~Appearance~

-Height: 5'2"

-Hair Style: Short cropped black hair. Has a slight curl.
-Eye Color: Dark Violet, almost black.
-Clothing: Black cloth pants, a black sleeved shirt, and combat boots as well as black robes with a bluish-purple flame symbol emblazone on the back. The robes have long open sleeves, allowing for the concealment of a variety of items. There is also a hood attached to the back of the robes, allowing for concealment of the head and face. The bottom of the robe reaches Kurai's ankles.
-Physical Description: Kurai has a lean and lithe body, with a moderately muscular build. While he doesn't perform extensive physical training, his rough life in Konoha taught him that he needed to remain fast and strong. His days running in the street also granted him with lightly tanned skin, an after effect of the harsh sun of the Fire country. While he doesn't have any major visible scar tissue, his arms, hands, and legs are covered with tiny indiscernable scars, evidence of his numerous escapades.

~Persona~

Personality: Calm, determined, likes to assess the situation before entering. Not afraid to flaunt his power, but knows when someone is stronger than he is. When not focused, he has a tendency to be absent-minded or lazy.

He has always been fascinated by flames and sharp objects, and as soon as he entered the Academy, developed a strong affinity for Fire Ninjutsu. The only thing he didn't like about fire was the horrendoulsy ordinary color it always manifested in. So, he has a habit of carrying around a type of color powder that changes any Fire justu he uses to emit a purple hue. However, Ninjutsu is not Kurai's only strength. He also has a brilliant mind, and brings a high degree of cunning and astuteness to any encounter. Despite not having any parental figures, he learned to read at an early age by watching scholars from the shadows and pilfering scrolls. His fascination with words and thoughts led him to study whatever he could, whenever he could.

Through this combination of wisdom, knowledge, strength, and surprise, he has formed his own unique, and effective method of initiating and carrying out battles. After carefully assessing a situation, Kurai leads with powerful and frightening Ninjutsu, falling back to his Sanjegun, a tricky and unnerving weapon.

Kurai fears very little. His power and cunning have gotten him through almost every situation, and he has backed down from those he knew he could not win. However, he knows that a day will come when there is something important to him, and something else in his way. He knows that on that day there will be nothing he can do. This paranoia scares him, and drives him to become as powerful as he can, so that he will never be powereless.

Likes: Music, good food, unique and interesting weapons.

Dislikes: Lack of originality, frogs, harsh noises, and the color yellow.

History:
Kurai was child abandoned by his parents. Whether this was because they feared him or hated him has never been answered. As a child, he grew up on the streets of Konoha village, scrounging for what he could and relying on the kindness, or carelessness of others. Even though he knew that orphans could and would be cared for by orphanages, he chose to remain outside the comfort of those walls. He wanted to be free, and he was, scraping together what he could, knowing that he wasn't relying on anyone but himself.

 

When the NCIA came to Konoha, Kurai ran. At several points, he was almost captured by the organization, but through wit and will, managed to escape each time. While he appreciated his freedom, he still held a quiet respect for the ninja in the NCIA, and their abilities. When the NCIA was defeated, he silently mourned their downfall, knowing that despite their dark deeds, a source of great power had been extinguished from the world.

Kurai did not have any friends in his childhood, except for a boy named Kasai Oogakari. He and Kasai were always at odds with one another. While both were struggling to survive and become stronger, Kurai was always using his mind, while Kasai prefered to use his fists. While Kurai was reading a book, Kasai was getting into trouble and Kurai would always come to his aid. The two became steadfast friends, rivals even, and would share many an adventure together.

A bunshin is considered to have 0 evasion and rolls to dodge whenever it is targeted in the user's response phase. The value of x is the number of clones you have made. Maximum of 8 bunshin can be made.

Couple notes, which you are free to consider or ignore at your leisure: 

  • Age: Heads up that overall time has a tendency to pass rather slowly on the site. "Time Skips" are few and far in between, and it's not unusual for months IRL to equate to only a few days in-character. As such, you might be stuck as a 12 year old for a considerable amount of time. I [personally] tend to skew my characters ages to be slightly older as a result, however there are plenty of 12-13 year old characters on the site as well. This is completely at your discretion. 
  • Skills: Like jutsu, it's probably a best practice if you quote the entire skill on your sheet, and not just the name. If the skill has ranks, it's also important that you distinguish how many ranks you've purchased, e.g.
