Nepan Shin

Nepan Shin of the Konoha Brotherhood

Nepan Shin is a Sennin of Konohagakure no Sato and a member of the Konoha Brotherhood. The Brotherhood comprised of Hyuuga Yatako, Nepan Shin and Nara Gensai, baptized by the Hokage Ryuuza Chouzou to lead the resistance to free Konoha. Shin heralded from a small clan of blacksmiths whose bloodline allowed him three transformations: Hades Form, Diamond Form and Steel Form as well as allowing him to use lava. It also allowed him a form of pyrokenisis. Nepan Shin had disappeared after the failed freedom attempt to search for Uchiha Haruki, his former master.

The Hepaestos Clan

The former prisoners of Iwa from a forgotten war were used in various ways. Where most of the shinobi were interrogated and later faced the end of their lives, a few were picked for experiments; studying their abilities while introducing different elements directly into their bloodstream to see if they could create an inhibitor which would successfully make the user's chakra unable to perform such techniques, rendering their vast stores useless when it comes to ninjutsu or genjutsu techniques. One such experiment managed to graft the elements of carbon directly into the candidates, giving them the ability to not only giving them the ability to produce magma, the combination of fire and earth, but also to adjust the cellular structure of their bodies to various forms of the carbon element.

Funding for the project was soon cut and the managers decided to cut their losses; to quietly make the remaining test subjects disappear. During the process of transport, the surviving four shinobi were escorted by a convoy, but later found themselves ambushed; the survivors scattered across the countryside while deciding to keep their existence to a minimum. Taking on trades within Konoha, they lived structured lives as blacksmiths; using their abilities to create stronger weaponry and armor for the village.

The attack of Kumo opened a new door for them, one which the four generations in the past never received. The growing family of blacksmiths in the clan gave their children to their new home's struggle for freedom; sending those with the gene out to the rebel leaders as shinobi for their cause, to become once and for all; citizens of a village and restore honor to their former lives.

• Diamond Form: In this form, the ninja is often seen wearing jewelry of diamonds and various diamond forged weapons and projectiles. Good for long ranged combat.
• Steel Form: In this form, the ninja is usually seen cased in steel armor good for close ranged combat.
• Hades Form: In this form, the ninja's body is enveloped in flames and calls lava by will. Good for ultimate destruction.

Biography

Shin always wanted to become a shinobi, but it was a forbidden subject to the clan. His father believed that anything involving the government directly would make them seem suspicious; their family would quietly remember the history of their clan while hiding in plain sight; to become good standing citizens where ideas of their previous lives wouldn't be a second thought. The knowledge of their bloodline was a secret, only as a last resort in case a hasty departure was required while to their pursuer's surprise. Years past by as his ambition waned, but the first shake of explosions awoken them.

He quietly observed as the new regime changed the order of regular business, orders for new weapons and armor were at an all time high, but punishment reminiscent of what happened to his ancestors were too much for him to bear. It was the publicized slaughter of shinobi which directed his anger, the only one of his clan which felt the call to duty, to defend what was formerly the great village. He learned the skills of the shinobi in secret, often practicing in the seclusion in the rock quarry as he gathered supplies with his grandfather Nepan Masaki until he was able to join the resistance.

Shin had fought valiantly for the Konohagakure resistance. Out of all the brotherhood, he was thought to be the one to take up the Hokage's mantle. When the resistance had failed in their first attempt, Nepan Shin traveled to the Country of Coal in search of Uchiha Haruki along with Hyuuga Yatako. While learning of Haruki's corrupted ways, Shin worked for his organization Hakumei. there came to a point where Haruki confessed his organization's goal was to slay Uchiha Madara, who commanded the League of Assassin's. Shin remembered that Nara Gensai had joined such an organization and refused to continue on this ordeal. Haruki though would have none of betrayal and sent hunters after Shin as he escaped. Beaten and bloody but still alive, Shin went into hiding in Amegakure no Sato to recover. He hated every day that he was there, but still remained as it was a hub outside of the NCIA and the Resistance.

Shin took up work as a blacksmith in Amegakure, but as a technological city, he got only minimal business. It was usually contractor work for kunai, shuriken and the occasional katana. He stayed though, trying to get any information he could on Gensai. Hearing rumors of assassins in Konoha, Shin made his way back home and infiltrated their mission. He slew several of their ninja and sparred agianst gensai in secret before revealing himself. Gensai was stricken by the revelation and left that night with Shin. He was so distraught over everything that he vowed to give up shinobihood for a time and explore the world and himself.

Afterwards, Shin retired back in Amegakure, feeling too shamed to return to Konoha after hearing of its successful rebellion. He would train students off an on as they passed by and he would always keep an ear out for his home village. Hearing of the destruction of Hakumei, Shin returned to the City of Tin to see it with his own eyes. His investigations never told him what had happened, but it pointed in in the right direction of Haruki. Seeing this as an opportunity to reclaim his honor, Shin moved like a relentless hound. Sending word to Hyuuga Yatako, the pair made a joint effort to capture and bring Haruki to justice.
