Furousha 'Rho' Rokuro [浮浪者 六朗] is a Yuki-born gennin of the Furousha Clan. He currently resides in Kumogakure no Sato as a gennin of the village.

Appearance

Hair: Rho's hair grows in a flaxen crown of cropped and coarse strands. He secretly takes great pride in making sure his hair is the right amounts of windblown and tousled each day.

Eyes: Slate, with black pupils that can contract into paper-thin slits.

Physical Description: Towering at over six feet tall and built like a bull, Rho casts a sturdy and imposing figure. His bronze skin is permanently tanned by sun, furnace, and flames. His broad shoulders and burly arms are sculpted from years of hard labor, as are his hands which are calloused and cracked. All sorts of hairy, Rho takes on a translucent and fuzzy glow when the light frames him. Perhaps a characteristic of his lineage, Rho is not quite finished growing yet, nor has he truly grown into his current proportions. The more curious aspects of his appearance are the feline ones- Rho was born with a pair of pointed, sand-colored ears upon his head and a matching, adequately prehensile tail.

Clothing: Seeing as Rho hails from Snow Country, he does not seem to mind the cold. His daily wear approaches dress code-like repetition that defies any extreme of weather, and consists of a form fitted sleeveless tank top tucked into loose dark slacks with a reliable belt. His footwear is just as pragmatic- bulky workman's boots that can brave the elements as much as he can. Rho wears his newly acquired village headband around his neck.

Personality

Rho is a hardworking young man with good intentions. He favors strict routines over variety, and strives to keep aspects in his life just the way they are. He is incredibly duty oriented, and finds strength and purpose in law and faith. Serious to a fault, he fails at comprehending jokes and sarcasm. Fun, to him is the thrill of a challenge, and the feeling of exhaustion after a day's work. Looking out for others is his top priority, and Rho naturally finds himself walking ahead and smoothing the path behind him for others.

Rho is not without his faults however, as his provisioning nature can come off as matronly and smothering to others, and his seriousness can make it hard to connect with others. He takes commands without question from anyone he interprets as a superior and can be too trusting of what others say. Fairly illiterate due to pulling himself out of school at a very young age, Rho finds great difficulty in creative and intellectual pursuits, including those of shinobi studies. He comes off quite oafish in the face of complex problems- if something can't be fixed with fists then the only solution is to leave it alone.

He has a profound and irrational fear of small critters and pests. Otherwise Rho is fearless, except when he takes on dangerous jobs and he fears coming back with one less person to call friend.

Background

Furousha Rokuro was born in the frigid summer of 2096 in a small hut in Snow Country. His name meant the sixth son, but he was the only child and never quite understood the madness to the name. He favored the nickname Rho instead, but not so much the doting Roro his mother calls him. His father disappeared before his birth, either finding a new life elsewhere or the more probable outcome of finding his end in their homeland's internal bloodshed. Rho was told by his mother and what clan mates remained in their company that his father was loyal to the end to his country. In his father's shadow, Rho too chose the honesty of hard work over thievery that others of his clan were often driven to. Being a Furousha and detested by many in Snow Country, Rho was unable to hold down anything longer than temporary and contract labor.

With the establishment of the Kumo Empire during his early teens, Rho chose to keep his head down and stay in the fringes of society, which wasn't hard being in Snow Country. Despite being only twelve at the time, Rho's lineage granted him a sturdy and tall frame that overlooked even adults. He found jobs aplenty, fueled by Kumogakure's rising economic power that pulled resources from all over the continent, mainly in mineral mining, lumber, and fur trapping. The hours were long and the work often dangerous, but the act of blood and sweat was guaranteed to be paid in generous coin. It was with the fall of the Kumo Empire that the wealth of the nation dried up, and with the following industrial recession Rho found it harder to secure jobs. Rho's mother urged her son consider taking this opportunity to start doing something to empower himself, as he had put his own education and betterment on hold for years. The shinobi path was an ancestral calling to many Furousha, and the one that was walked by his father, wherever he may be.

Rho had no natural knack for the concepts of chakra molding, but he was loathe to go against his mother and his father's wishes. With the recent yokai infestations occurring throughout the continent and the escalating conflict between Yuki and Iwa, the clan decided it was best that Rho continue honing his strength overseas. He obeyed with a heavy heart, believing that his true place was with the Furousha to face whatever dangers came their way. However, when the next rare merchant ship made port in Snow Country, an already homesick Rokuro stowed away below deck with a portion of his family's savings. Destination unknown, the next time Rho set foot again on solid land, it was on the strange soils of the Country of Lightning.

Career

Rho's career as a gennin is slow to take off. He finds himself falling into a routine of picking up wayside missions of menial labor that resemble his previous occupations. He focuses on taijutsu and claw strikes out of necessity since he is unskilled in chakra manipulation. An alliance between the Furousha clan and the plains walkers of the fallen Kusagakure no Sato allowed him to train in the Wild Beast style of taijutsu.
