Okaryuu Toruka

Okaryuu Toruka is a high ranking shinobi in Konohagakure no Sato. He is the personal guard of the Hokage Hyuuga Yatako and personal babysitter to his daughter Zelfie. Although this hardly gives him additional time, it has been noted that he has instructed a few students in the Hokage's stead. He is often seen wearing obsidian armor and carrying a rather huge looking sword and a variety of other weapons. It's rumored that he can also craft weapons using ninjutsu. In Konoha, it's well known that Toruka is a master of the Celestial Gates.

Personality

Toruka is a hardass and very quick to anger. He can make for either a horrible teacher, or one students would never forget. His training regiments mimic his personality in that, hell is kinder than its wrath. Insults are common to spring from his tongue as well as other demeaning phrases and situations, which are all meant to toughen a student up. He's not hard for a laugh and hates awkward situations. Toruka is one of the most loyal people, to the right reason. He places loyalty to people, not places. Although it may not seem like it, he has a caring heart, again, to the right people.

Biography

Okaryuu Toruka grew up an orphan in the city of Hotarunoshi, feeding off its wave of underground crime. He made his living by stealing and fighting for his food, so even at a young age he was dexterous with weapons. He learned everything about fighting on his own and from observing others, only gathering art form skills in martial arts when the right person came his way. Fighting pits were demanding, harsh and rewarding ways for survival, and that pretty much served as the norm for him until the NCIA arrived.

After they cracked down on crime, Toruka fled to Konoha where he joined ROOT. After a few years, he met a man named Yamanaka Jino and together they formed an organization named Shinga that would serve as Hi no Kuni's misfits that didn't want to be a part of a village, nor a piece of the NCIA. They simply wanted to live on their own terms, which happened to be at the expense of others. The group snowballed from the crevices of every shady corner of Hi no Kuni, until they decided to make their first big heist after the fall of the NCIA. They seized the Temple of Fire and stole the mayor of Tanzaku's daughter in exchange for ransom. Toruka posed as a monk to keep the girl quiet, but soon the would be Chuunin sent to rescue to monks discovered the truth. After their defeat, Toruka followed the crew back to finish them off in a desperate attempt to help his organization. Yatako offered Toruka his own katana to slay him, of which he used to sink the sword into the Hyuuga. Yatako requested his services in helping the village and after Yatako offered a place for Shingai who wanted an honest home, he agreed.

Years passed as Yatako, Toruka and Kasumi grew together. They became strong activist in rebuilding the ruins left by the NCIA, in architecture and in people. Toruka would study and learn the Eight Gates as well as smithy. He would take a few girlfriends in the time, but never anything serious. Through thick and thin, he followed Yatako and assisted in rescuing his future wife, Silvana who was taken by Jino and the corrupted Shingai.
