statistically for the most part. Stat modifiers are awarded in increments of 20 but you're not required to have them in that fashion.

Furthermore, I like your history but it could use some beefing up so we can a better view of your character in respect to the game's timeline. Read up on these links to give you a better understanding.

It's probably worth pointing out your character will not be able to use the technique you spent your points on until she has 80 in her Taijutsu stat. To use any Taijutsu technique you must have at least x in your Taijutsu stat to do so, where x is the stamina/chakra cost of the technique... It won't be a problem later on obviously, but until the character levels up she's out of luck.

Thanks for the advice. I added a little more history-relevant info about her family and shuffled the stats around to fit the technique requirements. Let me know if there's anything else I'm missing.

xD An Oto-nin who doesn't like music made me laugh.

Name: Warrior (Katana)

Effect: An attack from the specific weapon will deal a bonus +5 Damage per strike (per rank).

Cost: -1 (For two ranks. Path of the Warrior.)

Missing it's Rank.
