During the festivities, the resistance struck key NCIA strongholds in the city as well as sympathizing shops, using these explosions to lure and confuse the NCIA in a series of set battles and traps. It was an attack orchestrated by Koizumi Hikado, the soon to be Juunidaime Tsuchikage. The battle itself lasted one day and resulted in much destruction of the city district where the festival was located.
