The grumpy yet dependable, pupper prince of Konohagakure no Sato, Inuzuka Ashi. Despite his demeanor, Ashi can be just as hard a worker as the next guy, and it shows in his teamwork with his ninken, Sabimaru. The canine duo are part of a 3-man team (plus one pup) that also includes Yamanaka Suika and Otsutsuki Kuzume.

Appearance

The Pupper Prince, in all his sleepy glory.

Clothing: Over his shaggy brown head of hair, Ashi usually wears a comfy gray hat that looks a little floppy, but he has learned to position it in such a way that it won't fall off. It also serves as a sleep aid to block out the impeding sunlight by pulling it over his eyes. Around his neck is his hitai-ate made with a dark navy blue fabric, placed over the memento that his father brought back from a hunt, kept on a black leather chord.

He wears a sleeveless mesh shirt underneath a sleeveless army green jacket, the arm holes and lip of the hood lined with a beige colored fur-like material. In colder temperatures, he switches out his mesh shirt for a dark gray long sleeved shirt. Like with his hat, Ashi also uses the hood of his jacket to aid as a pillow and make it darker when, say, sleeping at a desk or table. He wears a pair of comfortable black pants that are scrunched up at about halfway down his calves, and has a brown pouch attached behind his waist for various tools. Around his right thigh are some white wrappings beneath the strap of his kunai holster. On his feet are a pair of sandals of the same color as his hitai-ate.

Physical Description: Though Ashi would be considered by most to be a sleepyhead of a pup, he lets people think that it in fact makes him lazy. Which is all the much sweeter when he proves them wrong with his training, his body lithe and quick from running around with the ninken of the Inuzuka compound. Tattooed on his face, he has the trademark red fang marks of the Inuzuka clan over his light beige toned skin. His eyes, when seen open, have a feral look to them albeit 'tired'. When rudely woken up from sleeping, his shaggy hair assists the threatening glare he shoots, darkening the area around his sharp eyes. The Inuzuka boy's canine teeth are also slightly prominent, a fang-like tooth usually to be seen hanging out of his mouth.

History

Childhood Days

Ashi wasn't always a stickler for napping whenever he could at whatever time of day. In his younger days, he spent his time running and play wrestling with the ninken of the Inuzuka residence whenever the opportunity arose, acting much like a young pup himself. His mother's and father's canine companions were like a second pair of parents, keeping an eye out for him whenever he would run off somewhere out of sight, dragging him back by the collar of his shirt. Both his parents joked, and still sort of do all things considered, that he played and ran around so much that he used up all his energy for his future, and that's why he sleeps so much when he can now, to make up for all that spent energy.

His mother is a skilled veterinarian and medic for both canine and human comrades alike, while his father was and still is a valuable hunter and tracker with his canine partner among the Inuzuka clan for the village hidden in the leaves. When out on a hunt, his father, Juhi, came back with a gnarly bite wound on his left arm, a fang lodged loose in his flesh from punching the beast off his arm. Despite the fact of actually getting caught up in a creatures maw, a pup of a boy Ashi really looked up to father for his skills and 'badassery' for beating some creature off his arm with nothing but his fist and his canine comrade, at least, from what he was told. Juhi had to keep his composure as his wife treated his arm, yanking out the fang for his foolishness, though slightly unprofessional, as his son looked on in amazement and admiration for his father. The boy even went on to ask if he could keep the fang because it would remind him how 'cool' he thought his dad was. His father had to laugh it off while Ashi's mother made sure she was rough with bandaging him up. He joked that the bite he got was nothing compared to anything Hitokuchi (Ashi's mother) might do to him. Ashi didn't get it.

Academy Years

Before being enrolled as an academy student, Ashi was given his first canine companion. A small, black and rust coloured pup with with floppy ears that tried their best to stand up tall and point to the sky, dubbed Sabimaru. The two of them took to each other like glue; quite inseparable. Sabimaru followed Ashi where ever he went, whether he tagged along beside him or Ashi carried him in his jacket when he got tired. The small pup even kept a vigilant lookout for threats while the Inuzuka boy began his habit of napping. Often when Ashi would take a nap in class, the teachers droning causing him to space out, Sabimaru would try and wake him up in time before being caught. This only usually worked about 70% of the time, as the teacher would be skeptical and send them out to the hallway anyways. Drool tended to be a dead give away.

Despite Ashi not being particularity bright and his new found joy of sleeping, he did make an effort to prove that he could get through it all, if only just so he could get back to napping. He still looks up to his father and admires him, though as he's gotten older he tends to not show it as much. Ashi still wishes to follow in his footprints to be an excellent tracker and over all, the Inuzuka boy also wants to show people who think he's nothing but lazy that he can and will make something of himself, just in his own way and at his own pace.

Sabimaru

Name: Sabimaru

Alias: Furball (Lovingly given by Ashi)

Description: Sabimaru has the build of a German Shepherd pup, with a rust-like color for his fur and black fur from the tip of his tail and along the top, to about midway up his back. His eyes are soft and a mellow orange and has a black spotted 'beauty' mark below his right eye.

Personality: The rust coloured pup is of a friendly but stern nature and watches over Ashi like a caring sibling. Sabimaru is one of the few beings, human or canine, that can get off scott free from rudely waking the Inuzuka boy up from his slumber. Though even he has a limit as to how much he'll let Ashi sleep. He tends to welcome the presence of the female kind, seeing no sense in declining perfectly good pats and belly rubs. If only Ashi had it this easy.

Trivia

General Knowledge Available to Public; IC

• Ashi loves sleeping, and so tends to take a nap wherever he can settle for one so long as the opportunity is there.
• Almost as much as he loves to sleep, Ashi loves a good BBQ. Meat dishes in general actually, though BBQ is a definite favorite.
• His name follows the traditional naming convention of the Inuzuka by picking a body part of a dog; Ashi meaning paw.
• Sabimaru's name likewise follows the naming convention of the Inuzuka canine companions, after a colour; Sabi meaning rust. He was named as such due to the colouration of his fur.
• Just about the only being able to wake Ashi up from his slumber without him snapping at them like a major grouch, is Sabimaru. His mother is also a good candidate, as she is not an Inuzuka woman to be snapped at.
• Reading books put Ashi to sleep. Just something about words trailing after another makes him drowsy.
• Ashi can easily be made to put in extra effort on the job if he's promised incentive such as...BBQ.
• One day hopes to follow in his father's footsteps and become a great hunter-nin, putting his skills as an Inuzuka to good use.

• Girls tend to flock to Sabimaru due to his cute puppy charm. Because of this, Ashi is a little envious of all the loving attention that his ninken partner gets from the opposite sex instead of him.

• A few of Ashi's clothes are based off of pieces of clothing from my own wardrobe (i.e. his hat, and his hooded vest jacket is based off my winter jacket).
