Combinatorial: Paper

Effects: The user may learn and perform Paper Element Ninjutsu techniques.

Paper attacks inflict one turn of Bleeding; X, where X is equal to 10% of the total damage dealt by the attack. Additionally, the user may apply the effects of one of the Subtle Elements skills required to purchase this Element if they own it.

Requirements: Subtle Elements; Earth and Subtle Elements; Water.

Cost: -1

This is a resub. The original element can be found here. I figured I'd give it an update to try and catch up with Plant a bit. Permission to resub the element is found here.

Sure? Sure. Like Peter says, the effect is uninspired, but the math checks out and it’s on par with other Combinatorials now instead of being on par with the Subtles.

But let’s update the wording some…

Combinatorial: Paper

Paper attacks inflict one turn of Bleeding; X, where X is equal to 10% of the total damage dealt by the attack. Additionally, the user may apply the effects of one of the Subtle Elements skills required to purchase this Element if they own it.

This does change it mechanically, somewhat:

  • Much like how Styles need to specify they’re Taijutsu, Elements should specify they’re Ninjutsu. That standard isn’t held to mainsite elements, but we don’t hold mainsite Styles to it either, so that’s something to work on in the future.
  • It no longer inflicts Bleeding the turn after it hits, it inflicts it the turn it hits. Bleeding / Burning / Poison already take one turn to damage the target, no need to delay it even further.

Are you going to be resubbing the supplementary skills as well?

Good catch. Sorry for missing that. Updated the wording.

Regarding the the supplementary skills, I did not plan on resubbing those at this time.
