How Pointless Is Rap?

Back to topic. Why is there so much enphasis on lyrics though. Personally I like like Reggaeton and Techno. Or basically any song where you don't need lyrics, and the beat can just take over you body and move you in ways that words just can't.

Rap I wouldn't say is the worse music, but definatly not the best. All those rappers that only sing about girls, booze, parties, and sechs really need to think up somthing new. I could see okay maybe making one of those songs for a club or concert, but the entire CD on how they are more badass than the next guy is rediculus.

Rock and all its subcategories is okay, but it's also not the greatest all the time either. Even my techno and reggaeton I'll get tired of somtimes and switch it. Other than that though I think all music that can move you, emotionaly or physically, is good and deserves some sort of respect.

Thanks for also pointing out that repetition of music is rather annoying.

I doubt many people here listen to the same thing over and over for a long period of time. A change is always nice, even if it is in the smallest way.

As pointless as a playground ball. With all those rounded men and curved women in their videos there are no points to be found.

As for punk, now there is music with a lot of points. Pointy hair, pointy clothing, pointy guitars. Points all around.

There's one type (I guess its a type?) of rap that I can't stand.. that slow, sluggish one.. with the big guys talking about stuff I can't understand cuz it sounds like there is a frog in their throat. XD

Personally the only rap i kinda like is Eminem, because he sings more about meaningful stuff than killing someone (alotho he does sometimes) or mad drugs and money, guns, and girls... all the time, and one more thing y must they ALWAYS use the "N" word... i mean comon is it really nessecary. but thats my opinion i have friends that listen to it and a lil sister that does, ima rocker so this is probably not unusual to hear wat im saying
