Appearance

Hair Color: Black, with a patch of Solid White in the middle.
Eye Color: Black
Clothing: Kaidomaru is all about looking cool. It seems to be his life mission to attain the utmost level of cool in his wardrobe. Kaidomaru even had a specially made Hatai-Ate, whose band was black instead of the traditional shinobi blue. He alternates with a pattern of dark grays and blacks, and couples it with the deep green traditional of a leaf shinobi. Nearly all of Kaidomaru’s shirts, jackets, and pants bear the emblem of the Nara Clan on them someplace, with the jacket’s emblem located on the back, the shirt emblems located on either sleeve, and a smaller Nara Clan Emblem near the hem of his pants, which are always baggy and too large for him, sagging a bit low and supported by a series of criss-crossing belts. As far ass accessories go, Kaidomaru wears a series of shinobi-style arm wraps. They do him no real good other than to look cool, and they disappear into a pair of gloves, which cut off at the fingers.
Physical Description:Alright, cut the crap. Kaidomaru is good looking. One of the fortunate few, Kaidomaru is the kind of guy who can eat for days and never gain an ounce of fat on him. That, combined with any shinobi training regiment, and any sixteen-year-old guy is going to be cut. Muscles cover his frame, from a toned set of abs to lithe, defined biceps on his upper arms. To accent this, Kaidomaru will often find excuses to go swimming, which always involves his stripping to the waist, a perfect level of comfort for the kid. Kaidomaru has a single imperfection, and it mars his left arm. Underneath his arm wraps, a scar runs from just below Kaidomaru’s elbow to about an inch above his wrist. The injury was attained from his earlier training with the more dangerous shadow arts, during a sparring match that he won after receiving the wound and nearly losing the arm.

History

ø Chapter 1: Vanity is Born ø

”He’s Gorgeous!” The voice was feminine, and was breathing heavily. A whining baby squirmed in arm, twitching and trying to move about. The mother held tight, not letting the child fall as she stroked its hair, a solid shade of black, which was expected since both parents had the hair color traditional in the Nara Clan. What WASN’T expected was the completely opposite second tone in the kid’s hair, split almost evenly across half the head. The hair was an eye popping white-silver color, and even though it was but a few hairs, the colors were distinctly differentiated. Doctors slowly filtered away from the baby, leaving only the mother and father around. They both watched the baby, who writhed and grabbed at the world in a way not quite normal for newborn babies.

”He’s so different. A complete divergence from the natural child’s appearance. Look how strong he already is, Okome. I have good vibes about this one.” the father said, patting the kid’s hair. ”I’ll call him just that…Kaidomaru.” He said with a smirk…his son would be unique. He could feel it.

ø Chapter 2: Shika-Cho Assembles! ø Kaidomaru grew up as healthy child. He was fitter than most, and was a burst of energy at every turn. A handful for first-time parents, Kaidomaru quickly took all of their attention, and easily received praise for being a strong individual. He seemed to try things too far above him, and came home with scrapes and bruises as a result. As was usual of kids his age, Kaidomaru, on his seventh birthday, a few short years before he’d enter the academy, Kaidomaru was introduced to a member of a neighboring clan, one who had a long history with the Nara Clan…

”Who is it, daddy?” Kaidomaru asked, his head darting around as they approached a large building. ”A..ki…mi..” He struggled to read the words on a sign above the door. The Akimichi weren’t very private as a clan, and invited friends to enter their clan house on a regular basis.

”Akimichi, Kaidomaru. Akimichi. Our brother clan, you’ll soon be partnered with an Akimichi, so we encourage our children of like ages to play together often, to build a relationship that will make you great partners as ninja. A friend of mine wants you to meet his child.” Kaidomaru’s father said, and the boy got very excited.

”Another ninja-kid? Alright! What’s his name? Does he use shadows like we do? Tell me, Tell me, Tell me!” Kaidomaru pleaded, but his father said nothing, merely walking into the front doors.

”Kaidomaru, meet Akimichi Kira, your new teammate.” Kaidomaru’s father said, smirking. His son, however, reacted much differently.

”You mean I have to be partners with a GIRL!? No way! That’s gross!” Kaidomaru protested, yelling out at his father. No WAY he’d work with a girl, even if it was tradition.

”Ugh..another one of THOSE types. Daddy, do I have to work with him?” The girl, Kira, responded. Her father merely nodded. ”Yes dear. He is practically our relative. Play nice while I talk with Hokaidou, okay?” He said, pushing her forward. The girl had yet to gain any of her traditional Akimichi girth, and was fairly slender for her age. ”Whatever.” she said, rolling her eyes. Thus the two met, and from it blossomed an unusual relationship…

ø Chapter 3: Give Birth to the Shadows! Kagemane! ø Kaidomaru quickly figured out that Kira was one kickass little girl, and his inhibitions towards working with her evaporated after only a few short days with her. After several spars using none of the jutsu they’d later learn from their respective clans, Kaidomaru had no choice but to accept that Kira was the better Taijutsu user, which, as a dejected Kaidomaru found out, was to be expected. The Akimichi were masters of using heavy physical attacks, and were a much more attack-oriented clan, unlike the tactical Nara Clan. It was time that Kaidomaru learn what his clan specialized in…

”Traditionally, I SHOULD wait until you enter the academy to begin the instruction of this jutsu, but I think you are ready a bit early, since you always have been an early bloomer. Our clan name is not very reflective of our…skills. I’m sure that you’ve been taught in your classes that we manipulate shadows. You learned from Kira that they manipulate their body size by converting calories to energy, so it is clear to see that each clan is different. Similarly, the way we fight is different. We do not use the Taijutsu of the Akimichi. No, we employ a much more subtle path to victory. We use the Kagemane.” Kaidomaru looked up at Hokaidou, wondering what he meant. As if to accentuate the point, Kaidomaru’s father flexed a hand, and a squirrel stopped in the middle of the ground. He lifted a hand, and the squirrel lifted an arm. He jumped, and the squirrel obeyed. It mirrored his every move. ”Your clan, your birthright, is this jutsu. To completely ensnare the enemy, to force them into any action you wish them to commit. For you, actual deployment of the jutsu is unlikely, but it is worth showing it to you. Your first task will be to simply raise a shadow, to bend it to your will. These are the waysin which you will learn to be a tactical fighter. Just remember, when your enemy cannot move, your teammates become your greatest weapons.” Hokaidou said, smirking. Kaidomaru caught on immediately.

”So you mean I hold them still, and Kira hits them where it hurts?” he said, eagerly excited to get such a devious plan into play. His father said nothing, just turned away and pointed at the squirrel. ”Practice.” he said…

So practice he did. Kaidomaru began to practice daily, for hours at a time. His father provided little guidance, causing the boy to have to invent his own solutions, which would aid the boy in becoming the tactical genius most Nara are expected to be…

ø Chapter 4: Early Bloomer Indeed! ø His father’s earlier statement, “You are an early bloomer” was no understatement. Kaidomaru began to develop earlier than most teenage boys. By the time he was eleven, Kaidomaru was showing signs of advanced muscles development, no doubt from his hours of practice in his own back yard. He had sprung up in height a bit earlier than was normal for kids his age, and so he stood at about 5’5’’ before his twelfth birthday, destined to creep up a few more inches before his growth was finished. Suffice to say, Kaidomaru was what you’d call a “Heart throb” in his academy class. He began to come into his own in his looks, and was pleased with them. His earlier disposition towards girls had long since been cast away, and as girls giggled when he passed them, and talked about him long after he’d left, he began to grow a bit arrogant, using his popularity to his advantage. He became a bit vain, making sure he looked good every day, in order to impress his girlish fanclub. Many of his personality traits would grow from this vain perception of himself, and would only increase as, with age, he grew more attractive.

His grades in the academy were a bit above average, since he had been acquainted with chakra early, but it wasn’t anything fantastic. His academy days, also, were quite interrupted, and he was never fully integrated as a genin, because, well, its almost ancient history by now…

ø Chapter 5: Kumo’s Invasion ø It was a normal Saturday. It was peaceful, quiet. Kaidomaru was playing with a squirrel, having mastered the Kagemane some time ago. Now he was focused on the accuracy involved in catching faster people and animals, like squirrels. The first strike came without warning, as a lightning bolt ripped through a building some ways away, drawing even Kaidomaru’s attention. Immediately, ninja burst into his house, guards for the Nara Clan, calling for his immediate evacuation. The boy, along with his mother, Okome, and most of the women and children in his Clan, fled to the forests his family owned, hiding amongst the trees behind chakra powered fences guarded by a few select elite Nara warriors. So they rode out the invasion, trying to find out if the ninja from Konohagakure would once again succeed in fighting off their enemies. When it seemed unlikely, the entirety of the Nara Clan were ushered into secret passages made for this exact purpose. When the invaders from Kumo found their way into the Nara Forests, there would only be a few warriors fighting them. Everyone else, would be gone.

Kaidomaru, along with most of his Clan, was separated into smaller villages, where they hid any remnants of their ninja life for several long years. Kaidomaru was forbidden to use jutsu of any kind in public, and so he had only the comfort of making the shadows in his home, which he shared only with his mother, dance and writhe. It didn’t stop him from training his physical body and his meditative skills in public, becoming stronger, faster, and, god damnit, more attractive and cut than he had been before. He thought the day nor the call would ever come for the Clan to re-unite, but it did, and he was more than eager to come to his brethren’s aid…

”It’s time, isn’t it?” Kaidomaru said. What a strange contrast the kid made. He had been a high pitched, energetic little kid who was just developing before the attack, and now…now he was fifteen, his voice deeper, his body more like an adult than a child. He sounded mature, so much more so than when Kumo first attacked. He was staring at his mother’s hands, where she was bent over a piece of paper like it was the bible.

She lifted herself from the paper, her old kunoichi fire returned in full. ”It is.” she said, revealing to him that the paper said nothing, but had the Nara Clan emblem embedded on its surface. The two grinned, and immediately started the overland trek back to Konoha.

For two days they traveled with few stops, eager to return home to their land, to fight. When they arrived, ninja from various clans, the Yamanaka, the Hyuuga, and Nara, were all assembling, having fled in time. It was the first real news any of them had received in months. It was a simple relaying of information. They were storming a fort. To take it was to secure Konoha’s freedom. To fail was to spell their doom. They had one shot, and they took it.

The battle raged, and many ninja died. In the end, the fight began to turn for the worst. Ninja like Kaidomaru, who were younger and inexperienced, were forced to evacuate, to much disgruntlement. Kaidomaru actually knocked out two of his guards and attempted to return to the front lines, but was hauled back, his spirit commended, and his stupidity condemned. After much yelling, Kaidomaru was hauled back, still yelling curses at the NCIA.

Graciously, the Nara leased their forest to the younger ninja, throwing most of them in the deep forests of the Nara reserve. There Kaidomaru wandered from the group, content to find himself in a familiar setting. For a time he had no choice but to wait as the Konoha movement was defeated, and the ninja round up, slaughtered, or scattered to the winds…

ø Chapter 6: Resistance Fighter At Last ø Following the forced retreat from the battlefront, Kaidomaru stayed with the Resistance group inside the Nara Clan’s forest. Shortly afterward, the survivors filed in, and delivered the grim news that their assault had been utterly defeated. Kaidomaru officially enlisted as the Resistance moved to assimilate back into the population. Since most of the well known Konoha leaders were either dead or gone, the resistance threat no longer existed to Kumo’s Ninja. This new force, this second force, built from the children and wives of the slain men, could operate in secret until the time came for a second strike. Kaidomaru made his home in his ancestral forests, erecting a simple house, but one that served the purpose of keeping him alive. He stayed connected among the resistance fighters, but rarely left his forest, unless he was shopping for food, or called upon by another resistance members. With the few Nara still living in Konoha, Kaidomaru was intent on keeping the NCIA threat OUT of his natural reserve. The deer deserved no less.

So the NCIA could come with their lightning and their numbers. Kaidomaru would be training for that day. Kaidomaru would be waiting.

ø Chapter 7: Fall of Kumo, Rise of Apathy ø As Kumo fell, life attempted to return back to normal. Kaidomaru dealt with the day to day, but as a ninja who never saw the front lines, he was personally unmotivated to really get into the politics of the world. As Hachi-nin rose and became kage in their villages, he was more or less unmoved. Eventually ninja began to head off to the Chunnin Exams, and Kaidomaru was left behind. He began to feel cast out, useless in his own village. He was made to do menial work and received little commendation for his services. In the end, Kaidomaru decided that if he was going to have glory, he'd need to take it himself.

ø Chapter 8: Raijuta's Mission ø A change came over Kaidomaru after he decided how little his village ahd actually done for he and his kind, and Kaidomaru could identify a source. The Hokage Yatako was weak. He had let Konoha dissolve into a weak shadow of its former self. So he began to research. The power Konoha once held was legendary. Summon Families ta beck and call. A Nine-Tailed Jinchuuriki. Several owners of the Rinnegan. The Tajuu Kage Bunshin. Rasengan. Chidori. Konoha was the stuff of legends. Kaidomaru could make it so again. It started with Kinsen Raz, a ninja who had used the Rasengan at the latest Exams. Kaidomaru pleaded with Konoha's Council to let him go and see this man in Oto. They denied him. But one listened. Himura Raijuta gave Kaidomaru the freedom he needed to seek out his jutsu, and a small gift and bit of impetus: A seal on his tongue that would prevent anyone from learning of his plan or Raijuta's involvement in it. The action was both defensive on Raijuta's part, for he was subverting his Kage. But it also gave Kaidomaru a second goal: learn to take the seal off himself and turn the tables on Raijuta. What could he say, Kaidomaru hated authority.

ø Chapter 9: Arrakis ø Kaidomaru heard wind of Arrakis after acquiring the Scroll of Six Paths and the Scroll of Seals, adding a list of potential future jutsu to his arsenal. He took a brief detour from going see Raz and instead participated in this tournament, where he did very well for himself, validating his power. He also met a number of ninja, including two Uchiha, Saki and Shinji, who both held a decent wealth of power themselves. Kaidomaru invited his new acquaintances to go to Oto to him, but neither showed, and the ninja took his victories as validation of his plan's correctness.

ø Chapter 10: Oto & Beyond ø Kaidomaru's mission hit a dead end when he reached Oto. Raz was distraught over some tragedy, and the village had more problems than you could swing a cat at. To be expected of a village that was never meant to exist. Kaidomaru tried to curry favor in the village until he could meet Raz himself, and was ultimately sent on a mission to Kiri, where he acquired a new target.

In Kiri, Kaidomaru met the Mizukage, Warrusu, as well as Haruyuki's Wife, and Sarutobi Mari, one of his childhood idols. He also discovered Mari could use the Rasengan, the very jutsu that had led Kaidomaru out to find Raz in the first place. Emboldened by their time together, and his recent growth in strength, Kaidomaru decided it was time to return home, since Mari would eventually be forced to come home as well, and then Kaidomaru could glean the jutsu from someone closer to home...
