Hisame

The Hisame Clan (氷雨一族, Hisame Ichizoku) is a prominent clan of Kirigakure. Inheritors of the hyōton release kekkei genkai and famed for their extraordinary command over the element, the clan has only come into prominence within the last three decades. In spite of this, the Hisame have become one of the most revered clans in all of Mizu no Kuni. Producing several exceptional ninja talents such as the Hachinin and General of Kirigakure's SHADAKI unit, Hisame Haruyuki, as well as his brother and Kirigakure councilman Hisame Shougo. The two becoming the head members of the Hisame clan. Proving that the clan has come quite far since its modest beginnings and still progressing as a dominant player in the Hidden Mist Village.

Overview

The Hisame Clan is one of the founding families of the Hidden Mist. Originally known as the Yuki clan, their roots can be traced back to the early days of the Ninjutsu Enlightenment Period. Shortly after their formal organization as a ninja clan, they would take part in the creation of Kirigakure. The clan was subject to a genocidal effort as a societal aftereffect to the horrors of a civil war in the Water Country. Any survivors would live in secret, hiding their abilities so to lead a peaceful life. The massacre of the clan led it and its kekkei genkai to be deemed "cursed" for many years after its downfall.

Its heritage would be passed down through generations and a group of scholars descended from the survivors strived to search for- and record any history from remnants of the clan. The discovery of the unknown shinobi, later identified as Haku, established the foundations of loyalty that embodies the values of the now reorganized, Hisame clan. Tales of his actions and abilities would live on through documents held secret for only successors of the clan. In a century's time, the secret records would be put to use by searching for-, recruiting, and teaching those remnants of the clan who voluntarily wished to know their heritage.

The Hisame clan was officially re-established and recognized as a clan of Kirigakure under, Miyoko Hisame around 2100 KAD.

The efforts made in the war against Kumo and the NCIA had garnered fame forgiven the Hisame clan. Giving them footholds in positions of authority within Kirigakure. The Kirigakure counsel holding a seat represented by Hisame Shougo and the Shadaki black-ops headed by Hisame Haruyuki.

Though the clan has no particular affinity for politics, the unity and stability of the clan has made the Hisame clan a prominent clan of Kirigakure. In which they continue to serve in various ways.

Abilities

The Hisame clan are inheritors of the Hyōton kekkei genkai. Also maintaining their own, albeit informal, combat and tactical fighting systems. Of which are held in high regard among the elite shinobi units of Kirigakure.

Notable Clan Members

• Haku: A shinobi unbeknownst to the shinobi world that mastered the secrets of the clan at a young age. Stories of his loyalty to a comrade and abilities are what set the foundations of the clan's resurrection.
• Haruyuki Hisame: SHADAKI General and clan head. Famed as the youngest of the Hachinin and master of the Hisame secrets arts. of Sarutobi Sasuke. Student of the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, and Third Hokage of Konoha. Known as 'The Professor' and 'God of Shinobi' (忍の神, Shinobi no Kami) for his extraordinary ability in ninjutsu.
• Miyoko Hisame: The first head of the re-organized Hisame Clan. She saw to not only the official re-organization of the clan but the integration of the clan into Kirigakure society. She would lead the clan valiantly beside Kirigakure in the Kumo war, which would enable the clan's foothold as one of the prominent clans of Kirigakure in the modern era.
• Shougo Hisame: Twin brother of Haruyuki and co-head of the Hisame clan. A member of the Kirigakure Council, he is also a master of the Hisame secret arts as well as a large proponent in the development of young Hisame clansmen.

Trivia

• The Hisame Clan's name means 'Chilly Rain' (氷雨), like that of the real-life weather phenomenon, sleet. The original name "Yuki" (雪) means 'snow', after the clan's kekkei genkai.
  • The clan's name was chosen in-game before the revealing of Haku's clan's name in the series. Thus, resulting in the clan's reorganization in the future as "Hisame" to connect the two.
  • The Hisame clan is one of NA's most cultural heavy clans. Being deeply rooted to their heritage and even holding belief systems atypical to Japanese folklore.
  • Haku may not be known to the world but is seen as a symbol of what it means to be a shinobi and a prodigal master of the clan kekkei genkai.
