New page

Observance of Light
The Lux vigilae or "Observance of Light" was a dual ceremony hosted by Hyuuga Yatako after the fall of the empire and the reconstruction of Konohagkure no Sato several months after everything had ended. He specifically chose to postpone the ceremony so that the village would have enough funds to be able to hold the festival. Even though acting as a pseudo-kage, no one seemed to object how he chose to handle the situation for he was backed by the names of the nations that mattered to the people.

The festival was a three day process, by the morning, day and night of the first two days, the festival was a celebration of the Leaf's freedom. It emphasized on core cultural dishes (not skimping on the ramen), crafts and plays. The theater reigned through the streets, parades and stories were told, all gaining a sense of restored national pride and friendship- along with personal speeches made by Yatako and other famous heroes.

On the night of the thrid day, Yatako held a vigil, the ceremony of the fallen people that resulted from the war. The invitation was for anyone to mourn, boudaries of age, gender and national lines did not matter. One could even mourn the entire Kumogakure empire. Outside of the Hokage's tower was erected a grayish-blue stone called the Nagori (memory) stone, where anyone could make the nameless contribution of a loved one known. Chakra assimilated fireflies poked around the entire village, adding to surreal atmosphere. That ceremony began at dusk, where the dark paints of the night sky mixed with the sun’s hues. All who left the physical world were mourned, a process that was desperately needed for closure. Yatako led the service, bidding farewell to the spirits, commanding them to sleep in their graves and find peace eternal.

Unbeknownst to him, nearing the edge of the ceremony Yatako was approached by a preist- one whose face was known as a warrior of the Lead, helping lead the final rebellion. Noel, the harbinger of light. Rewarding the Hyuuga with the pearl necklace, Yatako was approached by several now famous faces of the nation and he was elected to be the Hokage; the shadow of the lead- leading them in the direction of the peerless future. At first he was hesitant, but the shimmer of hope that gleamed in the irises of the his people he couldn’t help to refuse. The twilight of that eve brought the next Hokage to the land twisted in leaves and fire. Hokage Hyuuga Yatako.

:*Upon the people's vote, the final countings placed this ceremony in a 92% approval rating.
