Hyūga Mizumono (日向水物, Mizumono Hyūga) is a Genin of Konohagakure no Sato. She once suffered from extreme Dissassociative Identity Disorder and was subject to a highly experimental treatment that resulted in the reduction of her physical age and consequently the removal of her memory. Before her treatment, she was a potent Jōnin of Konohagakure, a member of the ANBU, and War Hero. In her prime, Mizumono was both incredibly powerful and incredibly volatile; if she was caught during a psychotic episode, it was very likely that anyone nearby would perish. She is most well known for single-handedly pushing the remaining NCIA forces out of Konohagakure(while Hyuuga Yatako liberated the Country of Fire as a whole) and for her deadly participation in the battle at Kinomi no Toshi.

Background

Chapter I; The Best Laid Plans

Rinnegan. Tenseigan. These were legends, ideals, impossibilities within the mortal realm, and yet, it was seen that time and again such surfaced to those of impeccable heritage and proper circumstance. These unobtainable, noble, eyes were the motivation that drove a sect of the Hyūga clan to launch an expansive breeding plan to perfect their already immaculate line. This plan, carefully executed and protected as a secret among secrets, resulted in the eventual birth of Hyūga Mizumono. Her birth did not signify the greatest of glories returning to the Hyūga-- no, it in fact was a harbinger for failure. She was to be the ultimate culmination of their work and meticulous social engineering, but was instead a simple, if not inquisitive, child. The hope that had resided in her genes, however, was not abandoned by all; her father, seeking to continue the project and strive for perfection that seemed attainable only by the legends of old, sought to salvage her lineage that she might mother the child that would shine naught but light upon the already illustrious clan. For this, he required the girl's survival; she was taught the basics of Shinobi Combat and, when the time came, was held back from proper graduation for more personalized training. She was restricted to the clan estate and privately trained, allowed to grow stronger but not to participate in any activity that would require the proof of her skills. It was during these times of dull peace that the first of her 'symptoms' of her heritage began to show- she manifested various other, erratic, personalities and interacted with them as though she were playing with ghosts about the estate. In an attempt to salvage her mind long enough to carry on her line, the girl's father engaged in a great taboo and struck a deal with a dying boy. Uchiha Kaosu was to be sealed within Mizumono's mind as a ward against the slow deterioration of her mind in exchange for the ability to seek revenge against the cousin who had been his undoing. Unknown to her father, this singular action would bring Mizumono to the precipice of death time and time again when Kaosu proved that his loyalties lie entirely with himself and not with the terms of their original agreement.

Within the very same year, Kumogakure no Sato launched their mad blitz that conquered most of the known world. Again, in an attempt to preserve the world that had resulted in Mizumono's birth, she was handed to the N.C.I.A to join the ranks and protection of their organized and potent military force. Within the ranks of the Imperial military, Mizumono became acquainted with her first and best friends: Nenshou Toko and Darksol Anima. Though she had finally obtained friends of her own, Mizumono grew to be concerned for the well being of her family and returned to Konohagakure to investigate how it had fared in the year since her departure.

Chapter II; Sunset on Sanity

After returning to Konohagakure, Mizumono found that the village was in tatters. Despite having barely recovered from the blitzkrieg, the remaining members of Konoha's shinobi force had taken up arms against their occupants, attempting to oust them from their precious nation. Though it was a hard fought battle, the rebellion was ultimately quashed and disbanded. She heard of what had happened from the brother of Hyūga Yatako, who then instructed her to find the prodigal cousin and learn from him, that she might one day lift Konoha's banner in a renewed resistance. Though she did not consider herself much of a revolutionary, she took the call to arms and decided that if anything was worth fighting for, it was home.

Her search for Yatako brought her to the Land of Coal, where she was met by Amshiro Suzuke and his partner, Shodaan. These two boys were fresh members of a newly formed organization known as Hakumei, the spiritual successor to the once infamous mercenary organization "Akatsuki". Though Shodaan's loyalty to Hakumei was unwavering, Suzuke had been questioning their motives for some time and slowly grew to become friends with Mizumono. He had decided that their draconic methods were not those that he wished to employ and helped the young Hyūga locate Yatako, who arranged for Suzuke's death to be impersonated that he could be free of Hakumei pursuit as he left the nation. The two teens became the first students of Hyūga Yatako, the man who would one day be Hokage.

On their journey away from the Land of Coal, Mizumono chanced upon a blade that would serve to facilitate great change in her life: the legendary blade of cherry blossoms, Senbonzakura. Though she had not yet unlocked its inherent potential, Mizumono trained alongside Yatako and Suzuke until she had honed herself into a weapon worthy of holding Konohagakure no Sato's war banner. However, as she grew stronger, so too did Kaosu's influence upon her mind. He took hold of her already fragile ego and caused her to flee her friend and teacher, ultimately regaining full control of herself only when she had crossed into the Land of Water.

Within Mizu no Kuni, the fleeing Hyūga encountered a group of Konohagakure genin who mistook her for a proper member of the N.C.I.A. They did battle, but ultimately fell to her blade. Still recovering from the fracture that Kaosu had delivered to her psyche, she acted drastically and slew one of the unconscious genin as an example that would keep the others from risking their lives against her yet again. Before she could make off with her newly found prisoners, Mizumono was interrupted by their jonin and promptly defeated. She had explained only part of her situation, indicating that she was a member of the Konohagakure Resistance who had been mistaken as a Kumogakure Shinobi and was merely defending herself. The jonin cautiously took her word and allowed her to join their group for the time.

The group barely had time to bury their fallen comrade before they were ushered onto a boat and sent back toward the Land of Fire. Aboard this boat, Mizumono experienced the telepathic touch of Senbonzakura for the first time; she learned of the blade's powers, its name, and some small measure of the creature that it once had been. Though she was not able to discern whether or not it was actually the blade speaking to her, she accepted its power with no further questioning. She barely had time to practice fighting with the blade's released state before the group of shinobi were called to the ship's deck. There, Mizumono saw a face she never expected to witness again: Shodaan. He had been obviously drugged, but was resisting captivity. The jonin that had allowed her continued survival explained to her that he posed a threat to their resistance, as he was a member of the criminal organization Hakumei. In order to prove her loyalty to the resistance movement, she was told that she would be the teen's executioner. Not wanting to take his life so callously, she agreed only if she could fight him to the death, even despite his impairments. Their battle was short lived- Shodaan opted to blow himself up in a grand display of strength rather than be slain by the hands of another.

Shortly after the fateful encounter, the boat docked and allowed the group of Konohagkaure shinobi to reach their destination: a small town known as Kinomi no Toshi. They arrived to convene with a larger group of Resistance shinobi, only to be ambushed by a large NCIA Hunter-Ninja force. Though the battle was split into many potion, Mizumono utilized the newly found powers of her blade to eliminate a large quantity of the force... as well as her own team-mates. Once again, her mind crumbled beneath a schism of many interests; as she had done all of her life, she fled.

Chapter III; The Shattered Hero

Mizumono fled from battle after battle in an attempt to find a quiet place to repair herself and make sense of the myriad of voices that clamored loudly now within her mind. She had found such no such a place-- instead, her attempts to find peace had lead her to the heart of war. She appeared in Nigiyakashufu as the Rebellion was reaching its crescendo. The leaders of each individual nation had gathered together alongside their forces for a final push to defeat the Raikage and oust the Empire's fell control once and for all. Seeing this as an opportunity to redeem herself, Mizumono joined the battle.

While the leaders of each nation's resistance forces were engaged with the Raikage and his elite generals, Mizumono pitted herself against a potent woman with pumpkin-colored eyes. The woman was able to suspend Senbonzakura's petals amidst a torrent of wind and nearly defeated Mizumono, but was ultimately overturned when the girl tapped into Kaosu's sealed chakra and collapsed the woman's chakra circulatory system.

After the battle, Mizumono met up again with Yatako and subjected herself to his judgment in an attempt to atone for the great misdeeds she had done over the course of the war. Seeming to want to put it all behind the world, Yatako agreed to absolve her of her crimes if she would pledge her blade to ousting the last remnants of the NCIA from Hi no Kuni. She agreed without hesitation and set out to Konohagakure while Yatako himself took the majority of the remaining Konohagakure resistance forces to Hotarunoshi.

With Senbonzakura at her side, Mizumono pushed the remaining NCIA forces out of Konohagakure, unceremoniously ridding the nation of its last bits of Kumogakure taint. In doing so, she became decorated as a War Hero and was afforded the right to rejoin Konohagakure as a jonin and ANBU member; she accepted and attempted to return to a normal life.

Chapter IV; A Matter of Chance

Despite all of her best efforts to bring her sins to a close, Mizumono remained haunted by the many personalities that gripped her mind at any moment that she let her guard down. Slowly, over several months, her sanity waned and withered away, leaving her a twisted husk of a human. She was admitted into a hospital and cared for, though no progress was made until a fateful night in which she overpowered her orderlies and escaped the hospital. The girl, confused and caught within a haze of too many voices, lost herself in the forests that surrounded Konohagakure no Sato.

When she awoke, her thoughts were frighteningly clear-- and silent. She could not appreciate this fact, however, as she did not have any recollection of any of the events of the war or months thereafter. While wandering the forest, lost, she met an unlikely savor: Uchiha Ozaku. The boy guided her back to town and attempted to decipher who she was and where she came from. Birds of a feather, the two bonded almost immediately after spending the day together. As night began to fall, Mizumono lost consciousness yet again and unconsciously allowed Kaosu to take control of her body. For the first time, he did not immediately force her to flee or carry on his bloodthirsty vengeance. Instead, the boy-spirit explained to Ozaku what had happened to Mizumono and that he had slowly fallen in love with her over the years they spent together. After she had broken open his seal in Nigiyakashufu, his chakra was bleeding from her and he would soon be gone. He used the last of his chakra to create a narcoleptic fail-safe within the girl; any time her mind became overwhelmed by her splintered personalities, she would fall into a deep sleep. Kaosu passed on the burden of taking care of Mizumono to Ozaku and, as suddenly as he appeared, he vanished from her body.

In the years thereafter, Ozaku served as her guardian, her confidant, and eventually her lover. For a time, she was allowed a relatively normal life. Though time was a salve for some, it eventually proved to be Mizumono's undoing. Her bouts of narcolepsy increased dramatically over time, leading Ozaku to reveal her unique condition to the doctors that she had been seeing about the matter. An extensive analysis of her brain thereafter revealed that the unhinging of Kaosu's seal in addition to the condition he had instated within her had caused increasing amounts of damage to her brain. The result of which was that the flares of her alternate personas came with increasing frequency, resulting in the sleeping seal triggering more often, which in turn continued to damage her brain. Though the outlook seemed grim for Mizumono, she was approached by an enigmatic pragmatist of a doctor who offered to her a unique and experimental treatment. He claimed to have studied the ability of certain types of chakra to reverse and regenerate damaged tissue, but that it given the brain's interconnection throughout the body, he would have to implement the procedure on the entirety of her body. The result of this procedure was clear: her physical form would be reverted to whatever state it was in before Kaosu's original seal had been implemented. She would become young and rejuvenated, though she would lose the majority of the memories that she had formed between then and now. Mizumono agreed to his terms and allowed the procedure to be done.

Chapter V; A Titan Reborn

After recovering from the procedure that had reverted her age many years, Mizumono found herself curious and confused. Ozaku explained much of what he knew of her last several years and why she had agreed to undergo it. Though hesitant, she accepted his explanation and returned home with the boy. Though her new and altered state prevented their relationship from continuing as it had previously, Ozaku began to look over her as a mentor and a guardian, teaching her all that he could to help her return to the life she once had.

Though her abilities have diminished severely as a byproduct of the treatment, Mizumono has again embraced the way of the Shinobi and now seeks to hone her skills so that she may one day find those that she hurt and repent for the misdeeds of her illness.

Personality

Mizumono, in the current era, is a changed individual. Once broken, then crazed, now optimistic; this Hyūga girl is in many ways the person that she was never allowed to be in the past. She is excitable and optimistic, always preferring to look for the bright side of a bad situation and the light of decency in those she interacts with. She is friendly and mostly polite, though enjoys playfully teasing those she befriends at every given opportunity. Despite, or perhaps due to, the severity of the life that she has been made to live, Mizumono possesses an incredibly lighthearted outlook on life and tends to view almost everything as a game or a competition. Though she greatly enjoys competitive sport, she typically accepts loss in stride and savors learning from each defeat.

She is a highly selfless individual, frequently pushing herself beyond her natural means to help someone in any amount of distress. Valuing friendship above all else, she places the well being of her friends and companions well above her own- a facet of her personality that often sees her taking the blame for others' mishaps or facing injury in place of another.

Due to the extensive medical work that she has undergone in recent years, much of the instability in her personality has all but vanished. She no longer has bouts of alternative personas taking hold of her mind, nor is she incredibly susceptible to psychotic breaks caused by her own formerly splintering persona. The nature of her affliction, however, is not entirely able to be cured and consequently leaves her with still occasional flashes of memories from before her treatment and those fabricated memories of the differing personas that once inhabited her mind.

Appearance

In previous years, Mizumono preferred her hair to be cropped short with messy and uneven cuts, using her very appearance as a means to rebel against the heavy-handed manipulations of her family. Time had mended her need for rebellion and allowed her to begin wearing her hair straightened and unadorned as she grew into adulthood. With her physical form reverted and a mind now mostly mended, she has taken to a combination of the two styles that help her to reclaim a bit of who she once was. Her corvid stands are now worn tied into a high ponytail with messy bangs allowed to hang at either side of her expression, framing her the sharp features of her face. Her eyes are sharply formed, but bright with inquisitive energy; it is not uncommon to see her eyes crinkling with a wide and infectious smile. Though shimmering with continual excitement, the ashen hue of Mizumono's gaze often gives her the appearance that she is looking through or past an individual rather than at them.

Despite having her body subject to the strange flows of age manipulation, the petite kunoichi remains very much as she ever was. The creme hue of her skin is stretched taught over well toned musculature indicative of a considerable amount of physical training. She is diminutive and svelte, holding soft and subtle slopes that indicate that she has yet again to travel through the entirety of her growth into woman-hood. Her features are fine and well formed, granting her an aesthetic of budding elegance.

Civilian Attire

The civilian attire of this particular Hyūga is modest and proper. She prefers wearing a large assortment of traditionally crafted yukata when the weather permits such weather, and often even when it does not. Beneath this, she usually wears clashing sports-wear that allows her to spring free from the tight trappings of her public regalia if the situation calls such for it. She has shown a great preference to the colors of red and white as well as floral designs.

Mission Attire

The battle garb of a shinobi varies wildly from wearer to wearer as well as between regions. In the case of Mizumono, she tends to prefer traditional styles with modern ones. She typically wears a short kimono with long, wide sleeves that allow her to obscure the motions of her hands and arms with ease. She wears her shinobi vestments over top of this kimono, preferring those flak jackets and armoring that have little ornamentation and instead are selected with simply to math the coloration of her attire. She wears standard shinobi sandals of the variation that stretch up the length of her legs, stopping midway up her thighs. Given that she was previously well known as an imperial criminal and a key member of Konohagakure's resistance movement, she has taken to wearing masks when outside of the village as to prevent former enemies from exploiting her recent decrease in strength.

• Mizumono was considered an S-Rank Missing Nin by the NCIA, despite being only a Chuunin
• Mizumono is typically avoided by other veterans of the Konohagakure liberation, given her previous status as a dangerous and mentally unbalanced shinobi

• Mizumono suffers from mild Schizophrenia and Dis-associative Identity Disorder, presumed to be both the fault of invasive sealing techniques and her "breeding plan".
• Mizumono formerly had the vengeful soul of a murdered Uchiha sealed within her, whose desire for revenge was used as a counterbalance to drown out her other personas.
• The aforementioned Uchiha's seal has since worn off, leaving him primarily vacant from the girl's mind. The remainder of the chakra within the seal has been re-purposed to minimize the effects of her D.I.D.

The Meta; OOC

• Mizumono was originally based on Alia Atreides from Frank Herbert's DUNE series. Her multiple-personalities were originally meant to be genetic memory, though the notion was eventually abandoned in lieu of a more practical and less "meta-game" approach.
• The Uchiha sealed within her, Uchiha Kaosu, was a former PC of Hardcore Skittlez, and was used originally as a plot device to give Mizumono reason to pursue Kaosu's murderer, Uchiha Mizujin. Despite that, Mizumono and Mizujin have not had any in-character encounters.
• Mizumono's combat prowess was so great that her later encounters were steered away from stat battles so that she would not end the fights too quickly or decisively.
• Mizumono is the reason that the equipment stat-bonus rule was implemented, as she accumulated a great sum of money and had artificially inflated her level through item stats by nearly 30 levels.
