The Fujikaze Generator during its climate altering era

During a time of great political upheaval in the Country of Snow, it was discovered that the Kazahana family had developed some sort of large-scale weapon capable of causing unprecedented catastrophes to neighboring countries. This is believed to be a major contributor to the end of the Kazahana dynasty. The event is named after Kazahana Koyuki who was a famous actress popularly known by the name of Fujikaze Yukie.

During the time of the legendary Uzumaki Naruto, Kazahana Doto launched a violent military take over of the country and seized the weapon. Through many escapades that spanned the length of the globe, the estranged princess of the Kazahana family was finally brought back home, Doto was killed and the massive 'weapon' was soon revealed to be a generator which, upon being turned on, displayed its awesome power and almost completely transformed the Snow Country's entire climate.

And so, Kazahana Koyuki's (known as Fujikaze Yukie) short reign came to fruition amidst joy and celebration from her people. She took on the name Fujikaze to celebrate the new birth of the country and its new beginnings. She was discovered to be a powerful and just leader, though she could not stop the havoc that would eventually consume her people. The sudden change in climate had warmed the oceans, destroyed the pack ice, melted the permafrost so many houses were built on and completely destroyed the country's entire ecosystem. the result was widespread panic as the fish left the oceans and the mammals fled the plains for the mountains. Thousands of people died as their houses collapsed onto of them, starved int he resulting famine and drowned in the many bogs created by the sudden melt.

This disaster is also the birthplace of the Kiyoyama dynasty, which began when Kiyoyama Tsuneo, backed by a vast army of both shinobi and untrained militia, seized control of Yuki. Empress Fujikaze is thought to have fled in disgrace, for she was never seen again and Tsuneo adamantly fought allegations that she was killed.

The bones of the generator still stand in a deserted sector of the country at least one hundred kilometers from any other sign of human life. Under Tsuneo's instruction, the generator, along with its blue prints and any hope of recreating something like it, were completely destroyed. Since this disaster, Snow's economy has been in a steady decline and the climate has become extreme.
