Konohagakure no Sato

Konohagakure no Sato or 'The Village Hidden in Leaves', is the shinobi village of the Country of Fire, Hi no Kuni. It is arguably the oldest established shinobi village in the world, despite rumors. It was created by the alliance of the Senju and Uchiha clans as a place of settling for shinobi families in an attempt against feudal lords. The village is located in the center of The Country of Fire, with a large mountain in the backdrop, known as the Hokage Monument; where the faces of all the Hokage are engraved in the mountain. This tradition is still enacted today even. Konoha is also known for the Forest of Death, which surrounds the village on all sides. The village trains shinobi in the art of Fire ninjutsu and the Lotus Style of taijutsu, along with other shinobi arts. It has some of the world's most famous clans and summons, which are still alive in the world today.

Konohagakure no Sato has been known for its large numbers, military strength and economical prosperity. In the recent years under the current Hokage, the village has practiced mostly in its tourism business to keep an economical high, enough to aid other countries, mostly Otogakure no Sato. Konohagakure has been victim to destruction and rebirth several times during its original building. through it all, the people of Konoha burn with the Will of Fire enough to unite in times of strife and is known for its spirit more than its architecture.

Academy

Konoha's Ninja Academy

The Academy at Konohagakure no Sato has produced most of the Leaf's greatest shinobi, save for the era of the NCIA war where its principles and foundations were still taught outside of the four walls. Unlike the time of Hokage Uzumaki Naruto, the academy does not house the Hokage's office in its spire. Instead, the Academy is situated next to the Hokage's Tower.

The instructors at the Academy are mostly Jounin and Chuunin, with special lessons given by Gennin as a means of encouragement and leadership training. The academy grounds house a vast maze and a jungle-gym set. Instructors aiming to test their students have known to tweak gravity to make it a more challenging experience. Academy Students are instructed in the major fields of Taijutsu, Ninjutsu and Genjutsu with additional classes with weapons and bushido code. Over the years, more academic titles such as history, philosophy and money management have become available. The Academy holds advanced classes in medication, puppetry, pet training and weapon smithing usually after hours by special Jounin.

Konohagkure's Military force is comprised mostly of ninja, but there are many samurai that augment its strength. The way of the Bushido and the Will of Fire often coincide, making samurai and shinobi live in peacefulk coexistance. The Will of Fire and the strong family bonds that run deep within this village is the major flame of its strength. Although this village contains many of the iconic clans in the world, a ninja of the Leaf is expected to carry the charisma of their ancestors and the wisdom of their bonds. This is where their greatest asset derives.

Non-teaching Chuunin and Jounin will often enlist in the Konohagakure Police Force or the Intelligence Corps. Both are major forces in the village, seeking to control threats in the village along with outside of it. Due to the emphasis on internal stability, Konohagakure has an outstandingly low crime rate, so much that Hotrarunoshi often requests their assistance. Another avenue for occupation would be research or fellowship at the Hinata Hospital. During the occupation of the NCIA, many children grew into a non-combative role and it is not uncommon to see them return to it as a side job. Ninja instead pledge to be contracted security on behalf of the village are considered Field Ninja.

The most secret organization in the village is the ANBU black opts. To be enlisted in this organization is an honor that one will never be able to speak of. Their names are sometimes crossed off the books during the time they serve. They will take the most difficult and gray missions available. Their efficiency keeps the village stable.

Police Headquarters

The Konoha Military Police, or KMP for short, is the first line of defense in day to day crime in Konoha. They deal primarly with incidents and security within the village itself. Originally founded by the Uchiha, today Uchiha Souji commands the force. Despite attempts by the NCIA to transition the force into their fold, there was far too much resistance and the project was abandoned, only to be spearheaded by Souji in the aftermath of the fall. The KMF works closely with the Intelligence Corps and will often find themselves collaborating on a case.

The Military Police is especially target towards Gennin who graduated the academy. As an instituion, the KMP trains cadets on site and it acts as an academy+. Each cadet has a room within the KMP and until they complete basic training, they may not have housing outside the compound. Cadets are split into four groups that compete against each other for graduation. Each squad is named after a leaf and is split into the following: Hemlock, Hawthorn, Magnolia and Mulberry. One lieutenants oversees two squads.

Hinata Hospital

Konohagakure's main hospital, named after Hyuuga Hinata who spent many years as head doctor of the hospital. Her contributions set Konoha as the leader of the medical field in the world. This had been confirmed when Kumogakure invaded and secured the hospital first, before taking over the rest of the village. During the NCIA reign, Hinata Hospital was the research center the Empire was using to create deadly viruses and enact biological warfare. Luckily that was put to rest.

The Hinata Hospital has gained world renown as being a place where top notched doctors are trained and serve. Their approach blends modern science with ancient spiritualism that renderly approach the topics of life and death. The hospital has a psychiatric ward named GENUTECH that specializes with using genjutsu as a means of therapy.

The Forest of Death

The forest of death is one of the most mystical properties of Konohagakure no Sato and the entire country itself. The place is extremely dangerous and is the common place for criminals to flee and test their luck against the beasts that lurk inside. It can be a very peaceful place at times and blood thirsty most of the time. It held the Chuunin exams in the days of Naruto in the Fourty-fourth training ground and is a popular place for ninja to lurk.

The Forest of Death is surrounded by metal barricades designed to keep the creatures of the dark out, along with Gennin that shouldn't be roaming the dangerous paths. Several training grounds have been secured in the Forest of Death, which are usually accessed by means of special clearances by Jounin instructors.

There are very few secrets known about the forest. Some have reported seeing spirits, sprites and dimensions to other worlds inside. The NCIA were not able to conquer this natural defense, as if whatever that lurks inside was determined to keep them out. In the forest was the first meeting of the Konohagakure Resistance force, where the bodies of fallen soldiers came to life. To its own dismay, part of the forest was burned when Hyuuga Takumi fought a spider-shinobi captain from Otogakure no Sato. Most of the shinobi hadn't perished in the fire and it was put out later. In the recent years it has mostly grown back, at quicker rates than one might think.

Fort Kaifukuryoku

The Central Headquarters of Konoha's ANBU units. The fort is also known as Fort Kai due to its long name. Fort Kai is stationed outside of the village as the first line of defense and to keep out unwanted guests. For Kai is a giant castle on the fence of the Forest of Death with a large foreground that prevents any visitors from hiding. There are rumors for underground tunnels that lead directly into the village and great spotlights that light up the entire fairground.

During the fall of the Empire, this was the last establishment that required freedom before the Konohagakure Resistance could retake the village of leaves. Chouzou's Charge was ultimately a failure due to the strength of Fort Kai and the NCIA occupants that laid within. Due to this, Fort Kai was hardly damaged during the war and was outfitted with NCIA technology that it used today.

Jinchuuriki

Kurama, the Kyuubi

Konohagakure has housed the most dangerous of all the Bijuu, Kyuubi. The nine tailed fox demon plagued its lands for centuries until the Uzumaki clan developed a way to seal the demon within a host, creating Jinchuuriki. When Uzushiogakure no Sato perished, Konohagakure no Sato swallowed up what remained and learned all the secrets it could from the island.

After the passing of Uzumaki Naruto, the Kyuubi was willingly sealed into another host known only as Nox. The Great Hokage had convinced the Kyhuubi of the greatness in people and as long as the fox was around there would be unrest. There would be those chasing him to capture or kill him. Therefore, Kyuubi agreed to life of solitude deep in Hi no Kuni's southern region. Nox would, on occasion, travel to Konohagakure in disguise, get a few kicks and then disappear back into solitude. Nox and Kyuubi had created a mind experiment that kept them busy for most of the time. It was also not uncommon for the pair to visit other bijuu and keep them in line.

The Kyuubi has calmed quite a bit since his days of terror, but that was not to say he did not create graveyards in the days of the NCIA.

Miscellaneous

• Konohagakure no Sato is the only village that failed its original freedom attempt, due to Ooc inactivity, it freedom porcess, however was one of the longest and most extensive of all the villages.
• During its final rebellion, a Gate to the Spirit Realm was opened up in the sky and the village was flooded with ghosts. Due to this, the village has become extremely superstitious and a spirituality is at an all time high.
• The Village of the Leaf is the village with the highest number of holidays, in the days of observation for fallen comrades, harvest and solstice festivals and among other times of unity and celebration.
• Konohagakure has the highest number of reelected Kages and highest number of Kage assassinations.
• In the past Konohagakure has been known for its wars against other countries, but now it is one of the most peaceful villages, aiming for high relations with the main shinobi nations and is reflected off its leadership.
