Clothing: When not on a mission or on important business, Fuun loves to wear simple clothing. She typically wears open capri style pants for maximum range of motion, with a ripped up t-shirt or sleeveless shirt under her traditional Inuzuka coat. When on mission, Fuun pulls her hair back and wears black, close fitting clothing designed to allow her to move and bend however she may need. No matter what Fuun is doing, she never wears shoes.
Physical Description: Fuun has dark black hair, let grown into a wild mane that she usually ties back in a high ponytail. Fuun is lithe and chiseled despite her diminutive stature and her eyes belie trauma beyond her years. The young Inuzuka commonly wears dark black or crimson eye makeup and has abandoned the traditional Inuzuka fang face markings for her own blood red affair of warpaint under her lips or away from her eyes, above her cheekbones.
History
Chapter 1:
Inuzuka Fuun and Inuzuka Hideyoshi were born in Iwagakure in the spring to Inuzuka Osamu and Aragane Kasumi. Fuun’s parents were both members of the Tsuchikage’s personal guard.
Her father, Osamu, had immigrated to Tsuchi No Kuni after Kinsa Natari saved his life during a skirmish with Kumogakure nin. Osemu had been separated from his cell and had spent days in enemy territory, and he was seemingly at the end of his life. Kinsa defeated the Kumo nin and administered emergency aid to Osemu before bringing him to a hospital in Iwagakure No Soto. Once Osemu was nursed back to health he promised he would repay Kinsa someday and returned to Konoha. When Kinsa later became Tsuchikage in the spring of 2085, he requested Osemu to join his personal guard, to which the honorable Omesu agreed in order to repay his debt.
Kasumi, her mother, was born of the Aragane family, a wealthy and pragmatic clan of steel users in the County of Coal. Kasumi was a talented kunoichi who quickly rose through the ranks of the Iwa nin, and eventually became a member of the ANBU. She spent many years working as a prestigious hunter nin for Iwagakure, eventually becoming part of the Tsuchikage’s personal guard, where she met Inuzuka Osemu. They were married just over a year later. Kasumi was killed defending Kinsa Natari during the Akatsuki coup in the fall of 2104, just over a year after the birth of Fuun and Hideyoshi.
As they grew up in Iwa, Fuun and Hideyoshi discovered that they tended towards very different pursuits. Where Hideyoshi would play sports and tend toward loud, chaotic activities, Fuun enjoyed pursuits of intelligence, Shogi, Go, reading books on war strategy, history, and mystery.
The bond between them naturally was still incredibly strong, yet the twins seemed to be each others' antithesis. Hideyoshi and Fuun found their connection to each other in their propensity for long daytime naps in the sunlight. It was during these times that Funn felt the deepest connection to her brother.
Life further separated Fuun from her brother during their years under the Kumogakure Empire. The two approached the occupation at different angles. Fuun feared daily for her father's life as he worked to undermine the Empire, though at the tender age of 4, she did not fully understand the what struggles were happening all around her. Her father was injured at the Metropolis Music Festival Battle in 2109. He recovered a year later and resumed his guarding of the Tsuchikage. Fuun was filled with a growing distrust of outsiders, even those from her own clan. The hardships of Iwagakure No Soto during the Empire's reign fueled Fuun's patriotism to her village and empowered her resolve.
Growing up in Tsuchi No Kuni was difficult for Fuun more so than her brother, as she lacked his charismatic charm and headstrong personality. Despite her father’s prestigious position within the village, growing up as an Inuzuka made Fuun somewhat of an outsider with the Iwa nin in her age group. As a result, Fuun spent many days sitting alone, studying her calligraphy and teaching herself to scribe scrolls more efficiently than her peers.
Because of her generally negative experiences with those in her age group and academy class, she spent an increased amount of time speaking with her father, and in association, with the Tsuchikage. Fuun commonly surprised her father and his associates with talk and mannerisms that were far beyond her age in terms of maturity and intelligence. Fuun found that she far enjoyed speaking with adults and more serious individuals than she did “playing ninja” and “acting her age.” Because of this, Fuun began to secretly look down on her peers, as her maturation was much more advanced than the average of her age.
Fuun’s father made it his prerogative to tell Hideyoshi and her about their mother as much as possible. As such, Fuun decided from a young age that she would be the one to live up to her mother’s legacy, making it her mission in life to become the Tsuchikage’s personal guard.
Because of this, Fuun began studying more than just her typical clan taijutsu, working to broaden her horizons as a shinobi. In effect, Fuun became even more of a student of the ninja arts than she had before. With her studious mind, she enjoys attempting to develop her own jutsu and techniques, even though most of her early attempts have been less than fruitful, she charges on headstrong in her vision.
Chapter 2:
Since her twin brother's untimely death and her best friend's permanent crippling at the hands of a Yuki ninja at the beginning of the war, Fuun has withdrawn into a state of numbness. Just over a year later she returned from a hiatus during which she had disappeared into the mountains surrounding the village for a time, training and steeling her mind. Throughout her grueling year spent mostly alone camping in the mountains outside the village, Fuun has developed a growing disdain for the Yuki nin now commonly seen around the village of Iwagakure. Rationally she understands her rage is misplaced but the heavy losses incurred on both sides weigh heavily on the souls of her and everyone around her. She returns to the village properly this time, with wild eyes and a renewed drive to become the greatest defender in Iwagakure history.
