wolfnin Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 (edited) Bito | 美戸 | Beautiful Shutter Weapon Type: Tendril Size: Medium Level: 50 Attributes: Chakra Blade [50] | Free Handed [250] | Hidden [50] | Poisoned Weapon - Rank II [100] Special: Organic Weapon Born through a combination of chakra and inner tendrils, Bito is a unique weapon. The tendril weapon when allowed to rest inside the body of it's wielder can be restored by draining the wielder of some their blood, cells, and tendrils. This process while quick, is painful, as it uses the wielder's body to fix itself. Effects: If this weapon is destroyed by 'Destroy Weapon' or a similar effect, the user may choose to repair the weapon at the cost of 2x Health (x = the level of this weapon) during the user's set-up phase on the following turn this weapon was destroyed. This ability may only be activated once per battle. Cost: 250 Stinging Tendril Infused with chakra and made up of a multitude of tendrils, Bito houses the ability to amplify any poison that is applied to it. Effects: The attribute 'Poisoned Weapon' may now be applied to attacks made with this weapon. Whenever an attack made with this weapon inflicts the status effect 'Poison; x', increase the 'Poison' damage by +0.1x (x = base poison damage) for every 20 levels this weapon has. Cost: 400 Description: Bito, a unique weapon created by Ueishi Tsuka to deal with foes and take advantage of her bloodline in an efficient and semi-torturous manner. In it's original form, Bito is composed of several different tendrils and takes the shape of a one foot spear. After it was created, Tsuka placed it into herself and now the weapon lives within her as it acts as a natural part of her anatomy and mixes with the tendrils. In combat, this weapon shines, as Tsuka channels chakra through the weapon as it burst through the stitches in her body and takes the shape of any weapon that she desires. Using the tendrils in her body, this weapon is able to be launched at any range and attack from any angle that her tendrils can reach. The most notable forms that his weapon takes have been a kusarigama, tanto, or a spear. The weapon can also be held within her hand if needed, however Tsuka tends to allow it to rest around her arm while it is 'unsheathed'. Within the weapon is a toxin created by Tsuka that slowly infiltrates the target with each slash and begins to deteriorate their nervous system. The chakra infused within the weapon amplifies any toxin, poisons, or venoms that are used with the weapon. Cost: 2600 Edited February 2, 2021 by wolfnin Quote
Yurane Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 Quote Destroy Weapon One target weapon chosen by your opponent that you possess is destroyed if the attack came from a source equal to or higher than your ninja rank. Max Duration: -- Cost Points: Cost is based on jutsu rank. Gennin - 50 Chuunin - 100 Jounin - 200 Sennin - 400 Negating Destroy Weapon, which is pretty much the primary counterplay to weapons and why they get as much leeway for power as they do, at all, much less up to 3 times for ~100-150 CP is definitely asking a bit much here, Paul. I'm not going to ask you to scale it up to the equivalent of being hit by the same amount from a damage jutsu, because this would kill you, but it's definitely going to need to be toned down and costed up. Possible alternative that I think I've seen explored elsewhere is temporarily delaying the destruction of the weapon rather than preventing it, which would probably be a lot closer to acceptable. wolfnin Posted January 26, 2021 Author Posted January 26, 2021 I changed it up to only once per battle and upped the cost of health. Therefore it's approximately half the CP value to repair in battle versus the full cost. Lowered the price of the ability to bring it in line with the others. Mechanically it's repairing it mid-battle, so not necessarily preventing it. It does get destroyed and then following set up phase repairs it. But overall its been lowered and more appropriately balanced. Quote
Yurane Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 "It's getting destroyed but the next setup phase repairs it." So it's not getting destroyed, because by the time your next main phase hits you have it back. Quote
wolfnin Posted January 26, 2021 Author Posted January 26, 2021 (edited) I've changed it so the weapon repairs itself on the following turn after it being destroyed. Kept it at 2x health for regeneration with the ability to only activate once per battle. This is more along the lines of other types of abilities similar to this and keeps the flavor of the weapon. cntrstrk14 Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 Is Organic Weapon suppose to be a choice? As written it automatically regenerates which means it could knock your character out. Not sure if this is intended. For the second one... do you mean 'Poisoned Weapon' attribute or are you trying to apply Affliction in some weird way? Quote
wolfnin Posted February 2, 2021 Author Posted February 2, 2021 First Ability: It's been changed to where the user can choose. The wording was left over from a former iteration. Second Ability: I...derped hard writing this lol. It's been fixed with the proper wording. The first part is just allowing poison to be applied to attacks made with the weapon. Quote
Sol Pope Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 So with Stinging Tendril the line "The attribute 'Poisoned Weapon' may now be applied to attacks made with this weapon." has me a little confused. That's already an attribute that can be added to weapons is there a restriction I am missing that wouldn't have allowed you to use it? Before I move forward with approving it I just want to get on the same page with what you're trying for here to make sure I'm not overlooking something glaring. Quote
