The Northern Sea

The Northern Sea is the largest body of fresh water in the known world. The sea itself is situated in the Northern portion of the continent, bordering multiple countries from Yuki no Kuni to Rai no Kuni. The Northern Sea is also a terminal sea, meaning that is does not drain into a larger body of water. Due to the height altitudes and mountainous regions between the Northern Sea and the Eastern Oceans, there is no canal or waterway between the two. Fishing is plentiful and there are multiple small islands located along the coast between Denchi no Kuni and Rai no Kuni, with islands being much more sparse along the coast to the north west.

Due to current events, the coast on the Northern Sea near Rai no Kuni and its southern neighbor has been closed to all civilian boating traffic. For more information, see the The Rakurai Pact Project.
