AkaSabure Kouta is a Senin of Sunagakure no Sato, principle village of Kaze no Kuni, and is also one of the renowned Hachinin. Kouta is the first ninja in his village to be publicly known as a wielder of all Eight of the Celestial Gates of Chakra Manipulation. He is also the only ninja in recorded history who has mastery over the Gold and Iron Sands without being either a Host of Shukaku or a Kazekage. Commonly referred to as the “Hachinin Hermit,” Kouta is often gone from his native village for long periods of time without notice or apology.

Appearance

Eye Color: Light Brown

Hair Color: Kouta’s hair juts up from his head in a ridiculous spiked mass. The sharp-as-a-blade hairstyle is a deep brown in color, full of rich, luxurious color. Kouta’s hair holds very little real significance to him, besides being closer cropped to the sides and back of his head to prevent it from getting in his face.

Clothing: Kouta’s clothing varies wildly. When not attending village duties or ceremonies, he almost never wears his flak jacket. Usually, Kouta goes for a sleeker black look. He is all about functionality in battle, so form-fitting shirts with short or no sleeves win out in the end. His pants are usually more baggy in nature, allowing for wide sweeping kicks and full ranges of motion in his legs. Kouta does wear light armor on most of his clothing, including bracers on each forearm and a thin plate of black metal on his chest and back. His legs are left less protected, or, if armor is applied, it is placed underneath the clothing he wears, making little impact on his visual appearance.

Physical Description: Kouta’s face is angular, but his face is overly goofy, much like a mischevious cat. Kouta’s hair juts in all directions, claiming whatever space it desires. Kouta’s body is just as functional as his clothing. A lithe body suits his needs, so it is what he has perfected. His legs seems almost too thin to perform as powerfully as they do, hardly looking muscled at all. His arms and chest are broader and more obviously toned.

Personality

Kouta is, at his heart, a goofball. He is sarcastic and often enjoys making teasing jokes of anyone around him. Despite his teasing persona, the Suna shinobi knows exactly when he should get serious and focus on the task at hand. He just often chooses to ignore that point, and only get serious when he has no other choice.

He harbors an intense hatred for anyone who dares to betray his trust. It is rarely given and done so with great weight. To reveal what is said in confidence, or even worse to betray him, is a crime punishable by death, immediately. He is still compassionate, possibly even more so since he knows how easily it can end, for life. He feels that, while his has been well spent and isn’t worth much to anyone, that life is sacred, and it is one of the few things the world should invest in protecting.

Political Views

Kouta is an opinionated man, and happily speaks his part of political notions. He has openly criticized his country's Kage multiple times, often calling them fickle rulers. Kouta has lived under six different Kage in his lifetime, a disturbing fact that should never be.

Kouta also considers himself a Sunagakuran Purist. He remembers fondly the times when Suna could send a single shinobi to rival an entire platoon of ninja from any other nation. He openly advocates more intense training of Suna’s Genin in order to reinstate such a truth.

Finally, Kouta believe in anti-war measures. He has publicly announced his agreement of Suna’s Free-Asylum mentality and pushes harder for complete Neutrality. Suna openly gives asylum to any who seek it, including criminals, runaway Genin, or citizens who fear war. It also keeps its borders closed to most other nations’ shinobi. Kouta approves of these actions, preferring Suna to stay an independent nation free of outside influence.

History

Kouta was born to only one of two shinobi parents. His mother a medical shinobi of low station, his father and brother woodworkers. In his early life, Kouta’s father was strongly against his attention to ninja studies, urging him to join the family business. Eventually his decision to be a ninja would cause his father and mother to go their separate ways. Due to the large weight invested in his training, Kouta pursued his art with more vigor than ever.

Kouta’s early treatise with chakra was miserable, and well into his days as a Chunnin, chakra manipulation vexed him. Kouta began to hone his skill in Taijutsu, being one of the youngest shinobi to ever gain access to the fifth chakra gate. Learning himself so deeply, Kouta also awoke within him a power that rested in the very molecules of his being, a bloodline usually associated with Kazekage. Taking it as a sign, he continued to study his arts.

Following the disaster at the Chunnin Exams that claimed two lives, Kouta began to collapse mentally. He couldn’t handle the mental stress of his shinobi life, and began to use the war ahead as an excuse not take his multiple personality disorder seriously. During the battle that made the Hachi-nin famous, Kouta reportedly changed personalities three times, displaying a near inhuman viciousness.

After the war, Kouta disappeared from the public eye. He abandoned his idea of being Kazekage, and instead finally took the time to put himself back together. His return to Suna was recent, and came as a rather large surprise to the connected world. Since then he has seemed more stable, and is no doubt far more powerful than he was when he left.

Career

Since he first applied for permission to learn the Celestial Gates, Kouta has been in the eye of every Kazekage Suna has had. He impressed two consecutive kage with his attention to the Gates and subsequent acquisition of the Iron Sand Bloodline. Eventually he was assigned to a Junior ANBU Task Force, and then to a more formal Black Ops Division, both under separate Kage. Kouta was encouraged to use his “unique” fighting style to subdue enemies.

When Kumo arrived with their war, Kouta happily joined the Resistance. It was during Suna’s fight for its freedom that he would meet Alchem Syaoran, a future Hachinin and the future Tsuchikage. Kouta won his battles handily, displaying a powerful mastery of both sand based ninjutsu and deadly sword technique.

After the war, Kouta ceased to be publicly. His great list of accomplishments trailed into nothing. Other villages frequently call him “Least of the Hachinin.” Kouta answered to nobody, including his own Kage, for several years before returning to his village. Few know what he did, or where he went during those years.
