A pair of Geta that have black straps can be found on Emika's feet, which compliments a flowy white dress with fringes around her breasts and sleeves. In addition, the dress holds a small bow that ties the no shoulder-sleeves to the bodice of the dress and a matching one underneath of the flowy ruffles. On her back, she carries a small pink backpack. On her head, Emika wears her trademark straw hat.

On the strap, near her breasts there is a blue diamond, securing both sides of the strap in place. Underneath, of this blue diamond, there is a system of chakra wiring and sensors that aid in her ability to locate objects, allies, and more importantly, hostiles around her. Her bodice continues down to her legs, which are met with a similarly colored pair of ninja boots, to protect her feet. Her top-most part of her arms, including her shoulders and biceps, are exposed, though her hands and forearms are completely protected by a silken pair of black gloves. She also wears a belt, that is fastened by a Kusagakure no Sato hitae-ate.

History
- ~Chapter One: Birth and Early Childhood~
Tsumugi Emika was born with rare light lavender-colored eyes and with no visible complications to two loving shinobi sharing the Tsumugi name. Both her mother and her father loved her, and had no qualms of showing it, as they promptly tended to their only child's every want and desire. She was pampered, no, spoiled as a baby, given whatever toy, doo-dad, and candy the girl craved (and it seemed the girl had a massive sweet tooth, much larger than any person Kiku and Hara had ever seen.) All in all, everything would go great for the small family until the following fall when their daughter completely failed each of her eye exams. Confused, Tsumugi Hara took his toddler to an eye specialist in order to gain a better understanding of what could have been the problem.
"Cataracts." The woman simply told him, and prescribed him medication for his daughter to take. She explained that the medication would fight the symptoms of cancerous cell growth of the girl's iris, which threatened to cover her entire pupil. The medication, however, would have the added effect of deepening the color of the iris, and should be able to cure her of the cataracts within a month. Unfortunately the more important effects didn't occur.
While the side effect of iris darkening did occur, the cancerous cells did not stop growing. In fact, the malicious cells seemed to grow even faster with the introduction of the medication, and even after her parents discontinued its use after a week, the girl became completely blind within a month of taking her first pill.
- ~Chapter Two: Academy Years and Graduation~
Something about the shinobi way enticed Emika to join the academy. Civilian schools became easy, once her teachers taught themselves braille and began using that as a method in order to bypass her learning hindrance. Once done, she was easily in the top of her class, in all subjects, (with the exceptions of taijutsu and marksmanship) and remained at that top spot for the entirety of her academy career. But even though her grades were great, it didn't point to the fact that the girl was depressed.
When Emika reached the Hara no Kuni shinobi academy, however, her demeanor changed for the worse. Emika was both physically and verbally harassed by many of her classmates. They continued to call her names, and berate her with discouragement. They simply believed that a blind shinobi in the natural world would not last very long, and would easily be killed in any combat situation. In fact, it got to the point that it would drive her crazy. Unfortunately there were more than a handful of days that would pass where she would talk to her mother about killing herself. Emika truly believed that what the other children said was true, but she also considered any life outside being a shinobi was not a life worth living. But no matter what Emika said, or how depressed she may have been at any one point, the smile that permeated her mother's features would always cut through those dark grey emotions, like the sun after a cloudy day. Her laughter was contagious, and even after the worst of her days had passed, Emika could come home and laugh with her mother and feel a bit of happiness growing within her, not unlike the cherry tree that stood in their backyard.
When she finally received her test scores to determine whether or not she was a fully-fledged ninja of Kusagakure no Sato, Emika felt the jitters. With the introduction of the NCIA in Kusagakure at the time, not many shinobi were expected to pass, much less a blind one with no taijutsu proficiency at all. She trembled as she held the envelope, as her parents stood behind her, ready to support her no matter the decision on the paper. As she pulled it out she quickly said a silent prayer, and handed the creme-colored paper to her father. A few moments of silence passed.
"Wow. Well, I figured this was going to happen." Tsumugi Hara said, crumbling up the paper and tossing it into the waste bin. Emika's heart sank. She got up from the couch and started to sprint up toward her room, before feeling a jerk onto her arm. She could feel her father's muscle-y hands as they gripped her forearm. She put her hands to cover her eyes. No need in her parents seeing her cry.
"You didn't let me finish little Blossom." He said with a smile, giving his daughter a hug. "You passed."
"Dad, you scared me!" Emika told him, as tears of anguish quickly turned into sighs of relief and tears of joy.
- ~Chapter Three: Struggles as a Gennin~
The NCIA passed Emika on the grounds that she was highly proficient in Genjutsu, and had a basic knowledge of first aide. That was her only saving grace. Her offensive ninjutsu scores were average, her Taijutsu scores were very bad, and her Ninja Tool usage score was absolutely horrendous. The only use for her was as an interrogator, and as a medic. She was to be placed onto the Intel unit, or as a field surgeon as soon as she were to hit chuunin. But for the moment, she would be placed into a three man cell with a teacher who all specialized in Genjutsu.
The man himself would train Emika as hard as possible. It didn't matter whether or not the girl was blind, deaf, anemic, or missing both of her arms. He would train her to observe her surroundings by any means necessary. He tried teaching the girl taijutsu taijutsu and ninja tools so that she could at least stand a chance against the other gennin in kusagakure, but it came to no avail. No matter how hard he tried, the girl simply could not see, and because of it, she couldn't effectively hit her target with her fists or her tools.
- ~Chapter Four: "Temporary" Stay in Konoha~
As her teacher began to have more and more concerns for her career as a shinobi within the NCIA empire, he would report it to the authorities in 2114. This called for the a special meeting and counsel, with the village elders, the girl's parents and the Harakage in order to decide her fate. In the end, they decided that the girl would be sent to Konohagakure no sato in the fall of 2114 in order to receive treatment from the village's medical specialists, as each of the medics in their own village had either given up on the task or did not wish to attempt in curing her blindness. If the girl was not cured by the end of one year, she would be forced to live her life out as a civilian, as the pressures of shinobi life would be too much for anyone in her condition. Little did she know, this would be the last time she would see her home village.
While in Konoha, Emika received the best treatment, as she was a guest in the land of fire. She enjoyed her time there, but kept wary of the people who lived there. Though they gave friendly smiles and hugs, they weren't her comrades, and could turn on her at any moment. Emika had to be prepared for anything, even if that was to raise her mental guard whenever she was around a shinobi from the leaf. During this time, she took long unsupervised walks, making sure to feel her surroundings in case if she were to be followed. She never did anything insidious by nature, but she couldn't help but feel the eyes of a dozen highly-trained shinobi while she was there.
During early fall of 2115, it was declared that the girl could still be a shinobi, but would never receive her eyesight by medical specialists in the leaf. They argued that physical training wouldn't benefit her, but her natural tact for genjutsu could be used quite frequently during battle. Authorities in Konoha offered to train her until the winter of 2115, where she would then be escorted back to the country of grass. She promptly agreed.
One day, toward the end of fall, she received a letter, but asked her Haruno caretaker to read it for her. Emika was astonished at what happened. Kusagakure no Sato was destroyed. Reduced to ash, the once vibrant village was completely obliterated off the face of the earth, with no rhyme or reason as to why. As the Haruno girl told her, both girls teared up as they realized the likelihood of the the Tsumugi family's demise.
