almondsAndRain Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 (edited) Dog Release; Old Bull and Chain I Type: Genjutsu [ Predatory Archetype ǀ Pet ǀ Set Trap ǀ Hijutsu; Inuzuka Mimi ]. Rank: Genin. Cost: 80 Chakra. Effect: The target is afflicted with ‘Slow,’ ‘Fazed,’ and ‘Hypothermia; 2’ for one turn. Pet Combination Effect: This effect may only be used when this trap is set. The target’s Speed is reduced by 20 points for one turn. Description: A dog larger than a man is created in the distance and stalks the battlefield, waiting to be called. A long chain, thicker than a thigh, is locked to its collar and carried between its heavy jaws. When ordered, this animal closes the distance to its victim and ties its chain around them, its Chakra seeping through into the brain and interfering with their reactions. Technique Points: 6. Dog Mound Release; Eye Sore Type: Genjutsu [ Predatory Archetype ǀ Pet ǀ Hijutsu; Inuzuka Mimi ]. Rank: Genin. Cost: 80 Chakra. Damage: 30 Ghost. Effect: The user benefits from one turn of Haste and the target is inflicted with Fazed. Pet Combination Effect: The target’s Speed is reduced by 20. Description: Like members of many ninja clans, many of the Inuzuka have strange eyes. But an Inuzuka’s eyes are animalistic and predatory. Their irises are vertical slits, most common among nocturnal predators. This technique simply builds upon that fact. By channeling Chakra through their eyes, the user increases their reaction speed and implants a flash of primal fear in their target. Technique Points: 6. Dog Release; Expecatation Reversal I Type: Genjutsu [ Predatory Archetype ǀ Pet ǀ Hijutsu; Inuzuka Mimi ]. Rank: Genin. Cost: 80 Chakra. Damage: 10 Ghost. Effect: The user rolls a two-sided die. A 1 activates the “Dog” effect and a 2 activates the “Cat” effect. The target is inflicted with one turn of Clobbered. Dog: The target is inflicted with one turn of Deafened. Cat: The target is inflicted with one turn of Confused. Pet Combination Effect: The target is Fazed. Description: One would expect a Fire Release technique to create Fire, not Water. Likewise, one would expect a Dog Release technique to create dogs, not cats. And yet that is not always the case! The user performs their hand seals and releases their Chakra in the shape of a small pack of animals in a flying wedge formation charging down at their victim, as is Dog Release standard. But about half the time, the animals created are cats! And yeah, it’s weird. So what? Sometimes things are weird, but you have to face the facts: that sometimes life gives you dogs, but sometimes it gives you cats. Technique Points: 6. Edited June 27, 2020 by almondsAndRain
almondsAndRain Posted June 27, 2020 Author Posted June 27, 2020 (edited) Predatory Archetype. Old Bull and Chain Spoiler Explanation This is a resubmission of the technique of the same name that is located here. The Pet Combination effect did not specify whether it could be used when the trap was first set or when the trap was triggered, and now it does. I also updated the description and made it personal to Mimi, to fit the rest of Dog Release. There are no mechanical changes other than the Pet Combination effect fix. The Chuunin version will be resubbed when Mimi is a Chuunin and can actually use it, the only reasons I’m not doing it right in this thread is to keep to the three tech limit and because I’d like to keep my techs consolidated by rank in as few threads as possible. Eye Sore Spoiler Explanation This one breaks the naming scheme a bit, because the illusion is focused on the user’s physical characteristics rather than dogs. “Inuzuka” translates to “Dog Mound” or “Dog Hill,” which is where this came from. Also, this gives Mimi the option of knocking someone unconscious by staring at them really hard, which is hilarious. The lack of a I at the end of the name is deliberate.
