Kura-Okami Point is a small harbor village in Yuki no Kuni. It is the southernmost harbor that can dock anything larger than a two person fishing vessel and is often the first harbor a visitor of the country will find. The mouth of the harbor is marked by a very distinct lighthouse atop a lonely rock formation. A dragon twists around the lighthouse tower, extending its head above the top so that it appears as if it is breaking a mouthful of fire to keep the kindle alight. The village itself is named after Kura-Okami, the god of rain and snow, a perfect fit for a harbor town such as this.

Architecture

The buildings in Kura-Okami Point are tall roofed with steep rooftops to prevent snow build up. The village itself is build on a steep hillside that slopes away from the sea so that each row of buildings is higher than the one to its east. As you approach on a boat it feels as if you can see the entire village spread out in front of you.

Government

Kura-Okami is small enough that it is overseen by a single mayor who lives in modest wealth. Though the village sees thousands of pounds of trade a season, most of it passes right through to the capital of Hyouden or other villages inland. The village is actually within a larger providence, that which is overseen by a Daimyo of considerable power and influence.
