Pwnzie Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 (edited) Original Chunin Rank Technique Jinsoku Hanketsuken | Swift Judgement Blade | 急判決剣Type: Taijutsu | Hohō | Hijutsu; Hayashi Tetsuo | Response | Medium One Handed Longsword Rank: JoninCost: 230 StaminaDamage: 380Effect: Used in the Response Phase. The total damage of an unresolved attack is reduced by an amount equal to the total damage of this attack. If the damage of the unresolved attack would be reduced to 0, then all effects are negated and any remaining damage and effects from this technique target the user of the negated attack during their next Response Phase. The user loses their next two (2) Main Phases and may not use a technique in their next Response Phase. This technique has a 10% chance to fail and may be used two (2) times per battle. Description: Hayashi Tetsuo’s ultimate defense, the Judgement Blade technique utilizes his black blade and its fell powers to slice through anything that might harm him. A strong enough slash of the blade will bring the user straight through the enemy’s attack and drive the blade home into their exposed flesh. The strength of this technique makes it very valuable, allowing the user to immediately counter attack the opponent before they have a chance to mount a second attack, but it takes a great toll on the user’s body, causing them to require a few seconds of rest after the attack is used, leaving them open. It is best utilized as a last ditch attempt to escape an attack and kill the enemy.Points: 8 Hanketsuken tayasu fukuzai | Dual Judgement Blades; Eradicating the Guilty | 判決剣絶やすType: Taijutsu | Hohō | Hijutsu; Hayashi Tetsuo | Response | Medium One Handed Longsword Rank: SenninCost: 500 StaminaDamage: 900Effect: Used in the Response Phase. Peregine Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 These both look good, but can we clarify the remaining damage? It says the user of the unresolved attack gets a dodge roll, but not how that roll is modified.
Pwnzie Posted July 19, 2017 Author Posted July 19, 2017 so basically the damage of the technique is modified as it would be normally if i was attacking with it, but instead of being dealt to the enemy the damage you would deal is used in a shield type fashion against an incoming technique (Think like a clash type effect, so if a 600 damage attack is coming at Tetsuo and he does this technique and has a total damage of 740 the attack is negated.)
Peregine Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 I get that, but when the remaining 140 Damage goes back to the original attacker how is that roll done? Unmodified 60% to hit? Uses normal acc/eva modifiers? Is a Dynamic Trap or pseudo-aoe situation?
cntrstrk14 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 This is basically the Clash skill right? Why do you get Clash for no SP?
Pwnzie Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 Added in the link to the chunin version that has been approved for some time now. The technique above has more drawbacks than clash, I cant take action for 2 turns of main phases.
cntrstrk14 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Okay, I might have missed the two loss phase thing before, which changes this quite a bit from Clash. However, I also think that this should have a 1 turn cooldown on Response Phase techniques for one turn in addition to lose two main attacks. Otherwise you could simply string together effects like this ad nauseum and not care about the Main Phase loses. So with that in mind and leveraging the new wording we used in Clash I would update this to say... Used in the Response Phase. We dropped a lot of the weapon stuff because Weapon Jutsu rules should cover all of that. I'm not sure if this was made before Weapon Jutsu were a thing, but I believe normal Weapon Jutsu rules will do what you were trying to. Also pricing looks good. Just flat damage +40/50 CP for Weapon Jutsu.
cntrstrk14 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 As a note to future reviewers, the maximum JP cost is intended on a jutsu of this "Clashing" type. Approved
