The [[Otogakure no Sato]] Famine Riots of 2114 were a set of riots that lasted over three days within the capital city of [[Denchi no Kuni]]. The riots, which had begun as a worker's strike for better farming and supports, picked up supporters from those who had lost work and others who had been negatively affected by the poor harvests over the previous years. The strike turned to the streets, the rioters taking their anger first towards the government buildings and structures but soon flooding out towards anything in the area. The mob gained even more vigor as ninja were dispatched to detain the crowd, the rioters fighting with improvised firebombs, injuring many in the process. Due to confusion and self defense, some ninja ended up killing the protesters on accident which ended up fueling the fear and anger of the mob as a whole. As more joined the city was turned into a mad house.

The Otogakure no Sato Famine Riots of 2114 were a set of riots that lasted over three days within the capital city of Denchi no Kuni.

Though ninja were able to quell the rioting within a few hours, it started up again the following night as people took to the streets from late night taverns and restaurants. It was not until the entire village was ordered to shut down and all the citizen's sent home for three days straight that the rioting was completely put to an end. However, millions of Ryo of damage was caused to countless structures in the village, further adding to the debt and problems of the country as a whole.

The events had a negative effect, as expected, on the view of Resumo Brash. The Kyoukage, as the leader not only of the ninja in the country but of the government as a whole, was seen as a failure for being unable to prevent the riots and then to contain them after they had already begun. In a recent poll nearly 80% thought that the situation could have been better handled, whether it in prevention of in containment.
