International Metropolis Chuunin Exams

The International Metropolis Chuunin Exams was a tournament held in Metropolis during the Fall of 2115. It included 18 participants from six different countries [excluding Konohagakure no Sato], and was the first tournament of it's kind in almost a decade. It is marked as one of the first times the World Leaders had come together since the fall of the Kumogakure Empire, as well as the the first known appearance of the supernatural creatures known as Yokai.

Location

The decision to hold the exams within the Country of Earth was a joint decision by many of the world leaders. The Country had gone through a period of strong growth following the demise of the Kumogakure Empire, and had both the economic and political stability to host the Exams. Metropolis was eventually chosen as the exact location for the Chuunin Exams, due in large part to the existing Daitengu Stadium, an arena completed in 2111 that could hold up to 90,000 people. Daniel Hollows, Alchem Syaoran, and at least one of the IAF Admirals were on hand to oversee the event.

The first event was a non-linear race that involved individual competitors to travel to three separate locations and complete a task. Once a competitor had collected all three flags from the locations they could return to the starting zone and finish the race. The fastest times were awarded the win in this event, however special note was taken of how individuals handled the tasks laid out for them. The exam started in Daitengu Stadium and included the Metropolis Tower, the Metropolis War Memorial, and an I.A.F. airship that was set above a district of the city. In between each of these locations was Market Square, District 9, District 10, District 11, and District 13,

Aftermath

The after party of the International Metropolis Chuunin Exam mixed with the final days of the Harvest Spirit Festival to create a sprawling street celebration that took up many city blocks. Though much of the party was in the streets, private parties were held in many residences around the city as well as some private gardens. A few hours after nightfall however, a large explosion was seen in the sky as Yokai descended on the festivities. Battles erupted in the streets as shinobi from all major nations fight against the beasts. Among those present during the festival and in the fights were the Hokage Hyuuga Yatako, the Tsuchikage Alchem Syaoran, the Raikage Tokeiza Jishin, Kinsen 'Raz' Rasen, Cho Hakkai, Akasabure Kouta, and Hisame Haruyuki. Unknown to those present at the time, the attack happened at nearly the same time as the Destruction of Kusagakure.
