Ote Fell

Ote is a gennin of Kumogakure. While he is recently graduated from the Academy, he shows a thirst for knowledge and knack for learning. While the sensor arts of his clan is something he is interested in learning eventually, his focus at the moment is his studies of basic shinobi life.

Appearance

Hair Color: Short hair dyed dark blue with lighter blue highlights. The sides of Ote's head are shaved quite close to the skin, giving it a unique texture to his sensitive hands. The dye in Ote's hair is made from a special blend of dye that is mixed with his own chakra. The dye itself also is sensed as blue by other Fell. Ote keeps a goatee well groomed and closely shaven.
Eye Color: Vivid, crystalline azure iris with a vibrant orange where the pupil would be in a normal person's eye. The two colors meet and collide in small explosions of crystals.
Chakra Signature: Ote's chakra signature is silver in color with the sensation of mint being chewed. The mint extends to the ghost of a scent mixed with a sweetness of berries. This sweetness is counterbalanced by a sensation of firmness.
Clothing:
-Casual: Normally, Ote forgoes a shirt and prefers, instead, to wear a dark blue hoodie with a yellow lining. While he can't actually see the colors in the normal sense, the texture and sensation of the fabric on his skin. The pants he wears hang loosely on his hips and extend just slightly beyond his feet. Along the sides of the pants are a multitude of chains and zippers that have been sewn into the pants. Ote runs his hands along these bits of metal absentmindedly.

-Formal: In situations where his hoodie alone is not appropriate, Ote dons a charcoal black button up shirt with an ash gray sports coat lined with black pinstripes and matching pants. A blood red handkerchief is folded neatly and placed into his jacket pocket. The pinstriping in Ote's jacket and pants are made of a special fabric that was spun with a touch of chakra, allowing those of the Fell Clan to sense the clothing even if they can't see it.

-Battle: Ote wears a short sleeved chain mesh t-shirt with a zipper down the front. The sleeves of the shirt are made of metal instead of fabric. Over the top of the shirt he wears a thick open vest with leather covered metal plates down the front and back. A pair of black gloves with the fingertips cut off and sand packed into the cavities above the knuckles. Two metal cuffs ring his biceps and a black choker rounds his neck. His hitai-ate is sewn into a a very long piece of black fabric that reaches to the back of Ote's knees. A pair of jet black, full length pants that lead into a pair of heavy duty boots. A pair of spray painted knee pads studded with blunt bits of metal provide extra umph when attacking. Several leather cords wrap around various parts of his legs. Two kunai holsters rest on each his hips, one on each side. Around his waist is two belts, one to secure his pants and a second belt that is meant to keep his mind entertained with different textures and materials.

History

-Pre-Roleplay

Ever since Ote could remember his family had been rather well off. Neither of his parents had been shinobi. His mother was a seamstress and his father was a craftsman of sorts. He wasn’t privy to the world outside of Kumogakure, but the world he grew up in was peaceful and thriving. His parents’ ventures in trade exceeded expectation and the family was able to live comfortably. Ote never went without a necessity. His clothes were fine and he was given toys that kept him entertained for hours on end. His family had great meals in which they would eat together in front of a crackling fire. He had family that were shinobi and every now and then, he would receive gifts from other countries. A tea from Konoha, silk from Oto, a jagged shark tooth from Kiri, gifts that did not require the use of his eyes.

However, when he was nine years old, things started to change. The NCIA had been defeated. Ote wasn’t exactly sure what that meant at the time, but he did start to realize the impact it had on his family. His mother seemed to stay home more often than before and his father’s chakra seemed to constantly flicker with a strange concern. Ote's clothes became less extravagant, he no longer got fancy toys and his family meals were often accompanied by silence and worry. Ote was adamant about finding work to help his family’s dwindling financial situation, however, there were very few things that a boy his age could do. It left only the path of a Shinobi open before him.

He knew it was his duty, not only for his family, but his country to take up the mantle of a warrior and go forth and protect his country while helping to support his family. At the very least, the financial strain on his parents would be lessened as he entered the Academy.

Not long before he graduated, his mother found work again and his father was given a contract for one of his patents. Things started looking up, but Ote knew that it would be a long while before any of them would be able to return to the lifestyle they were used too. Even five years after the fact, with Ote a newly promoted gennin, his family worked hard to maintain a comfortable life.

This only cemented his dedication to protecting his family and country. It drive him to work twice as hard as some of the other students. He studied his jutsu carefully, he seemed to be particularly adept in sensing chakra, which was no surprise considering his lineage and found himself to be quite the agile foe. In all his free time, he trained. Trained his mind and body as well as tempered himself for the path ahead of him.

-First Steps

Ote had been taking on low level missions for a while, but the first one of note was with a peculiar ninja named Hatake Tokei. On a patrol mission, the two seemed to butt heads right off the bat. Tokei's eager personality a stark contrast to Ote's more reserved demeanor. However, the two made it through the mission without incident.

It wasn't long after that, that Ote broke down to Tokei's incessant goading and pleading to spar. The two squared off in a friendly match under supervision of a chuunin at the Academy. While Ote was still fresh to the rank of Gennin, he still did not seem to stand a chance against the also recently promoted Tokei. As Tokei won the match, Ote has silently vowed to take him down a peg or two... eventually.

After recovering, Ote was sent on yet another mission. This one, he met a Chuunin named Shiriya Makoto, a 'totally princess' gennin named Rinha Otome and the very lively Minako. While they were not a team quite yet, it was the first experience Ote had with such a dynamic.
