Painter’s Stroke| 画家のストローク | Gaka no sutorōku

Description: Countless hours have passed and members of the Gohaku have created three beautiful masterpieces whereas most Sumijutsu artists can only create one or two at most. 

Effect: Whenever this character inscribes an ink technique onto a scroll, they may inscribe one additional 'Ink' technique of Gennin or Academy rank onto a second scroll for free. This may stack with ‘Duo Calligraphy,’ and only with that skill. The first technique must be a Chuunin rank-technique or higher. 

Requirment: Gohaku Organization Membership. Chuunin.

Cost: -2 SP 

 

Neat Portfolio |きちんとしたポートフォリオ  | Kichinto shita pōtoforio

Description: As you’d imagine, most artists are neat with their work, and are therefore able to store more inside small spaces.  

Effect: Scrolls owned by this character are considered .5x their base size, item slot-wise.

False Copy | 偽コピー | Nise kopī

Description: It only takes a moment for a Sumijutsu artist in this organization to witness a technique and then copy it onto scrolls

Effect: This character may create 'Ink' variations of techniques they have seen in battle. All costs are the same, and the damage dealt is the same. The element of this technique is considered to be 'Ink.' The user of this skill must pay the JP needed to learn the original technique as the cost of JP needed to learn the technique. This character may not, however, copy techniques based around bloodlines or techniques that require special training. This character will still be able to use this technique, even if they are no longer apart of the Organization. 

Cost: -2 SP

All of these are a mess, honestly. You really should try and figure out exactly what you're trying to do with this clan rather than cram as many powers as you can into it.

 

@Painter's Stroke: Three scrolls for the price of 1? Uhh, no. Definite no. This is better than an option exclusive to an advanced path, and stacks with it? Not happening.

 

@Neat Portfolio: This is essentially a free Main Phase action every turn as long as you have scrolls - Not happening.

 

@Practical Artistry: Scrolls are already at the peak level of power they're going to get - Paying half the price of a technique to double it's effects is not happening, and it is especially not happening with the 25% extra power from Large/Giant scrolls.

 

All of these skills are Denied.

Counter arguments/EDITS: 

 

• Character's with Painter's stroke can only apply the bonus of Painter's stroke to techniques with the Ink element, not with other elements. Made it clearer with my edits. Which means they cannot stack this ability with other elements like water rust or whatever. Which means it has a built in hindering. In addition, techniques must be Gennin or Academy techniques, which are essentially not that great. Again, another hindering.
• Completely obliterated Practical artistry. That skill was OP. I'm glad you pointed out that flaw, so I'm not even going to argue with that. In its place, we have false copy!
• Neat Portfolio: originally it was only with INK element techniques. But at this point i don't feel like arguing so I took out the second part of that skill. Now only the first part remains, which is all scrolls are considered .5x their base size. Seems like it fits the flavor of the organization. Don't know how to properly cost this though.
