wolfnin Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 (edited) Singeing Nettles Combining the utility of her tendrils and manipulating the fire charka within, has led to a unique 'poison' which rest within her tendrils. Developed by Ueshi "Tsuka" Mairah, this style utilizes tendrils to quick and precise strikes at the target repeatedly. While they may not be powerful strikes, each one places a small amount of 'poison' produced from the tendril which burns the skin. This is repeated with each strike, dealing more injury to the target with every hit. Effect: This skill allows for the gaining and spending of 'Nettle' Charges and access to techniques which require 'Nettle' Charges. Whenever the user successfully hits with a Weapon Attack, [Style-less], or [Singeing Nettles] technique, they gain one 'Nettle' Charge. If the target spends one turn not under the status effect 'Scorched', the user loses a 'Nettle Charge'. 'Nettle' Charges may be used in the following ways: For each 'Nettle' charge that the user holds, increase the total damage done to a target currently afflicted by 'Scorched' by +5X%, where X is equal to the number of charges held. The user may spend x charges as a free action during their main phased to have a [Singeing Nettle] technique inflict an additional 100x 'Poison' damage for a single turn. Requirements: Patchwork Physiology. Subtle Elements; Fire. Cost: -2sp. Edited March 26, 2019 by wolfnin Quote
Hardcore Skittlez Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Should apply to the Singeing Nettle taijutsu rather than just Tendril Hijutsu, since the Tendril techniques aren't inherently a taijutsu style. Quote

This passive bonus is not as strong as most as it requires the opponent to be 'Burned', but my instinct says you should still need some way to lose charges with it. Quote
wolfnin Posted April 28, 2017 Author Posted April 28, 2017 Changed wording, switched to scorched, and added in a way to lose charges. Quote

Princess Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 Here I come with my red line! Quote This skill allows for the gaining and spending of 'Nettle' Charges and access to techniques which require 'Nettle' Charges. Requirements: Patchwork Physiology. Subtle Elements; Fire. So, if you've seen me hit taijutsu styles so far, you'll know Tony has inspired me to hunt for read lines, ways in which a taijutsu style can be used with 0 taijutsu. This has a few. For the dark red, please specify taijutsu, I know it really is kind of implied, but you close loophole shenanigans by specifying taijutsu here, as that means under no circumstances can a technique with no taijutsu be used to gain or spend charges in these particular ways. That's the goal. Light red, we have a few problems here. It's an either-or scenario here. You can either gain charges off weapon strikes OR you can spend charges on non-taijutsu elements. Here, you can buy a weapon with chakra blade and inlaid element, BAM you're gaining charges while having 0 taijutsu from those weapon strikes. Then, your passive applies to all damage, so that just is not gonna happen while you can earn charges without taijutsu. As is you slap a nin oriented weapon with scorched as its affliction, build some abilities that modify basic weapon attacks to make them stronger, have 0 taijutsu, swing each turn for +20% damage +scorch. So one of those two light red elements needs to change to specify taijutsu in some way. Finally, the blue....What is the target? How does this work vs multiple opponents? This style doesn't target an enemy? There is no inbuilt mechanic to determine who or what the target is. This might need some pretty intensive rewording to make clear what the intention is. Either this is saying 'when you gain a charge in this style nominate an opponent, if during your main phase that opponent is not affected with 'Scorched' lose 1 charge'. Or is it pinging off if any opponent doesn't have scorched? Quote
