Enjin Misotake is a Gennin of Iwagakure no Sato, the hidden village of Tsuchi no Kuni. He is ambitious and determined to bring more honor and glory to the Enjin Clan. He is 20 years old and currently the oldest Gennin in the history of Tsuchi no Kuni. He has spent the last few years in isolation in attempt to find himself and to refine his smoke techniques.

Appearance

Hair: Dark Grey and shoulder length. Typically kept up in a bun.

Eyes: Dark Grey that seem to have light grey wisps swirling slightly in the irises.

Clothing: When Misotake is out hiking in the mountains, he typically wears hiking boots, dark brown pants, and a forest green tunic. He wears a flowing smoky gray top with a deep v that goes down to his sternum and black pants when he has to go into the city.

Description:Misotake has a strong jawline and likes to stay clean shaven. He is muscular but not overly so. His muscles are more for function than for show. He has a tattoo of the Enjin clan emblem on the back of his left hand.

History

Misotake was born and raised in the Tsuchi no Kuni Mountains near Iwagkure. He spent most of his days growing up with his mother. They often took long nature walks and camping trips. His father wasn’t always around for his upbringing. This was due to the fact that Benjiro was always called upon to serve Iwagakure during the many conflicts that they participated in during Misotake’s 20 years of life. When his father was around though, he impressed upon Miso the importance of becoming a ninja. This meant that the two of them spent most of their time together training in the Enjin Clan dojo. Yui had a much softer approach to raising their child. She would push Miso to question everything and be very observant of both his surroundings and nature in general. Both of his parents were beaming with pride when Misotake finished the Ninja Academy. Miso on the other hand suddenly became very conflicted. Did he want to actually be a shinobi and live the ninja life or was he doing it to please his father? Was constant conflict all that there is to this life? To answer these questions and more, Miso struck out on his own to live in isolation in the mountains. After two years of living like this, he finally reached a decision. He was going to live the life of a shinobi. Not because his father wanted him to, but because he had been gifted with this kekkei genkai of smoke and to squander this gift of nature would shame not only him, but the entire Enjin Clan. The next few years were spent trying to hone his skills with this smoke and scouting which he found he had a knack for. Surely the Tsuchikage could find a use for a shinobi like him right? Finally he felt ready to strike out and make a name for himself and his clan in the eyes of the Iwagakure.

Throughout Misotake’s life, Iwagakure has been a part of many battles, wars, and invasions. His mother tried her best to downplay the nature of these conflicts and would often take Miso on long camping trips during these times. She couldn’t keep him from learning more about the battles, however. Miso knew what was going on but wouldn’t let on because he could see how upset his mother was every time his father left to fight. She taught Miso to respect the shinobi of the clan and the village for defending their way of life, especially those who lost their life in the battles. Misotake, of course, learned about these conflicts in detail at the Academy and in his training sessions with his father. His father, despite Yui’s wishes, would describe the conflicts going on and on about the tactics used and how the Enjin played important roles in them all. This made Miso want to become one of the honorable Enjin Clan members that would be called upon to aid his country. That was until the Yukigakure Invasion of 2109. After the first bloody battle, Iwagakure made sure that measures were in place to protect the vulnerable members of the city including the Academy students. Misotake’s mother made sure that he was safe at home. Miso decided to sneak out though and go to help defend his village for the second day of fighting. He was excited to finally have a chance to prove himself and bring honor to his family. He arrived at the outskirts of the village filled with dreams of being a hero, but when he saw all of the carnage before him, he became terrified. There was nothing noble about all of this death and destruction. After that day, he had lost the surety that being a ninja is what he wanted for his life. His self imposed isolation deep in the Tsuchi No Kuni mountains kept him out of the many battles in the following years.
