Clothing: Hīragi most often wears loose clothing that allows freedom of movement. Most of her garments are oversized hand me downs from family members and charity shops. On missions, she wears a grey sweater and black pants under her flak vest, and a black headband on her forehead.
Physical Description: Hīragi is tall and willowy, with a bony appearance and lanky arms and legs. Though graceful in her steps, she feels endlessly awkward about her boyish figure, hiding it underneath billowing and baggy clothing in neutral colors. With protruding hips, a small chest and scrawny arms, the young woman does not feel there is much to be proud of. Her feet are most often bare, perhaps contained in stirrup leggings, but she does carry around a pair of studio wraps in case they are needed. In times of harsh weather or terrain, a pair of brown, faux leather boots serve her well.
The girl’s thin hair is light brown in color, falling to her shoulders in length. Usually it is just allowed to fall freely, holding a slight wave but when the girl practices her ballet or medical Ninjutsu, she whisks it up into a top knot and out of the way. When on official business, Hīragi wears a black headband across her forehead. For missions she will typically wear a black flak vest over a gray turtleneck, black pants and brown boots. Various pouches in her vest hold a number of ninja tools and curative items.
History

When Hīragi was young, she danced. The expression of her feelings through the movement of her body was a means by which she felt content and complete. The young woman found meaning in the rhythm of her feet, comfort in the lithe and willowy form of her body. In the world of ballet, she felt as comfortable as a tier in the jungle. Hīragi felt as if she belonged.
Aside from her dedication to dance, a decidedly civilian past time that seemed out of place in a war-torn world, Hīragi’s childhood was normal. She was the younger of two siblings, equal in their ghostly appearance and talent for the physical arts. Kobushi, the older brother, was a talented gymnast in his own right. He had joined the national team at the age of 13, one of the youngest ever to do so and the most talented by far. It was not long until there was talk of him representing the country in international games and tournaments.
The two lived with their parents on the Senju estate in a modest row house. It was a peaceful existence, and while they all were blessed with the gifts of their ancestry, none of the four members of the family showed any willingness to become shinobi. Only Hīragi’s mother, an accomplished botanist named Inumaki, ever used the Mokuton in daily life. Her father, a factory worker, had never shown much of a penchant for anything beyond tinkering. A timid and aloof soul, Iromomiji preferred to read by the fire or play with puzzles.
This quiet life continued until the dawn of the NCIA, and even then was largely uninterrupted by its fearsome wave. The family moved to Hotarunoshi to escape the destruction in Konoha but, other than that, were allowed to resume their lives in much the same manner as before. Their heritage did mean that they were forced to register their whereabouts with the NCIA, presumably so the organization knew where to look if they suddenly decided to start a tree-related rebellion. Other than this brief interaction, which mostly exposed the family to bureaucracy rather than violence, they had little to do with the invading force that had taken over the shinobi world.
When finally the world returned to some form of normalcy, the family moved back to Konohagakure no Sato and helped in the efforts to rebuild it. Hīragi and her brother resumed their respective activities, with Kobushi having an eye on the highest prize at the upcoming international gymnastics meet. The boy was talented, and pushed himself to the limits regularly in hopes of scoring the top prize, something he was expected to win easily. Hīragi, meanwhile, had recently been offered a contract to join an internationally renowned touring dance company. She was set to depart for the land of Birds on the day that Kobushi fell. He did not get up.
At first the young man's prognosis was optimistic. He had fallen from a great height, but doctors were confident in his strength and youth. Eventually, though, they had to admit that he was a lost cause. Kobushi had hit his head and broken his neck, resulting in both paralysis and severely crippling his cognitive abilities. In a flash, he had gone from being a promising young talent to a vegetable. The brother Hīragi had known, who had driven her to succeed from day one, was nothing more than a shell of his former self. He had to be bathed, fed and wheeled around like a small baby. What few attempts he made to communicate were garbled and nonsensical.
Kobushi’s injuries felt like a stake through Hīragi’s heart. When the doctors were unable to fix his condition, she drove herself mad attempting her own medical research. The girl’s understanding of Ninjutsu was rudimentary at best but she truly believed it was the answer to her brother’s problems, and that the doctors at Hinata Hospital simply were not trying hard enough. While her parents worked long hours to pay the mounting medical bills, and spent what little free time they did have caring for their stricken son, the girl made up her mind that she would be the one to cure Kobushi. She withdrew from the dance company that had offered her a position, and set about her task.
Hīragi enrolled in Konoha’s Shinobi Academy, studying hard. Ninjutsu and its required chakra control proved harder than she had anticipated, and Taijutsu was where the young Senju really seemed to flourish… much to her chagrin. By the time she graduated a few years later, the doctors were already unanimous: Kobushi would lead a short and pitiful life requiring round the clock care. She refused to believe it.
With nothing left for her to do, and no other viable way to spend her time, Hīragi took up the mantle of a Shinobi. She’d heard it was a dangerous job, but the cut of her apathy had grown sharp and cruel. The girl no longer cared.
Combat Style

Hīragi is quite lazy, and not one for violence. Though her strength is great, thanks to the techniques of the Legendary Tsunade, and Haruno Sakura, the girl doesn't really throw her muscle around. She tends to hang back in battles, curing wounds and trying to stay out of trouble. The girl has yet to be forced to kill another human, but does not believe she is capable. Even if she were to be faced with a terrible foe, or someone who deserved to die, Hīragi would be more likely to incapacitate or arrest the offender rather than murder them.
As in life, she tends to be passive on the battlefield and yields readily to orders.
