-Height: 5'4”

-Weight: 100 lbs

-Hair Color: Red (not orange), Will have random groups of hair that were dyed black most of the time.

-Eye Color: Light blue

-Clothing:

Head: Headband on his forehead

Chest: A green short-sleeved shirt. Over that he will usually be wearing an old dark gray poncho with a hood on it. He will wear the front of the poncho pushed back when in combat, but otherwise he keeps it over himself.

Arms/Hands: He wears a leather glove on his left hand, but not his right, his 'work glove'. On his right hand he wears a string of brown beads with a wolverine tooth hanging on it.

Legs/Feet: For pants, Kuzuri wears black baggy cloth pants. Around his waist is a sash of dark green cloth with a leather belt around that containing his weapons. His shoes are a type of sandal that can easily be removed. While not in an area that could be detrimental to the feet, Kuzuri will not wear shoes, choosing barefoot instead.

-Physical Description:

While his name (Kuzuri – Wolverine) references one of the strongest animals (of its kind) Kuzuri is not. He doesn't look like he is built for anything but sitting in one place and writing or reading. He is small for his age, but he keeps saying (possibly jokingly, you can't tell sometimes) that he will hit his growth spurt eventually. Matching his short height, he is by no means a physically strong fellow. He could even be called a little scrawny. His skin is also very fair (you could say a little pale) probably due to lack of sunlight.

Around his right wrist(which he covers with beads) and his left leg are blue bands. He read a book once on tattooing, and without really thinking of the effects, he quickly experimented on himself. Overall, he liked the result, but he looks back and says that a darker color may have been better.

His feet are something of a concern for his parents, as they are usually covered in mud and cuts. He rarely wears his sandals, and his parents only just were able to convince to at least carry them around with him at times so if he had to get by broken glass he wouldn't have to walk through it (as he may as opposed to having to put out the energy to go around it).

His eyes are his most striking feature. Although his messy red hair is in them most of the time, they almost shine beneath it. They are a very light blue color, and they seem almost soft when you look into them, which contradicts the occasional staring he does with them.

Kuzuri's parents also say that his smile is nice to look at when it is genuine, which is rare, but when it happens a person who knows him will know that he is truly happy.

~Persona~

Personality:

An awkward teen is what some of his teachers have called him (not to his face of course) as Kuzuri comes off as a little...odd. He won't talk too much...We'll that's not wholly true. He will talk, but it usually doesn't contribute always to the conversation at hand. He will usually either seem distracted by something or say something that is wholly inappropriate. It's not like there is anything really wrong with him, he is just...odd.

He also is a bit of a loner. He will sit either in the back or the front corner of class (whichever is less populated). He isn't exactly anti-social, he just doesn't appreciate people as much as someone else might. He finds them sometimes as strange as they find himself.

His passion in life is being a puppeteer. He loves having control over an inanimate object, and almost make it life-like. He doesn't really think of it as an art in itself, but he appreciates how it is, in a way, acting! In his point of view, when he moves the puppets, he is acting through a thing, more difficult than yourself acting. He even uses a voice box in some of his toy puppets to speak in different voices. Sometimes he will refer to his puppets as his 'friends' although he may (or may not) be doing it just to creep people out.

He usually wears his hood up as well, and doesn't go outside much. Usually he is working on his puppets or else reading. He reads everything and that is one of the things that got him into puppets, but more on that later.

(KNOWLEDGE FURTHER IN THIS SECTION IS NOT FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT SEEN HIM ACT THIS WAY TO KNOW)

He is a lot more self-concious (not the bad kind, but the literal kind) about himself than most people think. He understands his apparent 'creepiness' but he accepts it and plays it up even to creep people out. He doesn't make many friends this way, but he entertains himself quite a bit. He has a self motto that he doesn't need to change but people should really see beyond what he appears to be.

Under the surface, he is a good person. He also has a fire burning within him to succeed, but unlike many who follow what other people do, he wants to walk a completely different path. He wants to be a ninja, mainly because he wants to help people. One of the ways he helps, he thinks, is to become a target. He thinks he can handle the problems of having people make fun of him and that takes the responsibility away from others. In his mind, he is doing someone out there a favor.

While all of that is true, it is also true that he is still a little different deep down, which could be good or bad, based on his experiences through his life. Only time will tell what he will end up like, if he will truly become a creepy person who looks out for himself, or if he is a good outgoing person. Or maybe he may be both. The best part, he figures, about the future, you don't really know, so don't worry about it.

History:

Born in Konoha, Kuzuri's father named him after the strong animal. He had a daughter (who was 6 at that point) but he had always wanted a son. Now he had one. He had hoped giving his son a strong name would help him grow up to be strong like himself. He wanted his son to carry on the business their family name held, carpenter. As Kuzuri grew up, though, his father found that the son he had hoped for probably would never come forth.

Kuzuri's sister was the one who had pushed her brother in a different direction. When he was about four, she had already shown great promise in becoming a ninja, and would be off to the academy soon. She realized that maybe it wouldn't be his choice to become what their father had in store, so she instead took him every once in awhile(while their parents weren't looking) and taught him how love books. She read to him at first, but then he slowly worked his own way into reading them, and by the time she was enrolled in the academy, he was in love with reading.

He started with easier books, but he slowly worked his way to harder and harder topics. Eventually, he found his way to easier text books and even one of his sister's ninja books when she wasn't looking. He opened it to a random page. It was a history book, and in the section he was in, it talked about ninjas, who didn't fight themselves, but controlled puppets to do so for them.

For some reason, he found this fascinating, but he didn't follow it up, not right away. He had been about 6 when he had found it. During the next two years, his father tried to get him to get interested in his work, but Kuzuri wasn't as interested in the making of furniture. When his father would bring him into his workshop, he would give him a piece of wood and ask him to make a small table or chair with it, just to see if he would. He was overjoyed when he saw his son pick it up and start to work. He left Kuzuri to his own devices and came back later.

When he returned, Kuzuri hadn't made a small piece of furniture, but he had tried to make a sculpture of a man. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't poorly done either. Kuzuri's father still wasn't pleased, but that marked the time when he had a feeling that his son wasn't going to follow in his footsteps.

During the years before he was 8, Kuzuri would steal pieces of wood from the workshop, and he would carve them into different shapes. He would make people, animals, or sometimes plants. He just wanted to create the things.

When he was 8, his sister was a ninja (almost considered a chunin) but due to the NCIA, she had to operate under cover. She didn't live with their family anymore, but she did live in Konoha under a different name. She would still visit her family, and with skills that she had trained herself with, she was able to stay undetected.

His sister, on one of her visits, gave Kuzuri her old books that taught one about being a ninja, (making sure he knew how to hide them if their house was searched). He had looked at some of the books before and while re-reading them, he came to a page about puppets (the same he had years ago). He remembered why he had started to carve things. In the back of his mind, on that day about two years before, he had wanted to make a marionette, but he hadn't the skill to do so. As he had read the book, he looked around his room. He had gotten better at carving, why couldn't he try his hand at making a puppet. He grabbed one of his not as good carved figures and started to work on it.

It took him a few (many) tries to figure out how to properly build a puppet. Finally though, he succeeded in making one. It was a little unimpressive, but it worked! He spent much time playing with his new toy when other children his age were playing sports or pretending to be ninja. He would join into the latter once in awhile, and say that he was a master puppeteer, but the other children didn't seem the same importance of what a puppet could do, so he was usually told to leave.

When he would told his sister about the kids (when she visited their family), she told him that was nonsense. She said that she had read about some of the most dangerous ninjas being puppet users. This cheered him up quite a bit, and he would go home most days to work on other little puppets to hone his craft.

Tragedy struck one day when his sister was out on a mission. The rest of her team returned, but they said that she had be lost along the way during an ambush by the NCIA. They didn't know what had happened in the confusion, but it was suspected (with the kinds of jutsus that the enemy was using) that she was killed and her body destroyed. No evidence was ever found, but it was assumed that she was killed.

This devastated Kuzuri. For weeks he did nothing but stay in his room (more so than before) and work on his puppets. If he ever did go out, it was barefoot and he would bring armfuls of his little creations. He would go into the forest and just hide there for hours, playing by himself. This slowly ended, but he was really never the same.

Finally, when he was 9, he joined the new academy after the fall of the NCIA. He went in to make his late sister proud that he was going away from their father's business. His father had been proud when he had seen Kuzuri working with woodcarving, but he didn't think that puppets were a good use of time. They would argue about it, but Kuzuri never backed down. Finally Kuzuri told him he wanted to be a ninja, and they had never really been close after that.

His mother supported him, however, and for the next few years, he learned the ropes of using jutsu and becoming a ninja. He wanted to be the most famous puppet-user to come out of Konoha, and he wasn't going to be persuaded otherwise.

While in academy, he was understood many of the concepts, but the only two which eluded him were; genjutsu and women. He for some reason unable to control or even conjure proper genjutsu. This didn't worry him. It was a skill that he didn't want to use anyways. He also found that women intrigued him quite a bit. He didn't have what you would call 'tact' with them, but he found that he would try to hit on them quite a bit, a base reaction that he didn't quite understand, but didn't seem to try to fight hard against.

~Techniques~

Jutsu Points:

Total: 22

Used: 8

Available: 14

Academy Jutsu:

Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Substitute Technique)

Type: Ninjutsu

Rank: Academy Student

Cost: 10

Damage: None

Effects: Evade the next attack aimed at you. Skip your main and setup phase this turn. You can only use this 1 time per battle. This technique cannot be used to dodge Ninjutsu, Taijutsu or Genjutsu Techniques.

Description: A lifesaver, and a must-have technique. With this technique, the user is able to swap their body with a nearby object, usually a log, which will take the full force of any incoming blows for them, while they retreat to safe ground or search for an opening.

Ninjutsu:

Puppet Technique I (Kugustu no Jutsu)

Type: Ninjutsu

Rank: Gennin

Cost: 5% Total chakra

Damage: n/a

Effects:

- Allows the user to use a puppet. Puppets cannot be used without this technique.

- Can only control a puppet with up to 250 durability and/or 30 part slots.

- May be activated in the setup phase, counts as drawing your puppet.

- Must be activated multiple times for multiple puppets.

- Chakra is always spent in the cost of this technique, regardless if your puppet is a ‘power puppet' or a 'control puppet'.

Description: This jutsu uses strings of chakra from the user's fingers to control puppets like marionettes. Another useful quality of this skill is the fact that the puppet can take the form of another person, usually its user, allowing the user to trick their enemy into thinking they're fighting a living person. Any number of chakra strings can be used to control a puppet, but users with more skill using the technique can use fewer strings per puppet. Though the downside to this is that it takes a long time to learn and even longer to practice, so it is rare to find a ninja who can use puppets that does not concentrate on puppet fighting.

You shouldn't have Puppet Technique yet, as far as I know there's no way to pay back JP for techniques once you level up. I don't know if you're just saying that you can't use the technique until you pay back the next 4 JP, but it's less confusing if you just leave it off of your sheet until you level up once. :P Other than that, like skittz said it looks good numbers-wise. I'll look at it more when I'm out of class later.

Posted
*Payback: A technique with payback can be bought when you do not have enough JP for it, and as you earn the jutsu points from leveling, you do not receive them until they technique has been paid off. You cannot use payback if you have available JP to spend. If you have JP, but not enough for the technique, you use all available ones and then payback when goes over. This can only be put on staff created techniques.

This is what it said on the Equipment Rules page. I think it pretty much means I get the jutsu, but instead of gaining JP whenever I level, I just reduce how much I have to pay back until it's paid off.

Posted

Derp. I had no idea about that rule. Serves me right for not looking. It's fine statistically then, I just need to study a bit before tonight. I'll look at the history later.

His year of birth currently says 2112, which would make him 3 years old. I think you meant 2102.

Some important events that you're leaving out of the history is the Kumogakure Empire occupation of Konohagakure, the original failure of Konohagakure to free itself, and the eventual freedom from the Empire. Perhaps you could tie his sister's death into those events.

So...he can't be 3 years old?

Anyways...gah I was dreading that. I'm not good at talking about the empire...lemme see what I can do

EDIT:

Changed his birth year...even though it would've been awesome to have a baby ninja.

Also, added some stuff about the empire. BUUUT to be honest, there wouldn't have been much effecting HIM. If this was his sister's profile, there would be more, but his sister more or less operated as a secret ninja, visiting her family once in awhile. Idk, I may trim it up a bit. Honestly, his life (again beyond his sister disappearing) wasn't effected by the empire really. (By the time he seriously started to want to be a ninja, the Empire was falling, so yeah..)

I get what you're saying, but it was a big enough even to warrant mentioning with anyone. To say that it would affect a person is a little crazy, it's a serious thing.

Either way, I like your revisions, looks great now. :D (It is too bad baby ninja would probably not work.)

Approved.
