Tsuchi Yuki Border Agreement of 2113

The Tsuchi Yuki Border Agreement of 2113 was a treaty signed by Alchem Syaoran (Tsuchikage) and the government leaders of the Country of Snow in the beginning of Fall of 2113. The agreement created a demilitarized zone on the border between the Country of Earth and the Country of Snow which would stretch five miles on either side of the border. In addition to not allowing any military to enter this ten mile band that stretched the entire border, it allowed for each country to keep an agreed amount of military personnel on their own sides of the zone. This was the first treaty signed between the two countries after over a year of negotiations that had led to much discomfort on both sides. The negotiations were started in response to a gathering of forces by the Country of Snow near the border of Earth. Because of the past invasion by the Country of Snow and the murder of the former Tsuchikage, the Country of Earth was understandably on edge with the whole situation.

This treaty was signed only a few short weeks before Daniel Hollows was elected into office as Prime Minister of the Country of Earth. Since Hollows’ election this agreement has been the line that has kept peace between the two countries.
