Surkh
Surkh is a substantial port town on the northern edge of the Denchi no Kuni, right on the coast of the Northern Sea. The town itself is one of the major trading routes along the sea, and also predates the ninja age. The entire town is surrounded by an ancient thirty foot tall wall, much of which is farmland. Sentry towers are posted around the wall and each of the five city gates are guarded by a mixture of guards and ninja twenty four hours a day. The city itself is the largest and most well known in the region, with farmland stretching for miles around, mostly towards the south.
Recently, economic trouble has caused much of the city to lose its value and crime rates to rise. The Black Turtles, a former gang of highway bandits has moved into the city and become a gang that protects the village while also feeding upon it for its own benefit.
