lameunisgood4u Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Ok this happened during 2nd period (which is 1st period... cause its block scheduling)... I was sitting at the back tables with another TA and we were both reading. After awhile the physics teacher sent the students to go start on their homework in class. Usually you can sit anywhere in the class so some people sat in the back with us. While I was reading my book there was a paper clip so I messed around with it and opened it up and tried to make it as straight as possible. I gave it to one of my friends and dared him to stick it in one of the electric sockets. We weren't stupid so he didn't do it and I told him a quick just kidding and I went back to reading. By now you can see where this is going... With me and the other ta was two others. One is my friend and he's a little stupid sometimes and the other was actually doing his homework. While I was reading I see a white flash and I hear a buzz, but it wasn't that loud and no one noticed except the people in the back desk. I quickly asked what just happened. They quickly explained that they had bent the paper clip making into a U shape and were playing around. The TA jokingly stuck it near the socket and my friend pushed his hand as a joke. The paper clip went in and their was a white flash from the socket so they quickly pulled it out. I then told them that it was stupid... they could have electrocuted themselves and started a fire. Thinking nothing more of it I went back to reading. By the way I'm reading the John Grisham books, anybody else read them? If you know me, which most of you don't when I start reading I get absorbed into the book and become completely oblivious to my surroundings. I went on reading and was unaware of what was going on around me and then the TA told one of his friends to come here. That made me remember where I was and watched what he was doing. He stuck the paper clip back in a little and nothing was happening. My friend commented that nothing would happen unless it went in deeper. The other TA told his friend to push it in as a joke. As you might have figured out he put it in, but he did it with his shoe, which is lucky for him because he probably would have been electrocuted. It was an amazing site really... the paper clip sunk in the socket and sparks began to fly out and the buzzing sound returned. Then in a small cloud of smoke it blew out. Mid-way through this I said Holy Shit and when it exploded everyone was looking. Obviously we got in trouble and were sent to the office. The genius part comes here... the guy who kicked it in managed to create a story in like 1 minute leaving no one in trouble. It's only been like a day so far, so we don't know if we're gonna be in trouble with our physics teacher (block scheduling). I just felt I had to type this out so all you guys can see how stupid some people can be... please comment Quote
