Appearance

♦ Eyes ♦ The Namikaze eyes tended to be on the "cool" side, with shades of green, blue and anything in between being the most common. Shades of purple are perhaps more likely than in other Clans, though still not a common hue. Heterochromia it a known recessive trait, though the rarest physical sign associated with the Namikaze was a distinct spiral coloration.
♦ Hair ♦ Blondes and various shades of red are the most common colors, though darker shades such as auburn or golden brown were not unheard of. Dark brown, or black were not naturally occurring in full blood Namikaze. Their hair is also characteristically messy, thick and unruly regardless of the length, and prone to extreme spiky if kept short.
♦ Body Type ♦ Namikaze are generally above average height, with most males reaching at least six feet in height, women a few inches shorter. They also have a tendency to slimmer builds, more lean than stocky, with long, streamlined limbs. Their skin is susceptible to tanning, and any moderate amount of sun exposure generally leads to at least a golden hue.
Naming Conventions
Unlike many great Clans, the Namikaze do not pass on names from parent to child. Traditionally, it was considered bad luck to name a child after a relative, especially if their intended namesake was already deceased. It was far more likely for the parents to derive names as alterations of their own or other close family members. A notable example of this is Namikaze 'Raz' Rasen, whose first name is phonetically similar to that of his father, Raizen. However, this is by no means a given, and often times names between close family members bear little to no relation to each other.
The Namikaze often pulled inspiration from their environment, favoring names that had their etymological roots in words such as wind, water, and waves regardless of the native language [such as Glacium]. Others chose names simple because they like the way it sounds, which has resulted in some extremely unorthodox results.
Religious Beliefs
Namikaze religious beliefs have a tendency to be a bit more primal, more akin to nature worship than actual gods. Like many parts of Namikaze culture there is little formality to it. This holds true for many rites of life, including birth, marriage, and death. Marriage ceremonies are extremely brief, and all that is generally required of the couple is the exchanging of some sort of token, traditionally handmade. While in modern days this is most likely a ring, or other piece of jewelry, it can be any physical object from instruments, trinkets, or even weapons as long as it was crafted by their hand.

Clan Leadership
Clan Leadership among the Namikaze is generally a lose affair. Both men and women are capable of holding the title of "Clan Head", and any adult has a say in Clan matters. The role of Clan Head was not hereditary, and any member could could be elected to the position. As a result, there are no "main" or "branch" families, and if there is not a pressing need for central leadership the clan may forgo appointing an official head in the even that a previous leader died or stepped down.
