Ōtsutsuki Akio ( Akio Ōtsutsuki) is a shinobi of Kirigakure and a member of the Ōtsutsuki.

Background

Ōtsutsuki Akio was born in Kirigakure as the only child Ōtsutsuki Haseo and Ōtsutsuki Suzumi. During this time his mother was a Jonin in service to Kirigakure, though she was technically a foreigner while his father was a carpenter who baked a little on the side. There were many arguments to how they would raise Akio, with the father opting for a more civilian lifestyle before they came to the conclusion that he would just choose when older. Life was pretty peaceful and while they weren't overly wealthy, they lived pretty comfortably. And on top of that Haseo couldn't be more pleased to see his boy take up some of the more finer things in life, such as reading and care taking, and he was confident that when Akio would start the academy everyone would realize he wasn't suited to be a ninja. And for a time they were right. He never truly showed interest in learning the ways, spacing off into his own little world. Even during the little sparing sessions he couldn't hold his own against some of the more enthusiastic practitioners that Kirigakure was known for throughout history. He just didn't seem to have the talent and was far to soft to be successful, and his clans origin not being of Kiri only exaggerated the matter. To make things worse this made him a target for bullying, constantly being knocked around like someones play thing, and it had gotten bad enough that Akio's parents had to consider either relocating him or putting him in a more traditional setting. That plan immediately came to a halt when they saw the look in Akio's eyes, filled with a frustration, but determination that they had never seen before in the young boy. While he cracked down in class, becoming much more attentive, and while he continued to be bullied, every night after classes he would either train by himself, or spent the nights learning from his mother who was impressed by the rate he was growing. His marks were top notch, It wasn't before long that he had caught up to his fellow classmates who learned the hard way that he wasn't so soft during a bullying session where he knee'd one of them in the face. He had finally reached them, and though this didn't stop the many conflicts that lied ahead, Akio was more than ready, and began to even enjoy them.

It wasn't before long though that the NCIA attacked. Akio remembered the screams of the village as he and his parents fled towards one of the two larger ships and while he understood what was happening, he couldn't comprehend as to why. From the waters he could see his home burning and an ache he never quite had before had swelled in his chest. During the attack the ships had gotten separated from one another and soon they became stranded on an island. It wasn't long before the NCIA had tracked them down though, and things got bloody. By the time it was over Akio had lost his father and his mother had been crippled enough to be taken captive. Akio attempted to resist but he was out of his league and was soon a captive as well. Scared and battered they were taken to the detention camps where they were forced to do hard labor and subjected to abuse. But they were survivors, and if extinction wasn't going to wipe them out then a couple of beatings wouldn't even get close.

Akio and his mother had lost track of the time they spent at the camp when they were finally freed. To recover, they were taken to Kumogakure and was offered a place within the community. With his mother still healing the two took the village up on their offer and stayed in Kumogakure for a few years, Akio on various odd jobs throughout the village for cheaper and Suzumi becoming a baker so that they could get by, but they their end game had always been to return to Kirigakure. When they could finally afford to make the move, they did, five years since the war ended. The two were welcomed back but rebuilding their life there was a tough and pricey task, and odd jobs wouldn't be enough. Deciding that the best course of action was for him to take up his studies once more Akio rejoined the academy and before long, became a genin in the service of Kiri, intent returning the village and family to as close of its former glory as it could reach.

Personality

Akio's always been an extremely bright individual, though he has to show interest for you to see it, this causing him to be kind of a late bloomer coming into his teens, and mistakenly seen as lazy and talent less growing up. When applying himself, he grasp concepts and the application of things without much difficulty. These positive traits made him the pride and joy of his family and clan, but it came with a price. One could say that Akio is the perfect example of being a product of the world he currently lives in. Due to constantly being bullied and abused in a NCIA holding facility during the war, a once gentle soul that was considered to be too soft by many, he has outgrown most of those traits for something closer to the Kiri-nin he had lived among most of his life, his heart becoming fiercer, his body longing to test itself against others. And with that every action he takes he seeks to find purpose in it. Still, there are moments where you can catch him just staring, thinking of better days when his family was whole, or taking care of an animal. Akio also shares a sense obligation and duty, wanting to be the breadwinner for his family as his father is no longer around to assist.

Clothing: Straying away form the typical Otsutsuki attire, Akio prefers clothing that's more fitted for combat without getting in the way. His general attire consist of a lightweight beige coat with a black patch towards the upper left corner, and its length makes it's way a few inches past his hip along with a short red but, tattered scarf. Underneath is a simple black long sleeve shirt. Held up by a silver belt, the boy owns a pair of black relaxed fitted pants and a pair of beige boots that makes its way up to his shins.
Physical Description: Akio is fairly tall for his age. His build leans more towards the slender side,though his body is trained enough so that he can have the stamina to take a punch while not being burdened by the extra muscles and allowing him to move with a little more fluidity. From his days of facing off with bullies to the NCIA prison encampments, his arms and legs have their fair share of scars, his most noticeable one being on the back of his forearm from one end to the next.
