No one in the Yotsuki Clan will ever betray our comrades!” Country of Origin: Country of Lightning | Rai no Kuni | 雷の国 Village of Residence: Kumogakure no Sato | The Village Hidden in the Clouds | 雲隠れの里 Clan Founder: Yotsuki Mitsuhide; A wise and bitter old Shinobi general, Mitsuhide gathered his family and in an effort to escape the constant strife of the Warring States Period explored the highest reaches of the mountains. He founded a small settlement that would eventually become the site of Kumogakure no Sato. Clan Head: Tokieza Jishin; The Clan recognizes the current Raikage as the Clan Head, regardless of their heritage. In effect, the clan is governed by its Council of Elders. Clan Status: Famous; The Yotsuki’s long history and role in the formation of Kumogakure have made them one of the noblest clans of Rai no Kuni. Their control of the weather and clouds is legendary, matched only by their absolute loyalty to the village and their comrades. Outside of Rai no Kuni their fame diminishes significantly, but knowledgeable Shinobi are well aware of their skills and role inside Kumogakure. Clan Age: Old; As one of the founding clans of Kumogakure, the Yotsuki Clan is one of the most storied and experienced shinobi clans in Rai no Kuni. They have existed since before the Era of Hidden Villages and remain as effective now as they were centuries ago. Clan Element: Cloud Release | Unton | 雲遁 Clan Bloodline: None; While the Yotsuki often display a high level of skill manipulating the clouds, water and wind they have no hereditary genetic trait that grants or enhances their abilities. Yotsuki Mitsuhide was an extremely competent general, amassing a small army out of those who followed him into exile and those whom he subjugated whilst carving out his territory near the mountains of Rai no Kuni. After tiring of endless war and conflict, he took the shattered remnants of his army and founded the Yotsuki Clan atop the highest mountains of Rai no Kuni. Afterwards, he was instrumental in the foundation of Kumogakure, but perished shortly afterwards. Yotsuki Aya Status: Deceased Alias: Frozen Sky Dates Active: First, Second and Third Shinobi World Wars Rank: Sennin Specialty: Cloud and Ice Ninjutsu The only member of the Yotsuki Clan to be in contention for the title of Raikage, a seat they have historically shied away from. Yotsuki Aya was a pioneer of the clan’s power, and served on the Elder Council for over forty years. As one of Kumogakure’s strongest ninja during the Second Shinobi War, Aya advocated a policy of non-aggression that would go on to preserve the village’s strength. Yotsuki Ranmaru Status: Deceased Alias: Greyfist Dates Active: Kumogakure Empire Rank: Chuunin Specialty: Snow/Cloud and Ice/Cloud Nin-Taijutsu, Elemental Genjutsu Once considered the next great Sennin of Kumogakure, Ranmaru’s deployment to Iwagakure during the NCIa occupation ended in his untimely death. Many older members of the Yotsuki Clan frequently reminisce about the young Chuunin, whose work displaying and proving some Yotsuki’s secondary affinity for Snow and Ice ninjutsu was heralded as a perfect example of applied chakra research. Yotsuki Motonari Status: Active Alias: N/A Dates Active: Kumogakure Empire-present Rank: Custodian Specialty: Non-shinobi Current head of the Yotsuki Council, Motonari is the de-facto clan head when the Raikage has no other requests or duties for the clan. This character's first and second Elemental Specialties must be either Water or Wind. Description: Born and raised in the peaks of the mountains, the Yotsuki Clan have studied the winds and clouds for centuries. Cloud techniques that would normally take a ninja months to learn, a Yotsuki can learn in days. Restrictions: Yotsuki Clan Cost: -1SP Combat Forecaster Effect: Cloud techniques have +4% to hit and -5% chakra cost per rank. Description: The character's sense of atmospheric forces allows them to use existing air currents and moisture to fuel their techniques, conserving their chakra. Knowledge of air currents also allows them to more accurately predict the results of their attacks, making them more precise in battle. Restrictions: Yotsuki Clan. Ranks in this skill can be taken once per 10 levels. Ranks: 5 Cost: -2SP Atmospheric Affinity Effect: All Cloud techniques cost 1JP less. At least 1 JP must be paid. This may stack with similar effects, to a maximum of 2JP reduction. Description: The Yotsuki Clan's ancestral techniques are often introduced to their ninja from a young age, teaching them to learn multiple Cloud techniques simultaneously with ease. Restrictions: Yotsuki Clan Cost: -2SP Diplomatic Heritage Effect: This character may always take Path of the Wise, regardless of their Basic Path. Description: As the clan to bring Kumogakure together, the Yotsuki clan has always been regarded as a group of mediators and peacekeepers inside the walls of the village. Their preference for positions like judges, administrators, scholars and teachers ensures that they often have the last word in times of conflict. Restrictions: Yotsuki Clan Cost: -1SP Peak-Dwellers Effect: This character gains the skills 'Mountaineer', 'Hydrologist' and 'Survivalist' for free. Training requirements for these skills are halved; this does not stack with any other form of training reduction. Description: The Yotsuki Clan has lived atop the mountain ranges of Rai no Kuni for generations. The precision of their steps would put a mountain goat to shame, while the bitterest of strong winds barely slows them down. Even when shrouded in opaque fog and cloud, the Yotsuki Clan thrive. Restrictions: Chuunin, Yotsuki Clan Cost: -2SP Clan Mastery Skills: Cloud Mastery: Cirrus Effect: This character gains 'Combinatorial; Ice' for free. When using a Cloud technique, this character may choose to increase the base cost of that technique by 10%; if they do, that technique is also an 'Ice' technique. Description: Some experienced Yotsuki Shinobi find that their techniques tend more towards hard, icy clouds that swarm the foe and cut like a storm of tiny blades. These ninja often find they have a secondary, lesser affinity for ice techniques. Restrictions: Level 45, Yotsuki Clan, may not be taken with 'Cloud Mastery: Stratus' or 'Cloud Mastery: Cumulus'. Cost: -2SP Cloud Mastery: Stratus Effect: This character gains 'Combinatorial; Snow' for free. When using a Cloud technique, this character may choose to increase the base cost of that technique by 10%; if they do, that technique is also a 'Snow' technique. Description: Some experienced Yotsuki Shinobi find that their techniques tend more towards soft, dense clouds that wear down the foe and saps their will to keep fighting. These ninja often find they have a secondary, lesser affinity for snow techniques. Restrictions: Level 45, Yotsuki Clan, may not be taken with 'Cloud Mastery: Cirrus' or 'Cloud Mastery: Cumulus'. Cost: -2SP Cloud Mastery: Cumulus Effect: The effect of 'Combinatorial; Cloud' is increased by 50% for this character. When using a Cloud technique, this character may choose to increase the base cost of that technique by 10%; if they do, they may add a second Subtle Element. You may not choose the same Subtle Element twice. Description: Some experienced Yotsuki Shinobi find that their techniques tend towards light and airy clouds. These ninja often find themselves boosted to even greater feats of speed whilst their techniques become more well-rounded and versatile. Once all three positions have been filled, no new Yotsuki characters will be allowed. -Yotsuki Characters are not allowed to posses the following skills: Sealed Ninjutsu, Poor Chakra Manipulation. -Any Yotsuki Clan Members working as Shinobi outside Kumogakure no Sato will be considered missing ninja and dealt with accordingly. -Yotsuki Clan Skills and Techniques may be taught to Kumogakure ninja with the permission of the Clan Curator (Peregine).
