PandaMattMatt Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 The wording on this is a bit off and you are over the damage cap. Fire Style: Hiwotsukeru no Jutsu [Ignite] Type: Genjutsu [Elemental; Fire] Rank: Genin Cost: 48 Chakra Damage: 20 Ghost Damage for 3 turns Effect: Target is inflicted with "Burning; 20" for 3 turns. Burning Damage from this technique is dealt to Ghost Health. Description: After completing a single hand sign, the user creates a genjutsu within the target opponent where they believe they have been set on fire. JP: 3 In the above example, its MUCH more clear what you're trying to do. However, it is still over the damage cap. The amount of damage you tech deals outright is added to the amount of Damage over Time you are inflicting. So what we're seeing is 60 damage (From your regular ghost damage) + 60 burning damage = 120 Damage total. If you cut everything in half, it will work. So 10 Ghost Damage over 3 turns and 3 turns of Burning; 10. Of course, if your intention was to deal ONLY Ghost Burning Damage it would look like this. Fire Style: Hiwotsukeru no Jutsu [Ignite] Type: Genjutsu [Elemental; Fire] Rank: Genin Cost: 48 Chakra Damage: N/A Effect: Target is inflicted with "Burning; 20" for 3 turns. Burning Damage from this technique is dealt to Ghost Health. Description: After completing a single hand sign, the user creates a genjutsu within the target opponent where they believe they have been set on fire. JP: 3 This is almost the same, but takes out the damage portion. Since Burning is a status effect, it goes in the Effect line only and does not cross into other places. So... let me know what your intention is, cause right now it isn't too clear.
Tw33dle Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 I totally understand that. Made the edits you suggested since my goal was just to do 20 burning damage over three turns.
