Naiyume Lilina, Student of the Centralized Ninja Academy

On a deep autumn night housed in the Otogakure hospital to escape the black night and crime of the city that would disrupt usually the greatest time in a parent's life (seeing the proof of their genetics succeeding ceasement) a mother wailed in pain as she gave her daughter the first breath of new life. Naiyume Lydea was supposed to become the matriarch of her clan when the time came, but this was her first and only biological child. It was like a divine test, to see if her skills were motherly enough to handle the weight of an entire family- but more importantly, this was her daughter. It was a chance to give light to the dark tidings around the Naiyume family. A cursed family hunted, rebuked and spat upon. It was their sin to carry, their sin of good intentions.

The Naiyume were a crippled family, but they were slowly recovering. After their near destruction hundreds of years ago, they had forced themselves to lay low to avoid extinction from their enemies, the Ageshio and exploitation, the NCIA. Due to the crime invested nature that surrounded Otogakure like a black blanket, Zaidon decreed this would be the perfect place to find asylum. They were a patient people, seals branded on them helped them age slowly and it was rumored that Zaidon's seal was eternal. When Lydea and Isamu took her home, the clan leader gave his blessings to his great-granddaughter, the newborn Lilina- their pearl in the stars. She was the hope for a new generation, a new chapter in their cursed history.

She was seven when the NCIA swiped in and took Otogakure and squashed any rebellion that would have risen up. The Naiyume clung to the shadows and avoided exposure. Luckily for them, their bloodline was relatively unknown and there could be no accidental releasing of it without a special unsealing technique. Lydea sent her to be trained, better that her child be in the winner workings of command as a shinobi than strutting the streets like a whore. And so she went to Fang and attended the CNA, gathering skills and knowledge of how to be a correct shinobi. They had all the finest equipment and teachers at the CNA and she received the best education of its time. Though, it was because of attending CNA that she developed such fine fire towards corporations. She over heard the talk of the teachers and higher ups, haughty in their self righteousness that any attempts by a "Resistance" force was just laughable to them. She knew better. She knew a cornered animal was the most dangerous kind. In her first years, she was a loner, an outcast. Barely talking in class, following rules without question; only compliance. That was, until she heard the unsettling news that the squad she trained with that had just recently graduated had been sent out and slaughtered. Then she realized her survival relied on her ability to do well in the academy. She needed to get the most out of her education. She completely flipped around and got soaring grades in leadership, even though she faked it all. She was always warned to stay away from an Ageshio, but in her years at the Academy, never did she cross paths with one.

Four years later, the NCIA crumbled and any hope of a future outside of Otogakure no Sato was squashed with it. As the Resistance swooped it, the CNA was in quick response to shuttle out the students that they could. The proctors defended the children with their lives. Though the Resistance seemed to stray away from targeting the weaklings, no one could stand in front of the cross fire. Many of the squads around her died and lightning flashed above the sky. But by the time General Rakurai stepped up to the plate, their squad had already fled the capital. Ironically a man named Ryuichi would make a scene in front of some Gennin, personally rescuing them. Later she would be educated that the monarch of lightning was the same man who cursed their family with their bloodline. The one that started all of their nightmares.

When she returned to Otogakure, on the fringes of destruction, she returned to her family in the shadows. General Ursieal Li commanded the front of the NCIA's last stand in Otogakure. Lilina payed no mind, only a graduate, she could do nothing to help or hurt the situation. She merely existed, dropping off the shinobi records for several years. She had more important things to deal with, like the disappearing of her mother. In her absence, Isuma had become a drunk and drug addict. He stumbled about, letting the fleeting pleasures in life take the helm. He never touched Lilina, mainly because she never gave him the chance. The only reason she didn't kill him and wipe his pathetic existence off the face of the earth was because that would involve interaction. She took her belongings and left, traveling to live with her aunt Danile and the rest of her family.

They wanted so much from her, she was supposed to be the glimmering hope for their family if her mother failed. Frankly, she wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. She told them to take their future and find someone else. Though upset, Danile had to pass the heirlooms Lydea left for her child behind. Along with a sentimental note drawing up regrets for leaving her little girl, she enclosed two things. The first was a stiletto, a relic passed down in the family with the simple instruction of "live". The second was a scroll denoting instructions on how to craft 'Celestrium', a manipulation of chakra that interference with the passing of time momentarily. It would compensate her, until her bloodline was allowed to be unsealed. With these keys, Lilina would begin her grueling struggle for survival.

In the five years after the fall of the Kumogakure Empire, Denchi no Kuni was a wasteland of dried crops and crime. Thievery skyrocketed and so the Naiyume teenager made her living by preying off of novice thieves. The fight for food and water drove man people to their darkest places and Naiyume Lilina fed off that. She'd hide in dark, high places and when her prey came into view she'd drop down and strike, which bestowed her with any attribution to the bat kind. She used her skills from the CNA to live off of whatever she could. Her family could only procure so many resources before they ran thin. Just before the heavy riots started, seeking for Brash's head- she gained official Otogakure shinobi status. The timing on her part was terrible, but now there was potential for good pay. If they would take care of her, she would surrender all.
