The Wantentei religion is a monotheistic religion that finds its roots in antiquity. The origins of the religions are unknown and the number of places of worship is also unknown. The only known standing temple in the world is found in Hi no Kuni in the south east, knowingly one of the most dangerous places in the world to venture to unprepared.

  • The following are first hand accounts of visiting the temple.

" There were no signs of human contact with the area present, no tools to soil the natural niche. With a few day stalkers around, the creatures clamored around, gaining a sense to who their intruders were. A worn alabaster stone archway greeted the temple, with faded stones that glittered in the old sunlight, but now were moderately aged and faded. The hallowed ground showed age, but it also showed pristine qualities that time could never defile. Apparently even time was afraid of this place, insinuating there was much more that met the eye. A gray rock spiced with ocean blues lay before the entrance to the Temple. It was likely to be used as an alter or pedestal for ceremonies and sacrifices before entry was permitted in the sanctuary. There was ancient writing that was nearly illegible and hard to translate on the archway. Scholars sought this place as a window into rich history of prehistoric Hi no Kuni and life before civilization. In vernacular, a phrase was actually readable, but the name of the God- its true name was lost. Perhaps in the inner dwellings, one could find the truth. On the base of the temple, one could see the nine tailed Bijuu and the ten tails rising above them. Although the sediment would be ancient, the nine Bijuu would suggest a time after the Rikodu Sennin, unless the creatures were originally separate and then combined- or some soul added the sketches afterward. Following above them, were five figures, the Kami, and rising on the main tower were hints suggesting that the epitome of the highest figure laid at the zenith of the monarch building.

Wantentei Temple

The inside was filled with good lighting, as it’d appear that many specifically placed holes and windows in the structure allowed natural sunlight to seep through like little pores, all adding up to give enough light for a normal setting in the day time. Candles were in the thousands lining the ends of the cylinder temple, along with eight great candles in the central room. Smack in the middle of the entire entrance was a giant tree statue that looked like it was growing out of the ground. Its limbs appeared to be strengthening the reliability of the structure, in addition to providing a deep ambiance of the room. It was stone and at the bottom was a pool, although it was dried up it could be derived that this was an old fountain that provided water for the entire structure.

In addition, great statues of winged creatures- angels dolled the large cylinder temple. They were magnificent and large- the pinnacle of the people’s artistic abilities. Painting of angels, of animals, of humans and nature would be found in all the temple as tribute to the great deity. The room was impressive, but at the entrance was a staircase that would either lead up- or down. It spiraled across the room and so one could encompass all of the beauty of the temple as they walked from floor to floor.

On the ground floor there were five statues- the five Kami. They were looking up, through the darkness into the realm of the heavens, while they remained in a crouched position. It looked like they were praying and giving respect to a higher power. The ground was painted with the ten tailed Nibuu, as to represent all of the creations of the One God. On the outside were grave stones and tombs. It was a mausoleum, a place of final resting and peace in the sacred shrine. Would they look, bodies were to be found and there was even an additional room for space and the embalming process. It depicted the lowest part of the earth, looking to the sky in awe and speculation.

Core Beliefs

  • Before He created light, He dwelled in darkness

Granter of life, puppeteer of death Deliver us to your home Save us all

  • “The Wantentei Temple does not have a prayer room. The belivers did not like churches that were built as a house of a diety- they believed anybody could communicate with the highest power at any place. In that respect, there were no political ranks in their society. There was no pope, no bishops or priests. There were those who taught and passed down the belief, but they were brothers and sisters all the same in the eyes of the One God. As we ascended, the art became less and less because people could not capture any art that they believed could come close to the sanctuary of the One God. They didn’t want to insult Him, so the only art that was allowed, was nature in itself. They were the art, their way of life. Their lifestyles. This is the Fuhen Garden- the Everlasting Garden.”
  • “’When one falls, then they will rise.’ That is one of the people’s core beliefs. Unless you’ve seen the dark side of life, you will never truly know what good the light has in it. The strength, the love and the appreciation for all things being alive- the will of the creator, the finality of life. As such, in order to reach the top, despite the optical illusion, we have to go down first. If we travel up, we will end up in a reflecting pool.”
  • Orhalo, the One God created angels and demons to provide balance in the world. When the demons became too powerful, He created humans and granted them the knowledge of chakra in order to slay the beasts. He built men so they they could carry both good and evil inside of them to create balance in the world.
