Maninas was once a Jounin of [[Amegakure no Sato]], but after the Amekage [[Sei Ryu]] had fallen from his rank, she had abandoned the village in search of her leader.  Unable to discover his locations, she had been stricken as a missing-nin and had found shelter with a traveling troupe.  In time, the troupe would come across a man named Ezra, promising a glorious new home.  The troupe developed into a cult once the yokai appeared into the world, seeking to create the perfect being.  When they moved against [[Konohagakure no Sato]], she surrendered and sought instead to stop their insanity.
